Comfy bed for better sleep

The room-darkening shades and extra bedding are loved by guests.
Thoughtfully designed to maximize the view in all parts of the house, there is a full panorama of Denali and the Alaska Range from this modern, newly constructed house. You can even see Denali from the shower!

The space
It's only five miles to town but when you're looking out towards the Alaska range you can't see any other buildings and it feels like you're in the wilderness. House resides on the bluff above Twister Creek (a great local IPA made by Denali Brewing). The home is off the grid, so you'll have a generator and solar panels creating any power you use. It's a great place to getaway while providing lots of recreational opportunities right out the door.

I've set the booking criteria for a two night minimum stay (with occasional one night stays here and there to fill in the gaps). It's worth it so you can slow down and enjoy the place. Let me know if you're looking for a particular one night stay and I'll see what I can do.

Winter guests will need to park and walk/hike/snowshoe/snowmobile the last .4 of a mile to the house. There is a wood-fired hot tub on the premises but is only available to wintertime guests staying at least four nights and only by prior arrangement and an additional fee. Think winter glamping!

Guest access
After confirmation, guests will be given a key code to the front door lock for access during their stay.

Other things to note
The isn't a TV or a microwave on the premises. There is good cellular service on the property. The wifi is Starlink so it can be unreliable at times but generally works quite well. I do not recommend this spot if you want a working vacation.

Neighborhood highlights

Talkeetna is a wonderful little town with lots to offer: good coffee, a local brewery, a bakery and lots of fun shops and activities. You'll have plenty to do in the area but be forewarned, it's hard to leave the house, especially when the weather is clear.

My work: Helicopter Pilot
I'm obsessed with: dark chocolate!
I love my job as a medevac helicopter pilot and I like to say that view from my "corner office" is one of the best in the world. Spending time outdoors and in the mountains has always had me feel calmed and gives me a sense that everything will work out just as it should. It helps me remember the important things that really matter and all the trivial details fall away. Life gets simpler. When I was building my home, I wanted to create a space that gave me this experience. The views, big windows and clean scandinavian design highlights nature. The changing light, views and weather is an ever changing canvas that draws you in. Looking over Twister Creek, across the uninterrupted wilderness, to the Alaska Range stretching across the horizon soothes your soul. Time slows. Breaths become deeper. Listing my home on Airbnb is a way to allow others to experience the peace of the wilderness. I want to provide a space so you can recenter and remember what matters most. We've got important work to do.
