Welcome to Santuario Avalon, a Holistic and Tantric Retreat Center with a lush forested garden, lotus ponds and winding paths where one can find a tranquil and safe refuge from these precarious times. Come find refuge in one of our 5 uniquely designed casitas.
Casa Terra is the most unique living space in Avalon. It was built as an organically shaped meditation chamber with thick earth walls and a domed ceiling reminiscent of ancient temples or chapels.

The space
Casa Terra is an elegant yet Spartan abode with thick stone and earthen walls inspires inner reflection and intimacy. The vaulted ceiling in the central room creates a cave like environment making it comfortable, dry and quiet. One enters through the kitchenette which has a small fridge, toaster oven, sink with a separate tap for purified water. The central space is round with exotic wood floors, walk-in closet, work counter and queen size bed from which you can see the night sky trough a transparent bubble high in the domed ceiling. The bathroom with its polished cement floor has a shower, toilet and hand crafted wooden sink. A perfect space for either a solitary retreat or a cozy romantic getaway.
This hidden sanctuary is like being in your own private garden and it is the perfect place to reconnect with yourself, with your partner and with nature. Take quiet walks along the winding paths, enjoy your morning smoothie or coffee by the lotus pond, enjoy a cool swim in the Cenote-inspired pool relax in the shade of one of several hammocks nestled under an umbrella of leafy vines.

- We provide extra cleaning supplies, so you can clean as you stay
- Local laws require social distancing, wearing a mask in public spaces, using hand sanitizer and the disinfectant mat for your shoes at the entrance.

ONLY registered guests and staff have access to the property, no one from the outside is permitted to visit or stay over night.

WE DO NOT PROVIDE PARKING so please do not ask to park in the garage. Street parking next to Avalon is available. To date none of our clients have had issues with street parking as the neighborhood is family oriented and quite safe.

Spiders and scorpions are around hiding under rocks and in crevasses they can sting if disturbed but are not lethal. Shake your shoes before putting them on and look in the bottom of drawers or under bags or other dark places before sticking your hands in.

Neighborhood highlights

We are centrally located; a 10 minute walk to the central food and artisanal markets, restaurants and shops of Tepoztlán. We are at half an hour walk to the base of the pyramid’s mountain. Most everything is walking distance. You will find a variety of foods available; from traditional street food, to prehispanic vegetarian, to quality seafood, to falafels, veggie burgers and gourmet pizza, traditional Mexican, delicious bakeries, cafes and more... We can certainly recommend our favorite shops and eateries. Church celebrations, weddings and fireworks in and around town are to be expected on occasion.

I'm Cristina Mexican, teacher of Yoga, meditation, and conscious nutrition. I work therapies like Theta Healing, Harmonyum Healing. I have a 7-year-old son who has received guests at home since he was born. Very happy to welcome all those interested in deepening their interior connection or to people who want to do a personal retreat or as a couple of detoxification and at the same time enjoy Tepoztlán.
