Come enjoy our quiet oasis nestled in the pinon-juniper forest of SW Colorado! Located just 8 miles N of the airport and 9 miles E of Durango, we’re close enough to enjoy Durango’s nightlife, but far enough out of town to get a restful night's sleep.

The space

As our over 200 positive reviews attest, Our Ranch is a great place to stay, but know that we cannot accommodate young children or pets (no exceptions), nor do we offer laundry or kitchen privileges. No reservation request will be considered without a complete Airbnb Profile, including the About Me section where you describe a bit about yourself; ID Verification alone is not enough. If that works for you, please read on...

Our closest neighbor is 1/2 mile away so the view from every window is that of mountains, fields and forests. The sunny, south-facing bedroom windows are nearly floor to ceiling, so don't be surprised if you awake to a deer or bunny peeking in at you! We have plenty of space for parking multiple vehicles including trailers with easy turn-around access.

Our Ranch has a private trail that weaves through the woods on which morning or evening strolls are great for spotting wildlife. For mountain bikers we're only a couple of miles from a public trailhead that leads to endless miles of riding. These same trails are open to horses, so if you're here to ride, we're where you want to be!

Our dog Zeke, a lovable, yellow Labrador retriever, has never met an Airbnb guest he didn't love. He'll likely greet you with enthusiasm--but doesn't bark, lick, sniff, jump up or bother--he just wants to meet new friends!

Horses are welcome to overnight at Our Ranch for an extra charge of $25 per horse per night (summer only): We have two, large irrigated pastures each with a pond and trees. We have easy trailer access and parking. We have a round pen, so your horse is ready for a quick get-away in the morning. Ginger rides extensively in the local mountains, so she can give you directions to many different trails.

Guest access

Your bedroom is located on the first floor and equipped with a comfy, queen-size bed, a desk for your laptop (fast wi-fi included) and plenty of shelf and hanging closet space for your belongings. Across the hall from your room is a full bath. The living room is open for your relaxation and there's a picnic table outside. Privacy is enhanced by the host's bedroom and bath being on the second floor. The guest-room/bed accommodates two; we do not accept small children.

Interaction with guests

We are world travelers and enjoy meeting new people. We can be outgoing and interactive or respect your privacy, whichever you prefer. We're fluent in English, but can communicate in Spanish and Portuguese.

Other things to note

We pride ourselves on being an environmentally friendly household. Our modern home’s passive solar design keeps us cozy in the winter and cool in the summer. Our solar showers are heated by rooftop hot-water panels which also provide in-floor space heating. If you’re staying with us in the winter, your feet will appreciate the warm tile! We’re connected to the electrical grid (so there’s no need to worry about running out of juice), but all of our power comes from clean, renewable energy. If you’re interested in learning more about solar design, Jeremiah loves to share his knowledge. We avidly practice the 5 R's: Reduce - Reuse - Repurpose - Recycle - Rot (compost).

We look forward to hosting your visit to Our Ranch in beautiful Durango, Colorado!

Ginger and Jeremiah are very conscientious about their place and providing everything that guests would need to know, especially for hiking or biking in southern CO. Having general contracted a house myself, I respect the design and workmanship that went into theirs.

Jeremiah is a super host. It's a peaceful place and I recommend staying here. My girlfriend really liked it, too. On the other hand, I would like to see Jeremiah add Raider Ridge Cafe to his restaurant recommendation list. Buy the Bear Pie smoothie: it will change your life. Their breakfasts are good, too. Thanks for sharing with us your stories, Jeremiah. You're a great guy.

Everything about our stay at Ginger and Jeremiah's Ranch was fantastic! Although we did not get to meet Ginger (she was away at a retreat), Jeremiah was a most attentive host in her absence. Their gorgeous 125 acre setting is just a few miles from the city of Durango and served as a perfect hub for our 3 night visit (Mesa Verde, 45 min away; Durango Silverton Railroad, 15 min away; several craft breweries and more). ~ As a former park ranger himself, Jeremiah was a wealth of knowledge about Mesa Verde and many other parks. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable, and we really appreciated Ginger and Jeremiah's significant efforts towards sustainability and environmental responsibility. This is what airbnb is all about!

My husband and I stayed with Ginger and Jeremiah while visiting the surrounding national parks. The house and surrounding property is gorgeous and very close to Durango. Ginger set out bagels and coffee in the morning, and Jeremiah had lots of advice about the parks. Zeke the dog was also a gracious welcome committee. It was also really interesting to learn about their home and its sustainability features. We would definitely stay here again.

We spent two nights at The Ranch. Ginger was so helpful with clear information about our arrival. The room and bathroom were super clean and comfortable. We loved spending time talking to Jeremiah about his travels and photography. We also felt like we had total privacy even though we were staying in their house. Easy trip into downtown Durango!

Ginger & Jeremiah User ProfileGinger & Jeremiah is a superhost.

We're avid world travelers who love to explore new places and meet the people who live there.

Ginger’s been working with children her entire professional life. She started at a boarding school outside of Sedona, AZ and from there went on to N California to work at a residential treatment facility for teenagers--introducing them to wilderness. She worked for the Student Conservation Association in the Ansel Adams Wilderness doing trail work and for the past 20 years has been teaching elementary school in Aztec, NM. She loves nearly every outdoor activity, including running, hiking, canoeing, backpacking, bicycling and horseback riding.

Jeremiah spent years as a national park ranger and whitewater raft guide before starting an outdoor clothing company, here in Durango. These days he spends much of his time traveling around the world on his adventure motorcycle and pursuing his passion for writing and photography. From climbing to diving, spelunking to paragliding, he loves to be outside!
