Skiing at Apex or enjoying the beach? Touring the wineries? Visiting a friend or relative with little extra space? Pausing on a long journey? Bring me your traveler's stories!
Room with two single beds, desk, closet space, is sunny in the morning, quiet at night. Plain but comfortable. Share the bathroom, kitchen, and living space in my simple rancher on a dead end street. Pleasant private back yard with herb, flower and veggie garden...showing depends on the season. 10-15 minute walk to the main town to access wi-fi coffee shops and free wi-fi sites, restaurants, museum, art gallery, grocery store. 5-10 minute drive to Okanagan Lake beaches, walking trails, Kettle Valley Train, Giant's Head Mountain Park, and several wineries. Parking for your vehicle, cable internet available. Fresh linens and towels provided. Use of washer and drier, or hang laundry and beach towels outside during summer heat. Please note 1 cat is present in the home.
I have rearranged the room since last season, and now have two single beds in the room for those traveling in pairs.
No smoking, no traveling pets. Sharing the bathroom and kitchen means sharing the basic cleanup, too. Generally quiet after 11pm.
Heather was a wonderful host. She lives in a cozy house, everything was exactly as described.
Summerland is a perfect start for exploring the Okanagan as it is in the middle of everything.
Heather was great to talk to and I am extremely glad that I stayed in her home. I would go back there anytime and can warmly recommend her place. I am looking back at my stay with a smile on my face.
Heather est une hôte adorable, elle nous a beaucoup aidé pour organiser notre découverte de la région! En bonus les petits déjeuners sont vraiment très bon!
Was a fantastic experience. Heather was a gracious host and provided clean and comfortable accommodations.
Would definitely recommend as a place to stay when visiting Summerland or the surrounding area!
Heather is a very nice person, artistic soul. She recommended us best places to have a dinner. Heather and her cat Lolita are really sweet! The house was clean and we felt there very comfortable. Thank you very much for everything, Heather! :)
Heather made me feel more than welcome from the moment I saw her waving at me when I tried to find her place. Even though she had put in a long 12-hour day, Heather made sure I was comfortable and even stayed up with me to chat for a couple hours. The breakfast she provided was amazing. Be sure to ask if she has any of her blueberry muffins - you'll be glad you did.
We arrived quite late, but Heather was very accommodating with our reservation. The beds are exactly as shown and her home is very quaint. She is kind and friendly and makes the best home made blueberry muffins!
I am educated and self-employed, an artist and a gardener, an eclectic reader (Spider Robinson to Wade Davis). I have one Siamese cat, raucous in her old age. An omnivore who appreciates good but simple food, good but inexpensive wines, I use local food when possible, and bake my own bread. I have a compost bin, and recycle everything possible. I listen to CBC, and appreciate music, a good turn of phrase, and have a sometimes weird sense of humour. I attend a life-drawing group every week. Occasionally I still play my guitar. Am not presently able to travel, but enjoy tales and photos from those who do.
