Other Things to Note
Richmond Villa is an ecological property
The house scores an A rating (96 out of a potential 101) for low emissions, which is very rare for a Victorian property. This is due to the fact that our central heating is powered by biomass. But please note this means guests need to be prepared to fire and maintain the wood-fired stove in the colder months.
Richmond Villa reflects the owners desire to tread lightly on the planet and not add to our 'throwaway' society.
Please consider our neighbours and keep noise at a respectful level outside and inside the house. Please use the kitchen/diner and not the lounge for playing board games, etc.
Pets allowed only with prior consent of the owner.
Smoking is not permitted in the property.
Our property is checked and cleaned before your arrival. Before your departure you must leave it clean and tidy as you found it. Any additional cleaning required following your stay will be charged against your security deposit.
The sleeping capacity shown is the maximum number of people allowed at the property. In no circumstances may more than this number of persons occupy the property.
Louise made us feel very welcome with helpful instructions before we arrived. The house comfortably accommodated me and my eight friends and we had a wonderful weekend exploring the Isle of Wight. I would recommend the house highly. Thank you Louise.
We had a fantastic christmas in the Isle of Wight. Our stay at Richmond Villa definitely helped boost this (website hidden) is great for a small group or a large family. We particularly enjoyed the spacious kitchen where we spent most of our time. The house is very close to the ferries and supermarket.Louise is a great host, always on top of things and really concerned about how things are going.Upon arrival, she contacted us to check if everything was ok and made sure our stay was pleasant.
Louise was very communicative and helpful. The house is exactly as listed. It is very close to a supermarket. For other things you need to use the car (at least outside the summer months)
massive house and nice views from to top floor. really close to the main ferry terminal and the chain ferry making it easy even if you don't have a car. the house has everything you need for a comfortable stay, the huge kitchen and dinner table is ideal for big groups. if you come here with kids go crabbing by the paddling pool... they will love it and you just need a little bit of bacon..
Richmond Villa worked very well for our extended family. Lots of space and light and comfortable. The garden is a complete surprise. It is very well situated for the ferries and Waitrose. Louise was in touch always to offer help. Well equipped. Good for a large group with a huge kitchen and 2 sitting rooms.
Lovely and accommodating host, great location for our needs in a quiet neighbourhood.
Louise is a great communicator. From the start when we made our reservation she promptly answered all of our questions & gave us plenty info on the house & local area. The house was perfect for 10 of us, with bikes. Well equipped & we enjoyed bbq's in the beautiful garden. The house is perfectly located - a short walk from a large waitrose & cowes ferry terminal. It's also a quick 5min trip to west cowes on the ferry. The upstairs had beautiful views of cowes coastline & sunsets.
We really enjoyed stay in Louise's house & exploring the island by bike. Would definitely stay again & recommend to friends/family.
Thanks for your generous review Olivier. I note the points you've raised about the house and have already added the note about the neighbours and the front room. The fire in the kitchen is simple fire to work – but you need maybe to be confident with lighting fires and keeping them going? You also have to make sure you've emptied the grate to enable enough air to get in to get the fire going. the large oven does work and there is an instruction manual in the kitchen drawer - sorry though you had trouble with it. we will make instructions even clearer for future guests, including yourselves if you come again. Thanks very much.

Hi my name is Louise,
I am married with two kids and live in London most of the time and Isle of Wight some of the time.
I enjoy being host on airbnb because I love people enjoying my large home in East Cowes when I'm not there and welcoming people to my lovely eco studio flat in East London.
