If you are coming to Tampa and you are involved with USF a Home away from Home is an oasis in the desert! Marsha is the most gracious , caring, attention to detail hostess you could ask for. The home is centrally located with FABOULUS bus access to USF, a huge shopping mall and lots of restaurants. The home is charming and the rooms are spacious with great closets to hung up your clothes and lots of drawers, especially if you are planning a longer stay. Your room will provide with everything, night table, TV, fan, night lamp all you need to study or simply rest after a long day. Breakfast is self-serve and if you want to bring your own food the fridge is great. She also provides with a kitchen if you are interested in cooking you own meals. I even had a mini-firdge in my room. Marsha keeps the bathroom shinning!. She is very private, friendly, trustworthy and ACCOMODATING! Don’t spend your precious $$$ in a hotel especially if your business commitment does not allow you any free time. A home away from Home is quiet private environment . Marsha will be a friend forever. Thank you Marsha for all your help and what you did for me. I look forward to seeing you soon.
I can't say enough wonderful things about Marsha! The house was clean, comfy and VERY private, with Marsha around the corner available to answer any questions any time! Our room was lovely, especially the towels she folded up like little elephants :). We had many great conversations and she was very helpful in pointing us towards good places to eat and play. The food she provided for breakfast was healthy and bountiful, and we appreciated being able to use her alkaline water filter.
I was surprised to find the area was full of amazing food, all within walking distance from the house. I would really recommend the Vietnamese restaurant Trang Vietnam and the Indian restaurant jai ho. Some of the the best food I have ever eaten!! Although we didn't go to Busch gardens or the university, we walked by several times and they are both extremely close. There is also a nice park right in the neighborhood.
I'm so glad to have met Marsha and stayed in her lovely home. I would recommend it to anybody! Thank you!
Marsha is a charming generous women who knows the meaning of hospitality. She knows her neighbourhood, cares about cleanliness and comfort, and is respectful to your needs.
Marsha's home was so comfortable, SO CLEAN, and so pleasant. It's out of the way -- I was taking a city bus each day to the national convention, and it took quite a while. But the price was fantastic, and she took such thoughtful care of us, down to little muffins, etc., and always fresh hot coffee. My room was small and pretty, with tons of closet space, no problem with wi-fi, the bed was delicious, and I shared the bath with another guest. Things are thought out; we each had our own towel bar, etc., so we wouldn't get confused, and terrycloth robes for modesty.
Marsha was a lovely woman sharing a very nice home. I totally scored on that trip.
I stayed with Marsha for a month while on a medical rotation at USF. Overall it was a positive experience. Marsha is a very accommodating hostess and easily accessible. The house is very close to USF, which was very convenient. Marsha provides breakfast, clean towels/linens, and toiletries. My only complaints are minor, including the room is a little cramped, the internet is slow/wireless is a little spotty, and there is no cable (no ESPN was difficult for me to get used to). However, given the cost, it was a good value. If I were traveling to the Tampa area and don't want to spend the money for a hotel, this is a great option.
Marsha Spence has been a great host, she has a lovely personality and goes above and beyond her duties as a host to ensure that your stay is one of comfort and satisfaction. Her accomodation was excellent and I would recommend anyone to stay here when visiting Tampa, FL.
I had an exceptionally fine experience staying with Marsha Spence, my host for the past two months. Marsha was totally committed to providing me with every attention and detail of service. She maintained the cleanliness of my room spaces, bathroom, and kitchen with constant diligence. She always had some breakfast meals available with fresh fruits and special Kangen water. Her knowledge of the local community shopping center and university was invaluable. In short she was a consummate Airbnb innkeeper who will certainly be on my short list should I have a future opportunity to be in Tampa in the future.
Marsha is a wonderful host, who puts your comfort first. I look forward to staying with her again on my next visit to Tampa!!!
