Resting on the Cottonwood Limestone Ledge surrounded by oaks, hickorys, redbuds and an intermittent stream, our 13' (soon to be 16') Bell Tent sits on an elevated 20' x 24' platform. Wildlife including deer, turkey, owls, hawks at more veer through the glamping site along the same hiking trails readied for you to explore the woods and prairie.

The space
You may drive to the tent platform if necessary or park (2 vehicles) 50 yards away and hike-in. One queen sized bed with linens, chairs, potable water and a rug are found inside the tent. Stick furniture and lanterns are outside on the platform. 150 gallons of non-potable water, rain barrels, are on or near the platform. A wash area and campfire ring are also adjacent. A shower/bath (in our home 150 yards away) may be available (see bath linens). You may bring your own tents and place on or near the platform (see extra guests).

We built our prairie home 24 years ago. It is an oasis surrounded by the city of Manhattan and adjacent to Anneberg Park and the Linear Trail. I enjoy maintaining the prairie and sharing it with others. We've hosted guests from around the world and shared the prairie at events, both intimate and as large as 300 guests. We offer you a prairie retreat with access to our ridgetop fire circle with 360 degree views of Manhattan and the Flint Hills. Our detached guest house offers privacy but we're a short distance away in our home. We're happy to recommend our favorite haunts from 40 years of living in Manhattan.
