First let me start by saying La Rustica is a beautiful small cottage set in the middle of the Tuscan hills! Elisa and her mother greeted us soo warmly and set out cold water and wine they had made. Upon request she provided a list of some vineyards to visit for tastings which were incredible! A few things we wished we knew prior to and maybe just didn't do enough research. La Rustica does not have Wifi and cell service is limited. With 4 kids back at home it's hard not to stay connected while we were away. The accommodations we just as the pictures show, sweet and simple with a rustic charm. The pillows were thin, we ended up buying additional pillows for the beds. The sofas were not meant for lounging for periods of time. The fridge small but useful. If you happen to arrive during the hot summer there is no air conditioning only a fan. This charming little cottage is set in the country so prepare yourself for what comes with that, animals bugs and strange noises. It's important to know none of these would have stopped us from staying @ La Rustica, I believe it's just helpful to know all the details and be prepared. Thank you again Elisa for helping make our honeymoon spectacular! Much Love Danielle & Darryl

The house is lovely, in a beautiful and quiet location. We spent a nice autumn break there. The host Elisa and her parents were very welcoming and easily reachable for questions. We would love to come back soon!

Elisa's place is perfect for a relaxing and quiet break in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. Elisa's mum met us on arrival, who is lovely (her communication was brilliantly inventive as we did not speak Italian!). Elisa's communication was superb throughout - she even texted us restaurant recommendations during our stay.

Staying at "La Rustica", Elisa's place, was just what we had hoped for - great location, quiet, very cute and clean and Elisa and her parents were always helpful and accommodating. We loved the fresh flowers! I couldn't help but take lots of photos of the early morning, sun-blushed view out over the classic Tuscan countryside. We especially enjoyed the easy access to many villages and walking trails ( the Via Francigena pilgrimage trail is throughout the area). We stayed 5 nights and felt wonderfully at home! Of particular interest is to visit the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore which is quite close. It is one of the most incredible churches in the world! Be sure to see the frescoes, library and Renaissance art in the Abbey.

This is our second visit to Elisa's house and we would love to visit not only a 3rd time but every year for the rest of our lives! Elisa (and her parents) made us feel most welcome and made their home a home away from home for us. If you'd like any tips regarding the places to visit please read my previous review.
