The Space

My one bedroom studio is the perfect place for anyone looking for a hotel alternative that is close to the city. The apartment is conveniently located just minutes from the Loop, and would be all privately yours for the duration of your stay.

It comes fully furnished with bookcases (which are home to some great reading materials), a futon-couch, a desk, a full sized, super comfy bed, and a thinking chair.

The apartment is located on Dearborn Street, in between Old Town & the Gold Coast.

- 5 minute walk to North Avenue beach & Lincoln Park

- Around the corner from Clark, Broadway, North, & Armitage CTA buses

  • Kasia was a great host! Her place was very clean. It is close to the el, grocery store, pizza place and the lake! We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

  • Kasia was there to meet us on time at her clean well postioned apartment. It is 5 mins to good food shopping and the under ground railway in a street of elegant buildings. The apartment is warm, the building is quiet and the shower is fantatically good. Kasia is generous with litchen and bathroom supplies. We would seek to stay with Kasia again if we return to Chicago.

  • I stayed at Kasia's great cozy studio last weekend and it was perfect for my boyfriend and my stay. It was close to bus stops and the el which take you downtown or up north, which was convenient and suited our needs. The space was clean, well stocked and not to mention the bed was pretty comfy. Kasia was very sweet and always prompt. I would definitely recommend anyone stay here.

  • I enjoyed my time in Kasia's apartment. The 5th floor has a very nice view of Dearborn. The apartment has a well furnished kitchen if you are interested in cooking. I was interested in eating out and there are many good restaurants within walking distance. The flat is centrally located to the Gold Coast, Old Town and a bit further is downtown - walking distance for me but probably not for most. Starbucks Coffee is within walking distance at 2 locations - I picked up some good coffee for my stay. The futon couch was not too comfy but the cushions made it work and I rearranged things to suit my needs. Kasia is a real sweetie and if you are not familiar with Chicago, I am sure she will go out of her way to help you find what you need.

  • Kasia was lovely and her apartment is quirky and cozy and in a great neighborhood. She was very easy to work with in making arrangements to get the key and the fact that she provides a parking permit for guests is a phenomenal benefit in that part of Chicago. My only negative comment is that the sofa pictured above is actually not a sofa but is some kind of futon contraption which is extremely uncomfortable to sit on. The bed was fine and the apartment was extremely tidy. Not too much street noise, either.

  • Kasia was the most gracious and accommodating host we could imagine. She was open to a relatively last-minute booking and very understanding when my sister and I needed to check-in later than we anticipated. Our stay in Chicago was fantastic and the apartment itself was perfect. Every nook and cranny was filled with interesting, quirky details that made the space inviting and warm. This really was a home away from home for us and it the perfect place to relax after a busy day.

Also: public transportation is conveniently a block or two away, but we found that the apartment was within walking distance to a good chunk of the main landmarks, shops, and restaurants!

  • Kasia was super easy to work with, and although we didn't meet, was easy to communicate with. She made the keys available, left a friendly and detailed instructional note, and her place was super cute and cozy. The two room apartment (plus bathroom) was exceptionally clean and warm (winter stay), the bed comfortable, and shower hot and refreshing. There is a small kitchenette for cooking, although I only heated water for tea. Great stay!

  • Kasia s place was great, very cute & cosy. Kasia even left us as welcoming gifts wines and sweets.
Very good tips to go out in the area.
The location is excellent, in a nice neighborhood, with many bars and restaurants, not far from the subway and you can easily walk to the city center.
We rally enjoyed staying at Kasia s and highly recommend it! For sure we ll come back of we ever pass by Chicago again.

  • Great place, great location, great price! Kasia was lovely to meet and it was very easy coordinating arrival/departure with her. She even gave me a parking pass for street parking. I'll definitely use this apartment again for future trips to Chicago.

  • Location location location! Kasia's apartment was exactly as pictured. It was also immaculate. She was there to great us on our arrival and was very flexible as to the check in-check out time. Not only did she have a lovely welcoming gift of yummy cookies for us, but per my request, she had picked up some food from the grocery store so we were actually set up for breakfast for the next day ( she declined the offer of my sending her a check for this in advance, and just let me pay her when we got there). I would not hesitate to stay in this small but comfortable flat again on my next trip to Chicago. Kasia was a responsive and welcoming host!

Roosevelt University
Hello! I'm currently a student at Roosevelt University, where I have completed my Bachelor's degree in English Literature and am in the process of finishing my second degree in Education. When I'm not pouring over my studies in an over-caffeinated daze, I'm daydreaming of becoming a world-renowned wordsmith or professional espionage. I'm an avid book reader, as you will probably notice upon walking into my flat. When I'm not doing obligatory things, I write a lot, observe, sing folk songs, explore, inquire, take photographs/film, and collect vintage knick-knacks. I also enjoy cooking a hell of a drool-worthy meal. I'm always more than happy to recommend a list of my personal favorite joints in Chicago. Whether it is enjoyment for your brain and heart, or nourishment for your stomach and liver, I'll be sure to steer you the right way in this city. I tell all my guests: "Feel like you're right at home." I mean it! There's nothing more dreadful than returning from a nice day of exploration to a cold hotel. By being a guest in someone's home, you experience the city almost as if you live there. So go ahead, pretend my flat is yours, and think of yourself as a Chicagoan rather than a tourist. :)
