About this listing
Private, quiet room in an apartment located just off Parallel, connected to Metro L3 (green) and L2 (purple). The room is spacious, with a double bed, wardrobe, desk and private balcony. Ridiculously fast Wi-Fi. Access to shared bathroom and living room. Close to many amenities and attractions!
If Airbnb says the room is available, it is available — instead of messaging to ask if it's available, simply go ahead and book!
I am friendly and open-minded, and I want my home to be as comfortable for you as it is for me! You can use the Wi-Fi, bathroom, living room, and TV at any time.
The bed is a full 140 cm (55") wide and 200 cm (79") long, with a top-quality thick, firm mattress, luxurious soft sheets, and medium-firm pillows. It's a bed I would be happy to sleep on every night myself!
Please note that there are pets in this home.
In addition to your private room with your own balcony, you will have access to the bathroom, living room, and TV including Netflix and local channels in Spanish and Catalan. You will receive your own keys to the building/apartment, and you can come and go at any time as you please.
Interaction with guests
I work partially from home, and am available for any questions, suggestions, etc that you have about the city or the apartment; if I'm not in the apartment when you need to reach me, simply send me a message via the Airbnb app or website. Otherwise, I will stay out of your way as much as possible to ensure your privacy and your quiet enjoyment of the space.
Poble Sec is an up-and-coming neighbourhood that is still quiet but yet enjoys an excellent location. In one direction you'll find Plaça Espanya, the Magic Fountain, Montjuïc, and the train to Montserrat, and in the other direction is Port Vell, Las Ramblas, Plaça Catalunya, and the beach!
The apartment has a great central location within the neighbourhood of Poble Sec, well connected with metro and buses. A supermarket, pharmacy, bakery, butcher, fruit/vegetable shop, etc are all within a 2-3 minute walk. Plenty of restaurants, cafés, and tobacconists are also nearby. Carrer Blai, one of the best pedestrian-only streets full of tapas bars, cafés, and restaurants, is only steps away.
Metro Parallel is a three-minute walk from the apartment, with connections to any part of the city via L2 (purple) and L3 (green) - such as Sagrada Família, Plaça Catalunya, Las Ramblas, Passeig de Gracia, Plaça Espanya, Casa Batllo, La Pedrera, etc.
Several bus routes are available within a three minute walk from the apartment, and will take you directly to the beach, Park Güell, and other places the metro doesn't easily get to (such as the Cementiri de Montjuïc).
You can easily walk to Port Vell (at the bottom of Las Ramblas) in about 10-15 minutes if you'd like to enjoy the beautiful waterfront marina. While you're there, enjoy a boat tour of the harbour with Las Golondrinas!
Other things to note
My home is 100% LGBTQ-friendly.
The apartment is regrettably not wheelchair-accessible; there are two flights of stairs between the front door and the apartment. (I can help with your bags.)
Please guard the keys closely, as it costs me €100 to replace them (and, in the event of loss, I will need to recover this amount from you).
In your room for your exclusive use: Super comfy bed (thick, firm non-latex foam mattress and plush pillows), bed linens and blankets, towels, nightstand and lamp, wardrobe, desk, and fan or heater depending on the season (or you can use both if you want!). You may also enjoy unlimited use of the Nescafé Dolce Gusto hot drink maker in your room.
Also in your room is a plug adapter so you can plug in things with non-European plugs such as laptops (but read the labels on your devices to verify they can handle 230V before plugging them in!), and a high-power USB charger for your portable devices (phone, iPad, etc). There is also a laundry basket, drying rack, and hair dryer.
On the desk at check-in is a welcome package of bottled water, snacks, and tourist info, as well as the printed House Manual with valuable information about the apartment, the neighbourhood, and the city.
The towels and bed linens will be freshly washed for your arrival, as well as approximately once a week during your stay.
Need to print a boarding pass, or fax something? You may use the black-and-white multifunction laser printer/scanner/copier/fax for reasonable use at no extra charge.
Luggage storage is available prior to check-in time (and after check-out) at no extra charge.
If you would like your clothing washed and dried, I'm happy to do so for you at no charge using my hypoallergenic soap; just ask and it's done.
I am at your service if you would like information and personalized recommendations on the city, getting around town, tourist attractions, and restaurants.
Respect my privacy, and I will respect yours. I want you to be comfortable!
Respect the neighbours, especially with noise after hours (23:00—07:00).
Smoking is permitted ONLY on the balcony with the door closed behind you. The balconies have chairs and tables so you can relax while outside.
Please do not bring guests of your own to the flat; there are plenty of cafés and bars nearby to meet friends.
The kitchen appliances are regrettably not available for guest use.
Check in time is 3:00 PM, but, upon prior agreement, you can check in earlier at no extra charge if the room is ready for you (for example, if the room was not occupied the previous night).
Check out time is 10:00 AM, but this is flexible if there is no guest checking in the same day you are checking out. I'm happy to hold your luggage for a few hours after check-out.
In the event of lost keys, you agree to pay €100 per set lost (as I will have to pay a locksmith to have new keys made).
I'm clean, quiet, and friendly. I've been an Airbnb guest in the past, so I think that makes me a better host!
I enjoy spending time with my friends, reading, listening to music, and spending time outdoors. I love Barcelona as it provides so many things to do on a daily basis. There are still so many things I haven't even seen yet!
My first language is English, but I also speak some Spanish, Catalan, and French.
