We are a popular listing as our reviews show located in a genuine London neighbourhood that is not a central tourist trap. There are also numerous buses to all parts of London from our front door going to ALL major sights on a single bus ride (London Eye, Big ben, Westminister Abbey, Downing St, Nelson's Column, Trafalgar Square, National Gallery, Covent Garden, Oxford/Regent /Carnaby Street, Marble Arch, Hyde Park).
I have opened my own home to visitors for 6 years, and for 20 years at my family home which is seconds away, so hosting is in my blood. We understand how important it is to have a sense of your own space to relax in and a home away from home and our place is just that. We are a friendly young couple with a great sense of adventure, we enjoy discovering new things and places in London daily. Being a creative chef at #MEATliquor and interior designer we like to stay creative and tuned in to all the city has to offer and we love finding inspiration in new places, be they restaurants, vintage or design shops or underground events. We invite you to make yourself at home and ask us for any advice or anything that you need to get the most out of your trip.
Please do check out our other listings for bigger groups. Happy Travelling!
Living room, full kitchen, washing machine, wifi, the entire place is dedicated to airbnb guests and there is a huge picnic park with playground right outside.
Interaction with Guests
We stay in the apartment next door so we are on hand when you need us and can give you space when you just want to relax in your own company. You basically have free run of the place. We will greet you and pop up to see how your day was and are right there if you need any tour guide info!
We love our neighbourhood which has a real local feel. Vibrant and dynamic, friendly and hip. Brixton Village is the hang out spot that Londoners flock too and tourists are cottoning on fast too! With vintage shops, market stalls, cake shops and small restaurants and boutique bars its adorably charming!
Free street parking outside, this is gold dust! Super convenient fast tube getting you to Victoria in 12mins or Oxford Circus in 15mins. We also have 8 bus lines to ever sight and attraction possible literally at the end of the street. Also between 3 train lines and loads to do locally on foot
Other Things to Note
London is big, thankfully with the tube and transport network nothing is more then a jump on a bus or tube away (rush hour on affects road travel mostly). It is best discovered on foot with a travelcard over driving. The pavements are hard so pack some comfy shoes.
London is divided into 6 concentric zones with zone1 being the heart of town with more historic sights then residential places and zone 6 being suburbia. We are in zone 2 which is highly central by the London standard.
Simple...Make yourself at home, treat the place like it were yours.
We invite you to come talk with us, use the living area and use our kitchen anytime. Help yourself to any oils, herbs, sauces (we know these can be costly and a hassle to find when you are new to an area). If you use any basics like pasta etc just replace before you leave. There is a great supermarket just metres from the apartment.
Complimentary tea/coffee/toast/cereal for breakfast OR a full english is available for 6/gbp per person (please give us notice if you'd like this).
Free street parking
Miranda is a wonderful host. The flat was clean and comfortable, modern and tastefully decorated. We enjoyed our stay at Miranda's. Nice shared modern kitchen and living room.
The flat is on a quiet, well lit street, with a small park nearby. It is less than 2 - 3 minutes walk from the high street which has a Sainsburys Express, very nice & friendly Angolan/Portuguese restaurant and bus stops.
Brixton is less than 5 - 7 minutes by bus; lots of buses to Brixton Tube Station and also Tate Britain, Vauxhall, Waterloo & Kings Cross.
Lovelyyyyy! We really appreciate the beautiful b&b of Miranda! It was really nice to come back in the night and have a tea in the lovely sitting room, on the sofa... like at home! Perfect for family! It was really funny to look our son playing in the morning with Miranda's doughter! A real english staying in a really british house!
Had a lovely 1 night stay here. We stayed in the zen room which was very comfortable. The house is in a nice quiet street close to the bus stop and local shops. Myself And my husband would return here if we came back to London. Thanks Miranda
Due to a misunderstanding with our host, we did not have the Zen Room. When we arrived, we were provided the Blue Room. The bed on the floor in the Blue Room is not a true bed - it is only a few inches off the ground, resulting in a most uncomfortable and difficult up-and-down experience for us. Miranda was cordial and, although it was late at night when we arrived, she was available to assist us with entry and getting settled into our room. From a location standpoint, we cannot recommend this listing to vacationers. In order to get into London Center, one must walk to the bus stop, take the bus into Brixton and then catch the Tube and/or train to their destination.
Dear David, I can't apologise enough to hear of how unpleasant your stay was. The near cancellation was unfortunate as I think you would have loved the Zen Room. I also feel for you with the school and building works given yu were home bound much more then other guests. Thanks for your other observations which I will ensure I address. Location wise London is vast and travel is part and parcel of the experience but either way I appreciate your honesty and will endeavour to make the experience better for future guests. All the best Miranda
Appartment is beautifle, the sence of art is in the air - lovely place with atmosphere. It's very comfortable, clean and u can find everything you need. Miranda and her husband are lovely persons who support you always with their help. I felt so good there, absolutely raccomanded!
Miranda's place is the absolute BOMB! Highly recommended as a home-away-from-home in London. The flat itself is gorgeous, with beautiful decorations and everything you could need. Warm and cosy, it's ideally located to get anywhere you need to go with bus and train stops very close by. Miranda and her family are perfectly lovely, and really made me feel welcome from the moment I stepped in. They helped me with everything I needed in my first week of work in a new city, from pointing me in the right direction, to printing last minute teaching resources, loaning me international adapters and keeping the heating up to my delicate Australian standards! Super grateful to Miranda and her family for taking such good care of me. Incidentally, they also have the cutest little girl in the world, which makes for an even more enjoyable stay! Thanks, Miranda :)

About the Host, Miranda
Hi I am Miranda - A life long Londoner with a flair for travel, food and architecture. I enjoy interiors, it's also what I do for my work and I hope it is reflected in my home. Myself, my husband, and our daughter have been enjoying sharing our home and hosting for over 3 years and have met some amazing and lovely people.
We invite you to enjoy the comfort and beautiful tranquility of our sunny, spacious 3 double, 2 bathroomed town house to kick back and relax in as if it were you're own home away from home. It can be rented room only or you can have the entire place. The house looks over a great communal park so plenty of outside space with a playground for kids too.
I'd love to help you get the most out of your visit to this great capital city that I live in, know and love. My husband and I have a lot of quirky guide books on the bookshelf and maps for you to use, lots of local knowledge of markets, eateries and fun places to visit. We are a relaxed laid back, respectful couple with our chirpy girl Mila all having fun in Brixton.
We have opened our home as a family vacation home, a lodge house, a bed and breakfast, a launch pad to explore and sightsee in London, and for the Olympics. It even works for hen parties and bachelorette parties, for the wedding group to get ready in and even as the wedding couple's honeymoon suite. How would you like to use it?
We look forward to hearing from you.
