About this listing
Most central appartment next to Nyhavn, and the canals. You are able to experience the city by foot or bike or from a sightseeing boat in the canals. Trendy Cafes, restaurants and social spots are scattered all around. The Royal theater is close by and best shopping is just around the corner, in the main pedestrian area called Strøget. 3 minutes away you will find the Metro station called Kongens Nytorv st. From here you are directly connected to the Airport and the rest of the city.
As this is not my primary home (I am hardly ever there) - most of the time you will have the small but newly refurbished guestroom and the whole apparment to yourself including bathroom, breakfast-kitchen with fridge etc. Bed-linnen, towels, soap-package at arrival. All very clean and high standard. Fast and secure WIFI is included. There is no actual service during your stay, allthough the friendly concierge is usually just downstairs to help you in anyway he can. There is laundryservice in the house.
NB: Please note that the big room shown on the pictures is no longer a part of the apartment, but used ocassionally by me.
I do in periods use my room and the shower a few times a week, depending on when you will be visiting, I am hardly ever there, but please do check with me before booking if you feel this highly limited use is not acceptable for you.
For short guest stays les than 10 days, I will not use the facilities at all.
Please refer to the list of amenities.
Interaction with Guests
As a host I considder it my mission to make my guests feel right at home and introduce them to the local community and depending on interest to show what the heart of Copenhagen offers.
On a daily basis I do not interact witht my guests, as I do not live here. Also I bellieve in giving my guest maximum privacy.
What's not to love about the heart of Copenhagen... Ask anyone or ask me about your special interests. I will be happy to share "my Copenhagen".
- All in walking distance or by bike - that is if you do not prefer to hop on the Metro which will lead you anywhere you like to go - or perhaps rather need to go...
Other Things to Note
If you are the outgoing type and like to meet new people - just let me know - and I will be happy to introduce you to the social part of Copenhagen.
Please take care of the place - just as I do, thanks!
Please clean the place on a running basis. If you prefer not to clean yourself, please let me know and I will arrange cleaning according to needs - at your expense.
very good and cheerful host. replies promptly and was flexible and helpful at all junctures. the apt is wonderful, well located, and well maintained. a highly recommended home and a host who is a pleasure to deal with, and who helped make our stay wonderful.
Soren was a great host. Well informed and helped me look up something about the local river taxi.
I work in CPH and so know the areas well that I wanted to stay in.
Location for me was important and I didnt want the the city centre as important it was more to walk along the river bank.
This apartment couldnt be closer for that.
The apartment was spotlessly clean.
Fantastic sized bathroom which I hard to find in CPH.
The bedroom come living room was a fair size and a good sized tv - that takes HDMI connection was found.
Soren provided a few english channels which was good for me.
The galley style kitchen was small - and I did not cook on it as didnt need to.
A fridge and even dishwasher was provided if need in its compact dimensions.
The bed was a pull out sofa bed.
I found it fairly uncomfortable as a bed - the thin mattress was hard and the supports of the sofa bed were poking me when in bed.
With the bed open the access around the room was severely limited.
I did not close the bed for the duration of the stay as I couldnt be bothered folding it back each day - and also all the dust this would throw up into the room each time.
I came not to like the bedroom/living room arrangement at all.
I would not recommend this to my friends as the small room with the bed pulled out was just too small restrictive for me in the end.
To top that off - as with most CPH apartments - neighbour noise because of the wooden style floors and stair case can be an issue.
I found that when you lay in bed you head was towards the wooden staircase.
If anyone in the morning was walking up and down or late at night coming in and going to apartment and shutting doors - I could hear it much more because of the position of the bedroom.
Wasnt a huge problem as I was up by 745 every morning.
I finally like to add that the value of the money - which I knew about before i booked so no reflection on Soren.
Was not good when I think about it.
I stayed across the road the previous week for less money and had 2 bedrooms a living room and large kitchen.
The room price was low - but the cleaning price was very high, this then pushed the apartment into the price bracket of much bigger apartments.
I enjoyed my stay here - but I would not choose to stay here again.
This is no reflection on Soren - just the apartment.
Soren and his colleague Jen, who manages the property and provides assistance when Soren is unavailable or out of town, were both extremely accommodating hosts. Any time I needed anything they were available with an answer. They made a sincere effort to reach out to get to know me and help me assimilate to the apartment and area. The description of the apartment was accurate, and it is quite small if you do not have access to the bedroom. However, as just one person I had no trouble in terms of space, so long as you fold up the bed each morning. The neighborhood is absolutely perfect for a traveler or tourist. You're just a few minutes walk from nearly everything while still providing a good idea of what things are like for the locals.
There are only two things I would critique. The first is that the pull out couch is pretty springy and not exactly comfortable, but I wouldn't call it unusable if you're a fairly low maintenance person. The other suggestion I would make is to ask if there will be students in the building during your stay. There were students during my stay and it was really quite loud most nights. Lots of yelling and stomping up the stairs.
Otherwise, it was a wonderful apartment in a great location and I had an absolutely fantastic time. I would certainly recommend it to others and stay there again myself.
Søren is very service oriented. It feels like checking-in into a hotel. Fresh towels, bed linens, miniature body and hair shampoo, soap, etc… On the first day I requested a iron + board and got a brand new set right away!
Stayed for a full month. It's a small but very cosy space. I would like to call it a studio apartment. The kitchen is very well equipped and therefore very functional. Great shower! Sleeping and living area together with a sofa bed provided, a small dinning table and a wall mounted LCD. I agreed with Søren and he refrained from using the apartment during my stay and my privacy was always respected.
As noted on the ad the bedroom is not in use therefore I was confined to the three divisions aforementioned, i.e., Kitchen, WC and living/sleeping room.
There's a convenience store just up the street but you can also find a nice "gourmet" supermarket in the basement of "Magasin Du Nord" mal called "Mad&Vin". More grocery options further north.
The location well… You can't get more central than that. Nyhavn is literally around the corner, along with other main POI's including a Metro station 5 min walking.
In August some teenage students arrive to the building. They tend to be a bit noisy when going up and down the wooden stairs mostly twice a day but once inside their apartments you won't hear a thing.
In general a very good stay. Would recommend it to anyone.
I (email hidden)'s apartment for 2 months and had a delightful stay. Søren is a very responsible and helpful host and the apartment, while cozy, was very clean and conveniently located--you can walk anywhere and the Kongens Nytorv metro station is easily walkable even with luggage. There is also plenty of light during the day. There is a gated entryway so I felt especially safe (as a woman staying alone), although that's not even a concern given its location. It is right next to the canal which is a good place to take a walk or have a picnic.
Soren was an excellent host. His place was perfect; small, but efficient and very clean...ideal location. When we return to Copenhagen, we will definitely stay there again.
I spent nearly 3 (email hidden)'s place and couldn't have been more pleased with my stay. The location of the apartment really is the best location one could ask for in Copenhagen, in close proximity to public transport, shopping, tourist spots, the water, everything. Still, it's a remarkably peaceful neighborhood. The apartment itself is cozy but efficiently designed, with a beautiful bathroom, a handy kitchen (dishwasher, stove, fridge, etc.), TV, wifi and so forth. I would highly recommend the flat for both tourists and, like me, visitors staying for extended job placements.
Søren was a pleasure to interact with--a real pro with guests. He was always easy to contact, responded immediately when I accidentally locked myself out, made sure the place was clean for my arrival and really treated me like a guest in his own home. Thanks for a great stay, Søren!

About the Host, Søren
"To travel is to live" I have been welcomed so many places around the world - and I would like to welcome you to Copenhagen in my city apartment.
Allthough I would like to meet you, it is very likely that we will not meet, as I might just be away myself.
I usually only use the appartment wednessday night until thursdag noon - otherwise the appartment is pretty much vacant - making it ideal to let - for your extended weekend - for example from thursday to monday.
The apartment would be ideal for somebody traveling frequently to Copenhagen by car, as we have private gated parking in the courtyard.Being in the most central location everything is in walking distance. I often take the METRO which is just around the corner, sometimes making a stop at the beautiful harbourside to glance out on the water and the boats sailing by or just to relax in this wonderful fresh area of the city.
