The house is a boarding house, shabby-chic that is conveniently located near the Mission, Excelsior, and Glen Park districts—all within walking distance. It is very close to transportation, freeways and major thoroughfares. Savor the ethnic vibrancy of this off the beaten path of San Francisco.
Walk 1.5 blocks to buy Asian fruits and vegetables from the corner Asian Market. Across the freeway, walk to Farmer’s Market on weekends. Take 14 Mission bus towards Daly City where you will find Filipino, Chinese, Latin, German restaurants and a hamburger joint in the same neighborhood.
Venture further away from the house and walk 2 blocks to take 14 Mission, a bus line that travels from one end of the City that borders Daly City to Embarcadero which is the heart of downtown San Francisco. Take the adventurous ride on this famous bus line and visit various S.F. districts en route. Or, walk four blocks to Glen Park Bart station and take the Bart lines that travel to SF International airport and within San Francisco as well as various Bay Area cities, locations and destinations.
Shared kitchen, shared yard and shared bathroom.

I want to thanks Victor for giving me a ride to the San Francisco Airport, that day was a raining day, and he really helps me a lot.
Overall, I have no real complaints. The room was clean, the place was quiet, and Maria was very communicative and pleasant to deal with. The neighborhood is certainly not exciting, but it was a very convenient commute to Union Square/FiDi if you're staying for work. The 14x has stops just down the street from the house and is a quick commute during rush hours.
Despite there being a lot of rooms and people staying here, I had zero issues with getting in bathroom time in the mornings, and everyone was VERY quiet and respectful. I used this as transitional housing, as I just moved to the city and needed a place to stay while I searched for an apartment. This filled that need well.
If you're looking for a cheap place to sleep, this will work. But, you're not going to get the homey feeling that you may be looking for with Airbnb.
Pros: (1) It's cheap, (2) there's reliable, fast internet, and (3) Victor (who's there to help check you in and answer questions) is extremely friendly and helpful; (4) very large kitchen with everything you need to cook for yourself, which is great. (5) 15 minute walk to BART, or a 5-6 minute walk to the bus that takes you downtown.
Cons: (1) There were 9 people staying in the house when I was there, and there are pages of instructions taped to walls all over the place, so it felt more like a hostel than a home; (2) Since there were so many people, I often had a hard time getting into the bathroom in the mornings to get ready for work; (3) the windows in the room don't open, so it got stuffy and there's an old, musty smell that wouldn't go away. (4) The neighborhood seemed alright, but one night the police actually came into the house because they were looking for a suspect with a gun in the area. (5) It costs $6.50 (in quarters) for one load of laundry - maybe that's normal for the San Francisco area, but I thought that was a little high.
If you're looking for the original Airbnb experience, which is getting the "homey" feel and staying with the host, you won't find it here. But, since there are so many people staying in the house, you can get the chance to meet a lot of different people.
I appreciate his positive comments, but he should have expressed to me his negative experience, which prompted his bad reviews, during the length of his stay so that I have the chance to fix the problems. I am very good in addressing reasonable issues brought up by my guests that are within my control. I must admit that there are situations that are beyond my control.
True, there was an incident when a robbery took place at a park and an on-going police chase ended in our neighborhood. The police apprehended one of the suspects. I was concerned about the Trumbull house, so I prompted one of the guests, since I was out of town, to call the police to ensure that everything was fine. I could have kept silent since there was NO INCIDENT AT THE HOUSE, but I care about the safety of my guests . So, despite the possibility of a guest giving me a bad review, as Jake has and making a bad impression of our house, I put the safety of our guests first.
I choose to be open and to share information with my guests so they can make the right decisions for themselves .
I stayed over Maria's room for a week and you get just about what you pay for, a simple private room in a house with bathrooms and kitchen. The bathrooms were kept clean and the bed was clean aswell, which I think are the two main things you look for while staying in a place, although even with that it could be a little bit cleaner in other areas.
It were the rainy days when I stayed and the room has no heating so it got very (very) chilly.
Also you barely meet/notice the other guests, so it gets to be very quiet.
It is located near two different bus line stops and relatively near to a BART station, which allows really good mobility inside San Francisco and out to the East Bay.
I did not got to meet Maria personally but she was very helpful and agreeable.
Nice room for a good price. In a quiet neighborhood so sound is never an issue. I would stay here again without thinking twice about it.
A well located house near Glen Park and its BART, about 10 minutes walking. The BART can easily get you to south Bay or the city center. It is a student house, very good guys and I had no problems to share the bathroom. The room was a bit cold but with a good single bed, desk a sun light. It was a good value for money stay in SF

I have always dreamt of having such a website available to feature our houses. I am delighted that such a format exists!!
I enjoy traveling and meeting new friends. I am hoping to take a break and travel the U.S. on Amtrak as soon as I get a break. Perhaps visit a few friends on the (website hidden) website.
