About this listing

Looks out onto a beautiful garden, which is accessible in fine weather. My 2 cats and next door's (several) can be great entertainment!

The space

The garden room is a quiet and cosy room located in the back of a typical, Victorian town house, which is stylistically 'shabby chic'. It features a double bed for two. Enjoy freshly laundered pure white cotton sheets and pillowcases. It has a nice double bed with a thick futon mattress & memory foam topper and sleeps two people.

This is a quirky family house, within walking distance to city centre, plenty of buses, great tasty breakfast (organic whenever possible), free wireless internet, fun landlady, and quiet street.

We provide a good breakfast in the morning including tea, coffee, fruit, granola and oats, or toast and jam, peanut butter, etc.

The home is on a tree-lined street close to parks and the city-centre. There is an enormous and open park a short walk away with the river running through it.

There are many food options all within walking distance. There is a lovely gastropub opposite our home that is great for drinks and dinner. There is an excellent Indian restaurant close, an American diner, a Lebanese and a Thai place close as well.

There are 2 cats roaming the kitchen & sitting room so please let me know if you are allergic. They are not allowed in the bedrooms.

Cardiff being flat is great for cycling and there are bike hire places locally. We have quite a few maps of Cardiff that you can use. I have a great knowledge of the area and can help print out directions or even call you a cab to get to wherever you want to go.

Caroline is a very polite, helpful and considerate person. As this was my first time using Airbnb, I was a little dubious, but I must say if other hosts are as easy and comfortable to talk to and get along with, I'll be very happy. The house is lovely, with a homely feel and you are made to feel very welcome. Usually there's different people in the house to meet and talk to. The room is cosy, but the best thing is the bed! So comfy, I slept like a log! There's a pub right opposite which does nice food and ales, but you don't hear any noise from it, it's not that kind of pub. It's a beautiful walk into the centre (15 minutes walk), through the park and plenty of public transport available. I highly recommend Caroline's and would definitely stay here if I were to visit Cardiff again.

Caroline was a lovely host. She gave clear housekeeping instructions, allowed full access to her kitchen and left breakfast everyday. The bed too was lush; I slept like a log! Caroline also showed an interest in me as a person and was great to catch up with at the end of each day I stayed. I can highly recommend her lovely home as a place to stay.

Caroline was a very welcoming and friendly host and was very knowledgeable about the local area, recommending good restaurants and routes to take around the city. Breakfast was a very healthy and tasty homemade muesli with tea or coffee. Her house is in a tranquil residential area of the city, is clean and very conveniently located for Llandaff Cathedral which is with easy walking distance and is a bonus as parking around the Cathedral can be quite difficult. I recommend a stay with Caroline and would be very happy to stay there again myself.

I enjoyed my stay with Caroline so much. A clean, friendly and comfortable house and room. I chose to walk to town and back instead of taking the bus, it was a 30 minutes walk, but the way was easy to remember and very pleasant, especially the route through the park, but along the road was also fine. Caroline is caring and thoughtful, making sure her guests have everything they need. I definitely recommend staying at her place when you're in Cardiff. I'd book a room with her again anytime. :)

Caroline is a fantastic host. She is very friendly and easy to talk to. We had a lot of common interests and could have easily chatted all day! The property is in the nicest part of Central Cardiff and is close to many lovely pubs and places to eat.(I lived in Cardiff for 10 years). The walk in to town takes around 15 minutes and its beautiful especially if you walk through bute park. My bedroom was very cosy and the bathroom was clean. The two cats Caroline have are very cute and friendly for any fellow cat lovers! I highly recommend this property.

Hi my name is Caroline and I am listing a lovely and airy attic room located in a leafy neighbourhood. Having lived in Cardiff for over 30 years, and doing a variety of jobs, I have a wide knowledge of the city plus the surrounding area, so whatever you might be interested in, I can probably point you in a direction. I consider food to be the fuel of life, so only buy high quality ingredients for the breakfasts I serve.
