Where you’ll be

Alcomie, Tasmania, Australia

We are located in Forest on the beautiful NW Coast of Tasmania, home to the largest cool temperate rain forest in the southern hemisphere, rugged coastal shores and has a rich history of farming, forestry and timber production and seafood. The region is renowned for producing quality produce from the rich fertile soils and the pristine waters of Bass Strait and is close to some of the most popular tourist destinations
• 15 mins drive to Stanley a sleepy sea side town full of preserved colonial buildings, cafes and great seafood and of course home to the “Nut” a flat topped volcanic plug rising 150m straight up from the water’s edge
• 30mins drive to "Dip Falls," Big Tree, "Rocky cape" and the “Blue hills” honey farm home to the famous leatherwood honey found only in Tasmania
• 60 mins drive to Cape Grim - Shaped by wild Southern Ocean swells and abundant rainfall this area has the cleanest air in the world and is also home to the world renowned Cape Grim Beef guaranteed to be of the highest eating quality.
• 45 min drive to Tarkine Forest Reserve – Recognised as one of the world’s largest cool temperate rainforests and home to many threatened and endangered species, this 60 million year old forest, is voted by Australian Traveler magazine as one of the Top 100 things to do before you die. Tasmania’s Tarkine Wilderness is breathtaking and is simply one of the most inspiring locations to visit and is an effortless 130 km return drive from Amaroo
• 45 mins drive to Marrawah on the rugged West Coast where farming meets the sea and where big wave surfers converge to chase the massive swells that roll in from the southern ocean. Onward from there it’s a short 15 min drive to tiny township of Arthur River and the aptly named “Edge of the world”
Other notable landmarks such as Cradle Mountain, Strahan and the West Coast mining towns are within easy driving distances, as are the larger municipalities of Burnie, Devonport and Launceston. The capital Hobart is approximately 4.5-5 hrs drive

Friendly, relaxed, down to earth couple who have swapped city life for the peace and quiet of the country. Seasoned travellers and fitness lovers, we enjoy being active and the outdoors which suits us as there is always something to do on the farm... :) When not working, hosting or travelling, we enjoy the comforts of home breathing in the purest air in the world, whilst eating fresh Tasmanian produce and watching picturesque sunrises and sunsets sipping a good glass of red. :) Note: We are PRO choice when comes to vaccination status and do not discriminate so everybody is welcome.
