No smoking, no traveling pets. Sharing the bathroom and kitchen means sharing the basic cleanup, too. Generally quiet after 11pm.
Heather is a SUPER host and one of the best one I have had so far, (i have stayed a total of about 10 airbnb homes by this time). The only thing she is lacking of is a red cape on the back. She is very responsive via email. Even before arriving she sent me a detailed list of the many places to dine out. She has great knowledge of the surrounding neighbourhood which makes her an excellent tour guide, regardless of what your purpose is in Summerland. She is respectful of her guests, so she gives you quiet time when you need it, but also loves to interact with guests should you feel a little chatty. She does many little small actions on her side which really helped my stay so much more enjoyable. Heather is also an artist, so the house is tastefully decorated with some of her works. She may not own a huge or luxurious house, but its definitely a home with a heart.
Heather was very welcoming and we had a good visit with her. She advised us where to find good food at reasonable cost. She served a very good and nutritious breakfast. Very quiet neighborhood. She made us feel at home. The bedroom was small but adequate and we had access to the living room. Thanks Heather
Heather was a wonderful host. She lives in a cozy house, everything was exactly as described.
Summerland is a perfect start for exploring the Okanagan as it is in the middle of everything.
Heather was great to talk to and I am extremely glad that I stayed in her home. I would go back there anytime and can warmly recommend her place. I am looking back at my stay with a smile on my face.
Heather est une hôte adorable, elle nous a beaucoup aidé pour organiser notre découverte de la région! En bonus les petits déjeuners sont vraiment très bon!
About the Host, Heather S.
I am educated and self-employed, an artist and a gardener, an eclectic reader (Spider Robinson to Wade Davis). I have one Siamese cat, raucous in her old age. An omnivore who appreciates good but simple food, good but inexpensive wines, I use local food when possible, and bake my own bread. I have a compost bin, and recycle everything possible. I listen to CBC, and appreciate music, a good turn of phrase, and have a sometimes weird sense of humour. I attend a life-drawing group every week. Occasionally I still play my guitar. Am not presently able to travel, but enjoy tales and photos from those who do.
