  • Had a very nice stay at Nicholas' apartment. The location is terrific, particularly if you prefer Kensington as I do. It is very close many eateries, pubs, and shops off of either High Street or Gloucester, and within reasonable walking distance of many more in South Ken, Knightsbridge, Earl's Court, etc.

    The apartment itself has a terrific layout. It is on a quiet and very nice street. My only complaint is that the fixtures and walls could use some work (particularly in the shower area). Other than that, Nicholas has left the place very nicely appointed.

    Basically, I would stay here again and would recommend it to friends. Cheers.

  • This was our first visit to London and we enjoyed the Kensington area with all it has to offer. The apartment is located in an up-scale area within 5 min to the tube stop. There is also a nice pub and couple of pastry shops in the neighbourhood. The apartment was spacious and had all the necessary amenities. However, I would not classify it as a luxury apartment as it had water damage on the ceiling, chipping paint in the shower and stained sheets. A little decorating and sprucing up are needed improvements.

  • We spent the first five days of our honeymoon at this apartment. It is very conveniently located in a beautiful but quiet street, whilst still being close to the underground and bus stops. The apartment is quaint and well heated, but definately needs some paint and a little touch up of the interior. The kitchen is adequately stocked and allows for in-home cooking. We felt very safe as well. The only critique is that albeit that the apartment was clean, the bedding smelt stuffy because it was not dried well enough before being stored after the previous stay. I would recommend that a drier be used. The Wi-Fi was fabulous!!! Nicholas is a great host and was readily available for questions. We hope to be back at some point!

  • We felt that Nicholas was very quick to respond and was extremely polite during email and verbal conversations with him so we couldn't fault him in this sense.

    We sadly however cannot be particularly positive about the apartment, except to say that it was in an exceptionally great location and a lovely, quiet street - perfect for our needs.

    The flat was far from being luxury unfortunately. We turned up to find sheets and towels drying on radiators and the clean sheets on the bed/in cupboard were old and rust stained, no doubt from being dried in the same manner.

    The curtains were tatty, stained and barely covered the windows. It was fortunate that it was winter with low daylight, otherwise these curtains would have been pointless.

    The flat smelt of damp throughout the stay due no doubt to the substantial damp staining up the wall in the bedroom and walls surrounding the bath.

    The cooker didn't work (hob and microwave fine), nor the dishwasher, there were no plugs for kitchen sink or bath and the remote for the TV was defunct (we bought more batteries but this didn't help). Handles were missing on many kitchen / bedroom cupboards and there was a big hole in the bathroom door, where the door handle should have been and the door didn't stay closed, providing absolutely no privacy whatsoever to someone in there. Bathroom rails were missing (holes or brackets in the walls) and the bathroom cupboard was off its hinges.

    We would say that the photographs misrepresented the current state of the apartment which clearly has had far better days but now needs some serious maintenance and TLC.

    We are sorry to have to write this however we were very disheartened by our stay but at such a late stage had no where else to go. Airbnb and Nicholas agreed to a partial refund which we were grateful for.

  • A perfect stop ending an awesome holiday. Rented this apartment on the tail end of my trip and enjoyed the location and the accessibility of this flat. The flat is within blocks of pubs, historical sites, restaurants, and shops. Loved walking down the mews. Being at the tail end of our trip, we opted on one the nights to stay in and it was very easy to go shopping and get take-away for our night in. The tube station is a short walk away and you only need to walk a short distance to the main road to catch a taxi. Harrod's, Harvey Nichols, and Sloan Square are only a couple tube stops away. Loved the collection of historical books in the bedroom. Highly recommended.

  • Wonderful location. Very pretty neighborhood in stylish and central Kensington close to Tube, Hyde Park, and shopping, restaurants, etc. Unit as advertised but, as others noted, could use a makeover, particularly the bathroom. Unit very clean, well equipped, with linen, towels, kitchenware, etc. Dishwasher not working and clothes dryer very slow but these were minor issues and Nicholas very responsive. Great value.

  • Brilliant location. Good heating. Light and airy.
    Extremely comfortable bed and pillows.
    Decor a little tired and the kitchen could benefit from a few extra cups and drinking glasses but even so this apartment is great value.

  • The apartment is very comfortable and equipped with all required amenities. The location is great, walking distance from the tube station, very central, close to the local and the street is very quiet. My stay at Nicholas' apartment was very comfortable.

  • The apartment was located in a great neighbourhood close to the tube station. We felt very safe and saw a security car roaming the street every night. The apartment was very functional however, we felt that a doorknob should be added to the bathroom door. Nicholas was a good host and communication was easy.
