Beautiful two story loft, where the kitchen and living quarters is on the first floor and beautifully redone bath is on the second floor, is ideally located on M and 31st streets in the heart of Georgetown.
This is the perfect place for someone or a couple who want to stay, shop and eat all within walking distance. There's a new kitchen, and a new bathroom with classic fixtures and traditional flaire.
• Easily accommodates two to three people.
• There's a large Sony (website hidden) TV installed
• Brand new custom built Queen size bed loft (past reviews talked about my old bed that was a little shaky -- this is completely new -- thick welded steel that is steadfast :)
• Fast WiFi, Dyson fans, and AC and central heat
• Very comfortable World Market couch, and old world charm--like many of the buildings on M Street, this one was built in 1880's!
The apartment is located above Bodega, a popular spanish tapas restaurant--so although sometimes a little noisy, the location is incredible! When you come out the apartment, you are on Georgetown's historic M Street and in the middle of all the action. Seriously, Starbucks is 5 feet away from the apartment :) And not only are you located in the prime area of M Street, but you also are two blocks away from the Potomac River and the C & O Canal -- where you can take wonderful walks, jogs and bike rides every morning and evening. There is absolutely no better location for a person or persons traveling who want to really explore Washington DC -- great restaurants (Cafe La Ruche, Mie n Yu, Rugby), bars (Old Glory, L2), shopping (Barney Co-op, Nike Town, Jack Spade), and more.

Zak is a great host. Great place, great location. Great experience. Thanks so much for our stay.
Awesome apartment! I really enjoyed staying here. The older building and apartment have so much character and as shown in the pictures are decorated very well. The bed is comfortable and the fact that it's lofted is not an issue (as long as you don't have an extreme injury, I definitely think it adds to the experience). There is everything you need too including towels and tea, and everything is clean as well. The location is perfect too. You're right next to a Starbucks and in the best shopping area DC has. The apartment also feels safe as it is up one story and towards the back of the building. I was surprised to see another airbnb-er had trouble with heating because it was in the 30s when I stayed but the apartment was plenty warm. Also the restaurant noise is really not an issue. I was there over the weekend so you hear the music and muted voices but it's not any different than city noise and as long as you don't require library-level silence you should be able to read and sleep just fine. Finally, Zak is a great host and very accommodating about check-in and check-out times.
Best location ever.
Zak's loft is in the middle of the action in Georgetown, and very convenient to where I needed to be for work. We had a few start-up issues, through no fault of Zak's, but he was always highly responsive and very friendly, and he resolved everything right away. Great place to stay for a short while, and the price is right.
I found everything as I hoped for: great location, nice apartment, friendly host. Zak showed up with the keys even though I arrived at an odd hour Saturday midnight. I can only recommend this place!
GREAT host and GREAT location...heart of Georgetown with plenty of buses and taxis right outside. We were not bothered by street or restaurant noise at all. However, if you plan to sleep early and are sensitive to sound, you might be. Very comfortable Qn bed. We sleep on a King at home so I was worried about the size plus loft bed against the wall. However, we slept surprisingly great. A/C worked well, which was key as it was 90+ degrees outside during our stay. It cools the apt down fast. We only ran it while there. Note, it only keeps the downstairs cool. The bathroom is upstairs and did get very hot, particularly by the afternoon/eve, but a cooler than usual shower felt great after being out in the heat all day and we spent as little time as possible up there. There is a big mirror on the wall downstairs so I used it instead of the bathroom one for the most part. There are plenty of outlets. Had no problem finding places to hang clothes with some of Zak's unused hangers. He had a basket of travel-size toiletries, which was a nice touch. He even included extra items like contact lens solution and makeup remover wipes, which is what made me assume it was for guests (I feel safe assuming Zak doesn't wear makeup). As Zak pointed out, the floors (particularly stairs) are kinda slippery. You might want to have a pair of flip flops or something to wear around while there. I didn't the whole time but thought it was worth mentioning. Note that the bed is lofted and the bathroom is upstairs...particularly if you get up a lot in the night or think you'll have issues with all the stairs. It was barely an inconvenience to us but I imagine there are others who might not like it. I had to ask Zak a couple of questions while there and he was very responsive.
If you're looking to stay in the middle of it all, this apartment in Georgetown could not be more central. The dyson fan is handy since the apartment sits on top of a restaurant. If you're a light sleeper, just a heads up, sometimes it gets a bit loud in the evenings given it's location on the main stretch. Loved how convenient it was having all the shops on M Street just a skip away.
Very disappointing - the host Zak did not deliver the product he had promised. The ad promised a full sized loft bed and a large flat fold down sofa. We had told him in advance there would be two adult men staying. When we arrived, Zak expressed fake concern that the sofa might be too small for us to sleep on. What he hadn't told us was that he full well knew that there was no sofa - only a tiny love seat that did not fold down. I thought the mistake was on my end, that perhaps I had misunderstood the property description. One of us had to sleep on the hardwood floor and awoke with neck pain. In the morning, when I logged on through wifi, I rechecked it and lo and behold - there was supposed to be a large, flat fold down sofa that had been promised, not a minuscule love seat. We immediately left for the Embassy Suites which was $30 a night cheaper and a 100x better. We were later given an insulting offer of an air mattress, several hours after we had already left.
Great location. Would certainly use again.
Zak's loft was perfectly situated in the heart of Georgetown. My girlfriend and I were more than satisfied throughout our stay. Zak was attentive and communicated quickly when we needed help with information about DC. My girlfriend forgot her camera and Zak was kind enough to ship it back! Outstanding guy. As for the loft, no issues whatsover. Clean and more spacious than we had imagined. I would highly recommend Zak's loft to anyone visiting DC.
