  • Hale Pueo was the perfect venue for our company's Board of Directors' Visioning Retreat and quarterly meeting. The old plantation style home afforded adequate accommodations for our seven-member Board and guest facilitator in a relaxed, down-home atmosphere. Paul J. Buklarewicz - Executive Director for Recycle Hawaii, a 501(c)3 non-profit community education organization dedicated to recycling and resource management for Hawaii's sustainable future. The retreat was a success in part due to this extremely comfortable and beautifully appointed house.

  • Holly and Eila are splendid hosts! This beautifully appointed house has everything you could possibly want for a peaceful relaxing holiday, including a generous basket of their organic local fruit, books, DVD's, board games, and a heaping helping of 'Aloha'. You'll sleep bathed in rich, country air and wake to the sounds of birds. Although it is completely private and feels quite remote, it's actually just a two-minute walk to the town of Hawi, with a charming local market on Saturdays, some delightful restaurants, and a friendly local pub with live music five nights a week. It's by far our favourite holiday rental ever, and we are already planning a return visit.

  • The house and setting was beautiful beyond our grey-Oregon-minded imaginations. The house itself was clean, beautifully decorated, and had plenty of big windows to let in the trade winds. A newborn began sleeping through the nights for the first time in its life in this house. All nine o us had ample room to have quiet time in some part of the house while other people were loud and laughing. Great energy in Hawi, this big old house, and the Algoods. We will be back as soon as we can and definitely recommend other larger group gatherings seeking peace and joy find this Hale.
