Your room is located in the back of the hostel off the kitchen and good for couples and solo adventurers. While the space is small and cozy, you have access to the large dinning, kitchen, and movie areas. This room contains 2 twin XL beds (for tall folks). The bath is in the hall with a large shower and shared with those staying in the bunks. Gear can be stored at the foot of the bed or if you need more space, we have an area in the mechanical room.

The space
This room is by the back entrance where the BBQ and picnic table are located. For cooking and eating you have a spacious kitchen and dinning area plus a refrigerator and cupboards for your food stuff. Enjoy a movie in the sitting area while you are here, we have hundreds of DVDs to choose from.

Guest access
Kitchen is large, with cooking and refrigerator privileges. Guests are expected to clean up kitchen, dinning area and living area after themselves and contribute to the community spirit of cooperation. We have a common area with several tables for meals. The bunks are located by the common area with the TV and couch and only separated by curtains. Therefore the quiet hours must be strictly observed. Other than that, its pretty relaxed here.

In the center of town, you will love the walking paths and good location. The courthouse is beside our place to the east. The grocery is a few blocks to west and Fast Eddy's restaurant is a couple blocks to the east. There are walking paths up and down the highway throughout town.

I am a local businessman who runs a campground and hostel with my sister, Shelly. I design and build burner units and transfer bins (for rural community trash) and wood cook stoves for real Alaskans. My factory is located just down the road, (two buildings east of campground, [campground is located at mile post 1313 Alaska Highway]), you are welcome to drop by and see how we make wood stoves. Life motto...I think maybe my first thought would be to, 'do no harm', or at least to the extent possible to lighten my impact on our environment. During the winter we close the campground facilities first. Then we close the Hostel sometime in October. So the 'Rustic' room upstairs at my house is the only option available late in the year. Please check the calendar for our offerings as things change due to time of year and circumstances. Thanks, Chris
