The Space

We offer a quiet and peaceful tropical environment retreat with garden style living. Our guests receive simple and delicious meals prepared with local and organic ingredients.

This is like a bed and breakfast, but with lunch and dinner included too.

Since we are half an hour from the nearest town, we offer a package rate that includes all meals, transfer to and from San Vito, and the opportunity to relax and enjoy the local foods, flora and fauna of this wonderfully diverse bioregion.

Located in a small farm community, far from the cities and tourist activities, we don't really offer tours, but will help coordinate any travel you want to do while you stay, and will arrange your transfers from San Jose to get here. We will work with you to design your perfect retreat, whether it be to write a book, paint, meditate, or just hang out in a hammock and unplug from a busy lifestyle.

Take a look and if you really want to get away for a while to a peaceful and gentle environment, this might be the right place for you, and we will be happy to welcome you!

  • I visited Roni's finca "Finca Paz Y Flora" in January to recuperate from an exhausting year, and found it a most relaxing as well as an enchanting experience. The farm's setting on a hill top made for some very scenic views and the variety of wildlife ambling about is astounding. Ooooh, and the food - Roni is a fantastic cook and does the most amazing things with the stuff she grows on her farm. It was a long way to come for me, all the way from the UK, but definitely worth it, and I'm planning to do it again this coming winter.

  • I love visiting Roni on her finca. She has done so much work to the place and it has turned into a magnificent and tranquil organic oasis with gorgeous 360 degree views. It's fun to go pick your salad for lunch or mix up a yummy fruit drink from fruits growing on the property. I've been there a couple times and always hate to leave. It's definitely a great stay and she's a superb hostess.

semi-retired artist and teacher, a rat race drop out who has lived in Costa Rica since 2005, and has been restoring and reforesting Finca Paz y Flora since its purchase in 2008. There are many fruit trees and several hundred baby hardwoods recently planted on the property, and two greenhouses that produce vegetables, herbs and flowers. There is a creek at the bottom of the regenerating forest, which is a wonderful place to just be.
