On a back country road, between 2 crystal clear lakes, you will find a small family farm with wide open fields, horses all around, and the occasional wild animal grazing in the pastures. We welcome you to visit.
The quaint 1 bedroom apartment ( approx. 400 sq. ft. ) is located on the second floor of the large attached barn. A new chair glide helps those that need assistance. The windows overlook the pastures and fields, allowing lots of sunlight to enter the room. A small kitchenette with a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and refrigerator allows for a convenient early breakfast, and nighttime snacks. Satellite TV and free Wi Fi are available in the apartment. A brand new queen size bed eases you off to sleep in the bedroom, and a pull-out full size bed in the living room allows for extra guests or children.
The apartment has a private entrance through the barn to the front driveway.

I cannot say enough kind things about my stay with the Horton family. They were wonderful hosts that made me feel at home. The apartment was extremely cute and cozy with all the necessities I could ever ask for. What really impressed me was how clean and organized it was. This is so nice to find when traveling away from home. I also loved looking out the window and seeing all the horses in the field. I am definitely coming back on my next trip to this area.
Betty and her husband were very friendly hosts, and they greeted us at the porch as we drove up. The house is in a beautiful part of Maine, and we were treated to a view of the horses walking out onto the field in the morning. What was great about this listing is that breakfast, coffee, muffins, water, and orange juice were offered at no additional cost, which was greatly appreciated.
The bed was very comfortable, but the bedroom had no windows so it was extremely dark at night. With the slanted roofs, it felt like sleeping in a closet. I hit my head a few times on the slanted roof because it is so low next to the bed and sink.
The mattress on the pull-out couch was extremely thin and uncomfortable. The shower is so small it's difficult to wash, and very easy to get water all over the floor.
Unfortunately the apartment wasn't that clean. There were quite a few spider webs throughout, and we even found 3 spiders in the bathroom and living room. Given that the house is on a farm it isn't that surprising.
Paul, we apologize if you did not find your stay here to your liking. I'm glad you enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The couch/ pull out bed is brand new this summer and your the first to find it uncomfortable. As far as the cleanliness, we take great pride in offering a very clean and comfortable place to stay. We hire a professional housekeeper to clean for us, and the apartment always gets a thorough go-over by myself and my son before every guests arrives. Its hard to believe we all could have missed something as obvious as spiders and webs in the corners. Thank you again for staying with us, and we hope you continue to use Airbnb.
We had a lovely stay here at Betty's place. This is a cozy apartment, super clean and very comfortable. Has everything you need, including food in the fridge and homemade muffins! We were also lucky enough to be given a dozen eggs from their chickens, which we much appreciated! The setting is gorgeous and very quiet as well. We would certainly stay here again, especially since Betty and her husband are so very kind.
What a wonderful place and great folks,it was very clean and serene. We wish we could have stayed longer and are already planning to return in the summer to explore the area. I am sure they will have good advice on the local swimming holes etc.
Very welcoming even though we requested last minute. Our luggage was carried up to our room and Betty made it clear if there was anything we needed to let her know. We had no needs as everything was there in our immaculate apartment. A better continental breakfast selection than most hotels. The apartment had so much light and the fresh sunflowers were such a nice touch!
What a wonderful getaway! I would love to be able to return when the seasons are changing. Fantastic setup and the Horton family thought of everything! Lovely hosts and lovely place! Bridgton is a quaint town and the residents are friendly. Thank you for making our stay worry free!
My wife and I had a great night on Betty's farmhouse. Betty and Walt were extremely hospitable. I would highly recommend this listing for anyone looking to find an affordable place to stay in Bridgton. They even sent us off with a dozen fresh eggs and vegetables grown in their garden!
