We have 2 hosts living in the building who can help with anything you may need during your stay.
To answer the questions we get asked most-
Yes, showers are free to use anytime (and have amazing water pressure!!). We have 3 bathrooms, one bathroom has a jet bath as well!
Yes, washers and dryers are free to use anytime! We have 4 washers and 3 dryers!
yes, internet is 24/7 free unlimited use! (and occassionally when available we can offer a free pocket WIFI to use outside!)
yes, we can offer a bicycle to use for free!
No, we don't have any coin timers to use the sauna, indoor/outdoor jacuzzi, BBQ etc....there is no extra cost to use anything!
The building is located just 2 minutes walk to 2 subway lines, the JR railway line, the cable car/tram line, and 5 minutes walk to the Nankai line. Namba (central Osaka) is just 1 mile away, and the entertainment district of "Minami" (Shinsaibashi) just nearby Namba. the building is located in Naniwa-ku.
This is a fully private bedroom with double bed, and a lock on the door (so kitchen and bathroom are shared and on the next floor). There is also a desk, chair and built in closet, A/C and heater. .The rooms are basic, and change with availablity, so the pictures shown may be a little different to the room that is available at the time of booking.
The room has SUPER FAST (1gb) LAN internet, which is 24/7 unlimited free use. There are also 3 wireless devices in the building, ensuring that all the 4 floors and the rooftop have access to internet.
Bathrooms (3, one has a jet bath) and toilets (4), and the 2 large fully equipped kitchens with ovens and dishwashers are for everyone to share. There are also 3 wash and dry washing machines, which are also free to use.
There is a small, but great gym with commerical equipment (treadmill, cross trainer, fat shaker, spin bike) and free weights, balls, surf machine and multi weight machine.
A large living room has cable TV, and a 42" plasma TV.
The rooftop has an 8 man Jacuzzi, 3 man sauna, BBQ and seating area. it's OK to smoke on the rooftop.
The osaka tower (tsutenkaku) is located just 4minutes on foot from the building, and can also been seen from the rooftop (while in the Jacuzzi the view is AMAZING at night with the lights of the tower on!!), and the VERY popular electronics street (denden town, Osaka's version of Tokyo's Akihabara) is just a few minutes walk away. 24hr Supermarkets, 24hr convenience stores, cafe, restaurants etc are just minutes away.
The location itself is incredible.....just 2 minutes to the train lines, 1 mile to Namba (central Osaka), 15 minutes walk (or a couple minutes by train) to tennoji. Osaka castle, Osaka aquarium, the nightlife of Namba and Umeda are either a short train ride away or a short biking distance.
There is no curfew, however there is a 11pm cut-off time for the rooftop (we have neighbours!). Our building is pet-free, smoke free (however smoking is allowed on the rooftop or outside the building) for your comfort.
The room was clean and it is close to the subway, and that's great... BUT the shared areas were a wreck of dirty dishes, dirty laundry, and trash. The rooftop was trashed: broken sauna door on the ground, cigarette butts everywhere. The area surrounding the hotel is not a place you'll want to spend time... It's a pretty tired and sad area.
Mickael est très sympathique
I really enjoyed staying in this room - the location was convenient, the quality was very high for the price, and the host was very generous with advice about the neighborhood. I would definitely stay here again, and I'd recommend it for any traveler looking for an affordable private room.
Basic accommodation, walking distance to Namba. Two minutes by foot to JR, Nankai and Subway. 24/7 supermarkets and many restaurants close by. Quiet neighbourhood. Friendly hosts. Renovation in progress. Will use again. And will refer.
Samantha and Roman were easy to communicate with before and throughout our stay. When we arrived, Roman even gave us a walking tour of the neighborhood. Apartment is very short walk from train station. No problems with the neighborhood--actually had a nice character compared to other parts of Japan we've stayed in, and was a short walk or train ride from other busy streets and neighborhoods worth visiting. Had all the amenities we needed, though it seems to be going through a short renovation stage, and will be nicer for future guests.
Thanks a lot Samantha- had a great time and will be back!
I stayed here for 9 nights. Samantha was responsive and helpful, but didn't see her much. The room is fine and suited my needs for the price. This apartment building is full of European residents who share the common spaces. I really bonded with a few of them by the end of my stay, BUT, they can also be slobs, and there were times when the kitchen and roof had multiple garbage piles/dirty dishes.
I enjoyed the area. People consider it the ghetto of Osaka. If you come from America or other countries with actual ghetto areas, you will not consider it a ghetto, but it does look kind of crappy compared to other parts of Osaka--which is fine by me. Easy to get to Namba/swish downtown-y areas. I enjoyed the contrast and being around quirky old people, etc.
The floor on the room I was staying in was kind of messed up/peeling wood, although I was assured this would be fixed for future guests.
All in all, good experience, but maybe not for everyone.
Yes, unfortuneatly with 13 people living in the building there is always going to be somebody that leaves their mess :( I think even having the housekeeper come more often still wouldn't change that....
The area is not considered ghetto, that's Nishi nari-ku, the next suburb over. The building is in Naniwa-ku, and 5 minutes walk away are million dollar luxury apartments.
That room is actually an English guys, who has been there almost 6 years, and I'm renting it out for him while he's on holiday for a month, so I wasn't aware that the floor was in not the best condition. All the other rooms the building manager, or I, get to see more regulary, so carry out repairs if necessary.
Samantha was a great host! Very friendly, accommodating and informative. The room was spacious, the guest house has everything you could possibly need, and the other residents were very friendly and outgoing. I would definitely stay here again if I ever made it back to Osaka!
Samantha was a nice host. She was very quick on responding to my inquiries, and was there to help when you needed any. The best thing about this place is price and location - 2 mins from metro and JR station and it was very convenient to go to different parts of Osaka. Room is basic, and you share the shower and toilet but there are several in the building and I didn't have to wait to use them. There's a big kitchen and lounge area on the top floor, and the balcony was nice to sit and relax at night. Everyone in the building was nice and friendly too. The portable wifi she provided was very helpful as well. Thank you Samantha!
