Private, quiet room in an apartment located just off Parallel, connected to Metro L3 (green) and L2 (purple). The room is spacious, with a double bed, wardrobe, desk and private balcony. Ridiculously fast Wi-Fi. Access to shared bathroom and living room. Close to many amenities and attractions!

If Airbnb says the room is available, it is available — instead of messaging to ask if it's available, simply go ahead and book!

The space

My girlfriend and I are friendly and open-minded, and we want our home to be as comfortable for you as it is for us! You can use the Wi-Fi, bathroom, living room, and TV at any time.

The bed is a full 140 cm (55") wide and 200 cm (79") long, with a top-quality thick, firm mattress, luxurious soft sheets, and medium-firm pillows. It's a bed I would be happy to sleep on every night myself!

Please note that there is a cat in this home.

Guest access

In addition to your private room with your own balcony, you will have access to the bathroom, living room, and TV including Netflix and local channels in Spanish and Catalan. You will receive your own keys to the building/apartment, and you can come and go at any time as you please.

Interaction with guests

My girlfriend works partially from home. She and I are available for any questions, suggestions, etc that you have about the city or the apartment; if we're not in the apartment when you need to reach one of us, simply send us a message via the Airbnb app or website. Otherwise, we will stay out of your way as much as possible to ensure your privacy and your quiet enjoyment of the space.

Other things to note

This home is 100% LGBTQ-friendly.

The apartment is regrettably not wheelchair-accessible; there are two flights of stairs between the front door and the apartment. (We can help with your bags.)

Please guard the keys closely, as it costs us €100 to replace them (and, in the event of loss, we will need to recover this amount from you).

In your room for your exclusive use: Super comfy bed (thick, firm non-latex foam mattress and plush pillows), bed linens and blankets, towels, nightstand and lamp, wardrobe, desk, and fan or heater depending on the season (or you can use both if you want!). You may also enjoy unlimited use of the Nescafé Dolce Gusto hot drink maker in your room.

Also in your room is a plug adapter so you can plug in things with non-European plugs such as laptops (but read the labels on your devices to verify they can handle 230V before plugging them in!), and a high-power USB charger for your portable devices (phone, iPad, etc). There is also a laundry basket, drying rack, and hair dryer.

On the desk at check-in is a welcome package of bottled water, snacks, and tourist info, as well as the printed House Manual with valuable information about the apartment, the neighbourhood, and the city.

The towels and bed linens will be freshly washed for your arrival, as well as approximately once a week during your stay.

Need to print a boarding pass, or fax something? You may use the black-and-white multifunction laser printer/scanner/copier/fax for reasonable use at no extra charge.

Luggage storage is available prior to check-in time (and after check-out) at no extra charge.

If you would like your clothing washed and dried, I'm happy to do so for you at no charge using my hypoallergenic soap; just ask and it's done. We'll load and unload the machine for you.

We are at your service if you would like information and personalized recommendations on the city, getting around town, tourist attractions, and restaurants.

The beautiful time spent in Barcelona we can also thank to this remarkable trio-Brinley,Prettzel and Alex! The private room was awesome with a cute balconey on which you can drink a coffe dolce gusto from a machine in the room. Perfect way to start a day. Every part of the flat was clean and Alex and Brinely even allowed us to even use fridge on wich we are sooo thankful! the street is prrety busy from early morning to late at night but we did not mind it becouse we love to be part of the breathing and living city. Prettzel is best cat we met. Ever. So fluffy we coud die! Public transport is also great but we did not use it much as we love to travel by foot and to reach la rambla you need just 10-15 min easy walking. All in all,it was our best airbnb experience, and tkank you guys on it! On everything. You raised the ladder soo high!

We had a fantastic time at Alex's apartment. Alex and Brinley are wonderful people, you can really tell they have a lot of experience as hosts. They were really helpful by providing things like maps of the city, bottles of water, sunscreen and coffee. The room has a really cosy balcony with a great view over the city and the location is very nice. Poble Sec is a peaceful neighbourhood and well connected with the rest of the city through the metro network. The cat Pretzel is easy as you like and funny as well. We would certainly recommend the apartment!

Alex and Brinley were great hosts. They gave us lots of good recommendations and were always happy to help/answer any queries we had. The flat itself was clean, in a good location that was well connected and just minutes away from really nice places to eat. Would definitely recommend

I loved staying in Alex's place. The flat was very clean and had everything you'd need when traveling - the room even had a coffee machine! Obviously, the cat Pretzel is the main reason to stay there - he's such a wonderful host :) The flat is very close to a metro station and within a walking distance to the Gothic Quarter. Alex also provided great instructions on how to get to the flat and how to reach other places. The communication with Alex was very swift which is always very assuring when visiting a new place! Overall, we'll definitely stay in Alex's flat again when we visit Barcelona. Cannot recommend it enough!

Excellent location. Accommodation like in picture. The roller shutter of door going onto the tiny terrasse was not working which made it hard to sleep as we had the light of the convenience store and from the street right into our eyes. Also to change in the bedroom with the apartment across having a full view into our bedroom was not very confortable for us. My daughter and I were not very confortable coming back late because of several homeless people in the little park down the street who made aggressive comments to my daughter. Nothing the hosts can fix but guests should be aware of it (I do not know if it is like that all year around).

Response from Alex:
We're glad you enjoyed your stay in our home and we apologise for any misunderstandings or inconveniences in regards to the room. As shown in the photos, the room is equipped with two full-length curtains that completely cover the balcony doors when closed, therefore the apartments across the street do not have any view into the room as long as they are closed. In regards to the safety of the nearby neighbourhood, the square at the end of our street is lively and active until the early hours of the morning. It is not an overly busy area, but is a very popular spot for kids to play football and people (locals and tourists alike) to gather and chat into the wee hours of the morning. The square is very safe, and neither I, nor my girlfriend, nor any of our previous guests have ever said they felt unsafe anywhere in this neighbourhood at any time. We apologise for any discomfort that you experienced. Thanks again for staying with us, and we hope that you return to experience our beautiful city again soon!

Hello there!

I'm clean, quiet, and friendly. I've been an Airbnb guest in the past, so I think that makes me a better host!

I enjoy spending time with my friends, reading, listening to music, and spending time outdoors. I love Barcelona as it provides so many things to do on a daily basis. There are still so many things I haven't even seen yet!

My first language is English, but I also speak some Spanish, Catalan, and French.
