Cabin with 8 beds
The cabin has 3 bedrooms with bunk beds and a sofa bed in the living room. It is idyllically situated by a tributary to the Kragerøvassdraget, in the middle of an area with many great paddling and cycling routes. Here you can borrow a canoe and fish for free in the waterway right outside the cabin door.
This is the place for those who want "simple living" – the cabin has an outhouse, gas stove and electricity from solar power systems.
The space
The cabin is at the end of a gravel road, about 5 kilometers from county road 109. In autumn it is popular with hunters, but in summer the cabin is available for holiday guests who want peace and nature experiences. The cabin is idyllically located by a tributary to the beautiful Kragerøvassdraget, with access to a network of nice cycling routes. It is also possible to paddle all the way to Kragerø, but canoes and kayaks must be carried or rolled over some stretches along the way.
The area has its own exciting local history, including a World War II plane wreck that is a few kilometers away. Along the county road there are marked hiking trails, and popular hiking destinations such as Luberg and Åsland farm are only a few kilometers away.
The cabin is located about 15 kilometers from the village of Lunde, where you can shop, see the locks along the Telemark Canal or visit the famous Troll car that is exhibited in the center. There is also a short distance to day trips, for example to Sommarland, which is a 40-minute drive away.
Guest access
Guests lock themselves in and have the entire cabin for themselves.
Other things to note
The cabin offers "simple living" with outhouse, gas stove and solar panel. The kitchen is minimalist equipped with basic cookware. There is no shower or water taps, but you will get good drinking water that you pick up in the pond below the cabin. The railway line that runs between Drangedal and Lunde is close to the cabin, but is little noticeable, as the line is gated and there are rare departures.
Fishing in the waters around the cabin is free and no fishing license is required. The trout in the water is not big, but it is easy to fish. We also recommend that you fire up the fire pit in the evening if there is little wind. This keeps any knobs and mosquitoes away.
There are duv and pillows in the cabins. Guests bring their own bed linen and wash the cabin after use. Guests can also buy cleaning for NOK 800,- if desired. Bedding can be rented for NOK 100 per person. There is poor mobile coverage in the area, but it is fine to call with Telenor subscription. The water outside the cabin is shallow and has a mud bottom. For bathing enthusiasts, we recommend paddling out to the bathing jetty which is about 50 meters in the water.
N.B. It is not possible to charge an electric car at the facility. Charging an electric car will cause the electrical system to collapse and must be recessed by an authorized electrician.
