The Space

This second story, two bedroom, two bath apartment in the heart of Los Angeles, is your home away from home. One of four units in a Spanish style residential building, this residence is in walking distance to CBS Studios, the Los Angeles Farmer's Market and The Grove Mall (home to NBC's “Extra!”). Warm wood floors, crown molding, lots of windows with contemporary roman shades, and picture windows with floor to ceiling silk curtains, accent every room of this home. The Master bedroom has a king size bed, down duvet, a walk in closet and a large flat screen television. The second bedroom includes two twin beds, also with down duvets, a writing desk and a closet with built in shelves. Each bathroom has recently been remodeled with dark wood cabinetry, granite countertops and stone floor and wall tiles. One bathroom has a tub/shower combination and the other bathroom has a large, stone tiled shower with glass door.

This apartment is perfect for entertaining! The large living room has contemporary furnishings including textured linen couches and chairs, a large flat screen television with surround sound (email hidden) with granite countertops, bar stools, sink, wine cooler and plenty of stemware. The living room is lit beautifully in the evening with sconces and ceiling pocket lights; and during the day with an impressive arched picture window looking out to the tree lined street. The separate dining room is adjacent to the living room and fully visible through the large archway. A large rectangular wood dining table seats six comfortably in high back ultra suede dining chairs. Off the dining room is the kitchen, with granite countertops, cream painted wood cabinetry and stainless steel appliances, including a gas stove/oven, built in microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and countertop blender, toaster and coffee maker. The second door off the kitchen leads to the hallway with the bathrooms, bedrooms and the laundry room. The laundry room has a stacked washer/dryer. A door off the laundry room takes you down to a grassy, landscaped backyard, with seating and fire pit. Single car parking is available behind unit in a garage. Guest are provided a garage door opener. Guest should note the garage at Orange Grove is for small to medium sized cars only.

Many of LA's trendiest designer shops, bars, and cafes line Beverly Boulevard, 3rd Street and Melrose and are in walking distance or a short drive away. Nearby restaurants and clubs made famous by their celebrity chef's/owners include Suzanne Goin's Lucques, Mark Peel's Campanile, Mario Batali's Pizzeria Mozza and Rande Gerber's Stone Rose Lounge at the Hotel Sofitel, just to name a few.

Best restaurant Mozza! Unbelievable pizza. The local shopping really is one of a kind. Lot's of small boutiques with treasures to be had.

Getting around

There is a bus for public transportation but I highly recommend a car. If not, you can always use a ride share like Uber or Lyft to get around.

  • The bookings team didn't complete my booking so the meet and greet team hadn't emailed instructions to gain entry. We finally received an email and entered the property. The property was an older style apartment, that had a old timber smell when we entered the stair case. We opened the windows in the apartment and this alleviated that. The lounges were fabric and very dirty. We placed sheets on them to sit on during our stay. The floor was dirty and I looked for a mop to mop the floor, but we didn't have one. I asked for a mop and they sent the cleaner. The cleaners way of mopping was probably the issue. Should have been a bucket of hot water and detergent, not just a spray bottle detergent which stuck to our feet and then picked up the dirt from the floor boards. We had no iron for the duration of our stay. Advised that the dryer didn't work, and they thank me for notifying them but that was it. The phone number for the apartment didn't work. The second TV in the bedroom didn't work. The people next door left the air con running 24/7 even when they weren't there - it was a bit noisy. During booking advised that I had a USD mastercard and would this be a problem. Was not advised so and was billed in AUD and hit with a $100 currency conversion (website hidden) Hospitality staff sound like they are not well informed and are based in Asia. I am trying to dispute this, however, they are saying to take it up with AirBNB. Positives. The location was fantastic. Subway and the Bagel place at the end of the street. Pleasant street with people walking dogs, and people out and about. Clean linen and beds. Nice kitchen which had all the essentials. Very friendly neighbourhood. Close to the Grove Market Place which was excellent and the Little Italy restaurant, whose staff were fantastic . We waited for the cleaner to arrive on our last day to show the dryer and the missing ironing board and dirty lounges. We waited outside for our taxi and the cleaner left within 10 minutes.... If the property had a new coat of paint, maybe lounge covers that can be cleaned if you choose a fabric lounge for a rental, and was cleaned property... there were cobwebs in the corner of the lounge room and hall way, then this would be great value for money.

  • This is a very nice property in a great location. Newly rehabbed. Very comfortable beds, Good bath and excellent shower. Washer and dryer. Robust WiFi and Dish TV. Fully-equiped kitchen. Powerful AC unit in living room, ceiling fans in each bedroom. Nice dining room with large table. Spotless. Management is very responsive. Don't miss the morning scene at the Bagel Broker on the corner of Orange Grove and Beverly. Della Terra (excellent Italian) on Beverly is an easy walk, as is Cantor's Deli on Fairfax. Chase Bank is nearby, too. Also, The Grove mega complex and The Farmers' Market are close, and a CVS and Whole Foods on Fairfax.

  • This (email hidden) to stay! Very close to the Farmer's Market and the Grove. The place was exquisite, the bathrooms beautiful, and the entire experience was handled by a very professional support staff. Would gladly stay again.

  • This is a brand new and very nice apartment. Very well stocked with almost everything we needed for our week long stay. The 2 BR's and baths worked out well for the 4 of us. Great location near Grove & CBS. Overall, it was a good experience. As the very first renters of this apartment, however, there were some problems which we documented to AE Hospitality. We expect most will probably be resolved before the next renters. Just a few of those problems: the cold water faucet in the main bath didn't work; we were told it was a ground floor unit but in fact it's about 15 steps up to a top level unit; there were 2 nails sticking up about 1/4" from the wood floors; the smoke alarm starting chirping during the night and there was no one to call after hours to get it to stop (finally did stop after fiddling with the security system for a 1/2 hour, but don't know what I did to get it to stop). Lots of other lesser problems due to it being brand new and we had to create their punch list. No refund offered. Some confusion about the price too; we paid price listed on AirBNB but later told that price was a "special deal" -- but it's still the listed price. Also our cc had a security deposit hold charged even tho' agreement we signed said none would be. Having said all this, we would consider staying here again as we expect these issues will be resolved.
