Wow. We can’t say enough good things about our time at Lough Graney cottage. The location is tucked away in the countryside of County Clare on a small dairy farm at the foot of the lough and is as authentic a “Irish countryside experience” as you could ask. The space was perfect for our three active boys (ages 12, 9 and 6), who were able to go visit the cows, play basketball on a suitable rim attached to the barn and do a little hurling in the yard. Yes, hurling. Mary was a wonderful host who provided us fresh milk and tasty scones on our first day and served as a great tour guide to recommend local attractions (we watched a great hurling match at Pepper’s Pub) or easy directions to nearby groceries, etc. She also provided some hurling equipment (and lessons) for the boys, who had a great time playing with it in the yard. Not something Texas kids do every day. The Caher/Feakle area is a great central location for easy day trips to the Cliffs of Moher, Galway or Burren National Park (ask Mary how to get there rather than using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps though). If you’re looking for a peaceful setting in the Irish countryside you will not be disappointed with this place.

We had such a lovely stay in Mary's little cottage. It was situated in a gorgeous valley with a lake. The cottage has all the charm we could have desired in a traditional 200 year old Irish house. It was wonderful to hear a bit about its history and her husband's family. Our first night there Mary provided us with a box of goodies and Guinness, which we enjoyed by the warm wood stove. One of our favorite things was watching the cows walk by the cottage on their way to the fields after milking!

Had a great time at the cottage. Enjoyed a fire each evening in the shared living space. Many board games available. Our new favorite was "Balderdash". Enjoyed fresh coffee on arrival and fire. Firewood was provided. Mary and family were wonderful. They were very helpful with directions and the area for groceries. The only downside was we had to go to the main house for wifi access. They were very accommodating to our adult children needing to be "connected".

Mary's cottage at Caher near Feakle was quaint and cosy in the extremely beautiful location of East Clare - lakes and emerald green rolling hills with cottages and dairy cows dotted here and there. The two of us had a lovely few days there while we attended the Feakle Irish Music Festival, a fantastic music event in early August. Mary is a wonderful host. She met us at the cottage and made us welcome. Our temporary home was sparkling clean with all modern amenities we needed for self catering and a comfortable night's sleep. The coffee from the coffee machine was excellent, with milk from the cows making a special latté. Mary suggested nearby walks and local restaurants. As a local she has lots of information she is willing to share. She also has a lovely singing voice and we enjoyed listening to her and others at a singing session at Moloney's in Feakle. We were welcomed like old friends when she saw us there. It was a lovely feeling. Thank you Mary. Being there was the best choice for our last days in Ireland before heading home to Australia.

We had a marvelous time at Mary's cottage! Best sleep since we've come to Ireland. It is a magical get away in the farmlands of Claire and we had the pleasure of going to the traditional music festival in Feakle while we were there!

I love hosting and meeting visitors here on our little family farm . Our traditional cottage has been in our family for well over 200 years so we are very proud to share it with our guests . We do our best to introduce to the loveliest places in East and indeed all of Clare and sorrounding regions.
