This beautiful home was built in the 1700s when Kentucky was still Virginia. The stone structure in the center of the home was the first Court House in Woodford County built circa 1785. The original hardwood floors in each room are exquisite and soft to walk on. High ceilings give a grande feeling. New kitchen appliances and dishware add an eclectic feel against the antique furniture. Comfortable couches and a brand new queen-size bed will assure a good night's sleep. Washer and Dryer too!

The space
Longtime lovers of art, we decided to celebrate local artists at the Old Courthouse Inn. An exciting perk during your stay will be to not only enjoy the art on the wall but take it home if you want! The paintings featured are for sale. Currently, we are proud to display paintings from Johny Lackey and Keith Ross.

I am an author, creative writing professor, lifelong traveler and founder and editor of a small publishing company, Rabbit House Press. My memoir, June Bug Versus Hurricane was published in 2017 and a collection of essays, Cinderella Sweeping Up came out in 2019. I worked as an actress for over twenty years in Hollywood doing theatre, television and films.

My husband, Mark Thomas also returned home after living in Washington DC for over twenty years where he worked at the Smithsonian Museum's National Portrait Gallery. He later turned his attention to the hotel, bar and restaurant industry in Dupont Circle. He created inviting atmospheres alongside world-renowned chefs such as Jose Andres and Gregory Hill. His love of food, art, travel and history make hosting an Airbnb a perfect fit for him as well.

We are so proud of our renovation of this historic home in downtown Versailles and look forward to making your visit to beautiful Woodford County so special you will return to the Old Courthouse Inn again and again.
