The Space

We offer an accomodation in two modern designed and comfortable rooms of our house - each has private bathroom, each room has approx. 20 square meters.
There is one garrage available for you (and many parking places around the house) and one fitness room in the house.
There is (email hidden) connection available in our house. There is no kitchen available for guests, but breakfast is included in the price and you will have a fridge, kettle and microwave oven available in the room.
The house is owned by my parents, who live there in another floor. They speak english and russian.
The price is 12 Euro per night per each person. During the top season (Christmass, Easter) the price is 24 Euro for the first person but just 12 Euro for each another person (as you see in calendar). In the case of more people, discount is possible. Minimum stay is 2 guests for 2 nights.
Accomodation is in a village called Gánovce - it is a village with a new small modern spa with special mineral water which helps with treatment of musculoskeletal and skin disorders. The village is 3 km near Poprad town, which is a gate to the High Tatras - the biggest mountains in Slovakia, where you can go hiking in summer or skiing in winter. Our village is also 10 km from National Park Slovak Paradise, where you can discover beautiful places by walk and by climbing the ledders.
Around our region you can find a large spectrum of karst formations - underground caves and holes.
Also there are many villages and small towns with interesting historical relics and of course the ruins of Spiš Castle, which is one of the biggest castle in Central Europe and it was included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1993.
We can help you with your trip planning and of course we are looking forward to your visit! For more information just contact us.

Check In
  • This accommodation is a very good choice for visiting the High Tatras. It is located in a small quit town just outside of Poprad. Taxi ride from train station is around 10 minutes.
The room was very big and comfortable. The WIFI access was very good and I had no problems with losing connection. The breakfast was always big and very delicious.
I never met Katarina but her parents Jan and Katarina are very excellent host and will help you with anything you may need or want to know. Jan speaks very good English [which was very helpful for me] and Katarina also is able to speak a little English so I had no problems with communication.
Thank you Jan for the very tasty soup you made for me and a big thank you for excellent halouski [I know I spelled this wrong] that was made for me. It was one meal I have always liked and yours was perfect!
Hopefully in the future I will be able to come a stay there again.

  • This place is a great choice for those who need a base to see the beauty of Slovakian highlands. It is located in a very quiet area within a walking distance of open air thermal swimming pools. There is a well equipped gym on the premises, and the windows offer a unique perspective. Katarina is a bit elusive, but her parents are helpful in planning a great day out and offer delicious breakfast. Hope to visit this place again.

  • I visited Katarina and Jan (Katarinas parents) with my girlfriend and we agreed that the the accommodation was simply perfect! The room was really spacious, very comfortable and clean. Katarina and Jan were unbelievably kind and caring (the homemade plum cake from Katarina was delicious!) and it was always very nice to be in their company. We enjoyed the small wooden garden house where we had breakfast and dinner and we also had lot of fun with Justin (the sheepdog) who was very playful. The taxi ride to the railway station in Poprad where we were setting off for our trips to High Tatras was just 3 Euro and it took not even 10 minutes to get there. We are very glad to recommend this accommodation and we are looking forward to coming back one day.

  • My sister, her boyfriend and I stayed at Katarina's place for 3 nights, and I must say we had a very pleasant time during our stay at her place. Katarina was extremely easy to communicate with, and super quick to respond via email. There were actually some problems with their house (where we were supposed to initially stay) due to flooding, which she let us know a few days in advance, and therefore we ended up staying at her apartment at Poprad (listed here: The apartment was extremely clean, cozy, and well-decorated, and really made us feel at home. I have stayed at many places through Airbnb, and with no exaggeration this is one of the nicest places I have stayed in. The kitchen was also well-equipted with all the utensils one might need for cooking, and she was also kind enough to leave us plenty of food upon our arrival (such as eggs, milk, cheese, ham, bread, tomatoes, etc), which came in very handy during our stay. The location of the apartment is also great. It is right at the centre of Poprad, you literally walk for two minutes and you get to many nice shops, cafes, restaurants and bars (and a local market with fresh vegetables and fruits). There was also a nice pizza place called Barcalino close by where we got pizza for dinner twice during our stay and really liked it. There are also two big supermarkets (Kaufland and Supernova) which are both a 3-mintes drive from the apartment. Finally, there is a great place called Aquacity which has very nice thermal pools, and is a very nice place to relax after a long day of hiking. Finally, this place is very well-located for those who are in the area for hiking the high Tatras and Slovensky Raj, we had a car and within a 20-minute drive we could get to nice starting points for hiking (BTW, there is a tourist information centre two minutes from the apartment (located at Štefániková 99/72) where you can get great maps of both High Tatras and Slovensky Raj (which are usually sold for 6-7 Euros) for FREE, they can also give you plenty of information about different hikes). All in all, this is a great place to stay, we could not possibly think of a better alternative. I very strongly recommend this place to Airbnb travellers.

  • My husband and I had a wonderful time at Katarina's home! We had the whole basement to ourselves. It was a very comfortable room. We never actually met Katarina, but her parents were great hosts! They made us feel very welcome! We asked for suggestions of places to eat and they made us a list of their top 3 and brought down the computer with maps to show us how to get there. We tried all 3 and enjoyed them very much! The breakfast was always more than we could eat and was very delicious! They made us cookies each day, which we enjoyed greatly! It was in a wonderful location and was easy to get anywhere. We would suggest it and would stay again if we are ever in the area again!!

  • We had a wonderful time at Jan and Katarina's lovely house. It is conveniently located just 5 minutes drive away from the center of Poprad and easily accessible by taxi, however, the neighbourhood looks like a remote mountain village. Jan and Katarina were very hospitable, gave us lots of valuable tips on what to do and where to go, and the breakfasts were so yummy, especially the jams!.. and the honey, and all the other things. The dwelling is very clean, spacey (could be enough for even 5 people (especially compact girls like ourselves=)
and we loved the dog!!! real mountain dog!=)
Thank you very much for the weekend!

  • My partner and I stayed at Katarina's place for three nights whilst visiting the beautiful High Tatras and it has been one of the best places we have stayed whilst on our European adventure!

Katarina and her parents were so welcoming and helpful for the duration of our stay and we felt right at home. We loved the coziness and privacy of the place but felt that at all times we had somebody there to call upon if we needed anything. Katarina's father Jan often popped his head out to say hello whenever we arrived home which was a really nice homely touch for us.

Breakfast is provided and it is delicious and very generous! Katarina, Jan and Katarina's mum (I'm sorry, we didn't catch your name!!) drove us to town each morning that we were there which was a really big help. They always offered to come and collect us whenever we wanted too, but their place us just a short and affordable taxi ride from Poprad (around €5). It is quite conveniently located.

Each day we caught the electric train/tram up into the mountains from Poprad which is also quite affordable (€4 for a day pass) and we visited some beautiful places. Jan was always very helpful with suggestions of places to go and things to do.

Last but not least, we had a wonderful time playing with Justin - what an awesome dog!! He is very big but extremely lovable, playful but very gentle and surprisingly well behaved and obedient! He made us laugh every day!

We would most definitely recommend staying here and hope to do so again sometime!

  • We arrived late at night and Katarina's mum collected us, from the main road, because we were lost.
Since that moment, Katarina (mum) and her husband (dad) looked after us like their own; recommended to us where to go in Slovak Paradise and in High Tatras.
We had home made honey and jams for breakfasts, mint tea at any time of the day, own bathroom, garage space.
Justin, the dog was super friendly.

    We completely recommend this place.
