  • La Maison Lafleur is an excellent place to stay in the wonderful Quebec City, and we very much enjoyed our visit. It has an ideal location extremely close to the Old Quebec area, so all the best attractions are well within walking distance. Gilles was an amiable and welcoming host, and the breakfast he prepared each morning was absolutely delicious. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Gilles has a large and warm heart. He is a concerned host. Knoweldgeable about his region and compassionate about his guests. We had a most comfortable and romantic stay at his place. It's very very convenient and everything works! Breakfast was custom to our diets and delicious and local. Then as an additional surprise, Gilles became on the last day our guide!!! And such happy enthusiasm. It was a pleasure to share time with a free and intelligent spirit. We went cycling around the Isle of Orleans, enjoyed meal(s) together and got a wonderful chance to really enjoy the best of real Quebec. Merci, indeed!

  • Gilles has a house in a fantastic location and provided us with a creative breakfast each morning. The street is very quiet and we were able to walk to see all the local sights and a 10 minute walk down the hill to join our cruise. As expected in a very old but renovated house the shared bathroom was very compact. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

  • Gilles is a considerate host and his unit is perfectly located in Old Quebec's 'Latin Quarter.' His breakfasts are creative and made with care. He provides good samples of local fruits and fixings.

His bedrooms and bathrooms are small (as expected) and his beds very comfortable. No complaints here.

The only problem we had was Gilles' WIFI sometimes was not available. Gilles was good about resetting his modem/router whenever necessary but we would have to wait if he was out (the WIFI hardware is in his locked office). Gilles is calling his provider to try to address this issue.

We took a taxi from the airport ($35) when we initially arrived late in the evening. The taxi driver did not have GPS and drove around and around in the Latin Quarter's small streets before eventually finding Gilles' address. With 20/20 hindsight I wished I had printed out a detailed (website hidden) street map to share with the taxi driver!

  • Gilles was an excellent host and his location could not be beat. Half a block from the wall and in the heart of Vieux (Old) Quebec, his place was the perfect jumping off spot to walk anywhere in this amazing city. When I arrived he oriented me to the town and pointed out a few key activities that were coming up in the next few days, including a free Cirque de Soleil performance which was incredible. I really enjoyed conversation with him and his breakfasts were top notch. I would definitely stay with him again! Highly recommended!

  • Gilles was a welcoming and attentive host. He agreed and met us earlier than the scheduled check in time to coincide with our arrival to the city. He took the time to orient us, share maps and events taking place in the city at that time. The room was comfortable and although the set up was a 'shared bathroom' one, I was pleased to have the sink in the room! Breakfast was very pleasant, healthy and creative and Gilles quickly adjusted to accommodate my vegetarian needs. As an added note, the location was perfect for sightseeing in vieux Quebec.

  • My husband and I had a delightful stay at Maison Lafleur with Gilles in mid-August, 2013. The house is homey and comfortable, the room was very nice, Gilles' breakfasts were perfect (he's a good cook!) The location of the Maison Lafleur was the initial reason that we chose it: excellent walking distance from the main square, the Frontenac and the road and stairs down to the rue Petit Champlain with it's wonderful restaurants, galleries, curios shops and super buskers. We were not disappointed. I highly recommend La Maison Lafleur.

  • Gilles was a great host, the place is clean and well maintained. Breakfast was delicious and lots of variety. The location of La Maison Lafleur is perfect for access to all of Old Quebec's sights and attractions.

We stayed for three nights and would recommend La Maison Lafleur to others visiting Quebec City.

  • We had a WONDERFUL stay with Gilles recently! It was a perfect location to walk to everything. Gilles was kind to give us tips on the city and provided maps. But beyond that, we had great breakfast conversation and thoroughly enjoyed being able to actually stay in the old city. Thank you Gilles...we would love to visit again!
