About this listing
Stay in your own lovely studio flat right in the heart of Queens Park village - near a range of local restaurants, bars, and an award-winning weekly organic farmers market. The Bakerloo line 4 minutes away gives access to the rest of the city.
Instead of renting a room why not have a whole flat to yourself? The space is a warm and quiet 300 square foot studio, accommodates two guests, and includes its own kitchen with gas stove and electric oven, comfortable 4ft wide bed (small double), sofa, and compact shower room and toilet. Doors open onto some outside space, but this belongs to the flat next door.
+GETTING AROUND LONDON
It's a stone's throw from three tube and train lines - the perfect base for exploring the city. Queens Park tube station is 4 minutes walk and has two lines - the Bakerloo line stops at many tourist spots (Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Charing Cross for Trafalgar Square) as well as Paddington and Waterloo mainline stations. A further short line gets you to Euston mainline station in about 10 minutes. Brondesbury Park station is an 8 minute walk, and takes you on the Overground train to places like Hampstead, Camden, Shoreditch, Islington and Hackney.
As well as easy public transport, on-street car parking is available for £1.50 a day during the week and there's Zipcars within a few minutes walk for trips out of town.
The bed is a 4ft small double, so about 6 inches narrower (cosier!) than a standard double - its best that you know this if you're used to a king! Fast wireless internet is included, so bring your laptop or smartphone.
As I normally only rent my flat out for a week or less, I'd prefer the washer was not used. Guests have broken it on two occasions now, sorry :-( UPDATE: the washer is now broken. There is a launderette 2 minutes away.
Additional cleaning and a sheets and towels change will be arranged at the middle of longer stays, and I'll be on hand at check-in and check-out, so if you've never been to London before then I can provide some hints and tips on where best to go and how to get around easily. I normally meet guests for check-in and can give guests a pay-as-you-go mobile phone to contact me if there are any problems during your stay.
+HOW TO BOOK
I keep the calendar up-to-date. I ALWAYS get back to you super fast - all enquiries go to my mobile so expect a reply within the hour. Please let me know what time you expect to get into London at/before your booking.
Please don't hesitate to message with any further enquiries - I can sometimes accommodate different check-in check-out time requests as long as you give notice, e.g. if your flight arrives early or leaves in the evening. Please just message first to check - I can't always accommodate very late check-ins in the evening so please let me know what time you expect to arrive into London when you make your booking.
P.S. No smokers please! Sorry :-)
You have access to the whole studio flat. Unfortunately you don't have access to the small garden.
Interaction with Guests
I normally meet guests for check-in and can give guests a pay-as-you-go mobile phone to contact me if there are any problems during your stay.
Queens Park is a lovely quiet area, only 15-20 minutes from Central London. Everything you need day-to-day is within a 3 minute walk of the flat. There are restaurants, bars and small local shops on Salusbury Road and two stations (Queens Park and Brondesbury Park). On Sundays there is a farmers market, and the park itself is a delight.
Queens Park tube station is 4 minutes walk and has two lines - a short line gets you to Euston mainline station in about 10 minutes, while the Bakerloo line stops at many tourist spots (Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Charing Cross for Trafalgar Square) as well as Paddington and Waterloo mainline stations.
Brondesbury Park station is an 8 minute walk, and takes you on the Overground to places like Hampstead, Camden, Shoreditch, Islington and Hackney.
Easiest airport is Heathrow - fast or slow trains to Paddington and a few stops on the tube from there. There are also trains to West Hampstead from Gatwick and Luton airports - from West Hampstead to Brondesbury Park is only 2 stops on the Overground.
Other Things to Note
No smoking please! Please let me know approximately what time you expect to arrive into London at/before the booking page - I cannot always accommodate very early or late check in requests but I'll do my best!
Thank-you for choosing my place on airbnb. I don't run the flat as a business - I live here when there aren't guests - so please treat my flat well and I'll try my hardest to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
Please note: I cannot accept guests under 18 in the flat.
I've been blessed to have good neighbours - please treat the other flat owners in the building courteously as you would do at home - make sure you keep the front door closed and don't play loud music. And definitely no smoking please! It takes forever to get that smell out.
The flat has fast wireless internet and I'll write the password down for you on your arrival. There is a full kitchen (electric oven, gas stove, microwave and small fridge/freezer) and again I'll show you how to use the appliances and safety features on your arrival.
