About this listing
Located within blocks of downtown, Gulfport, you don't need a car to explore the area. There is now a REAL bed--NO futon!
Centrally located between St. Pete and St. Pete Beach, this converted garage is perfect for someone wanting a little retreat from the hustle and bustle of Tampa or St. Pete. This quiet location on 27th Ave. S, would only be 2 blocks from the Gulfport library and 3 blocks from the historic downtown area with its quaint and quirky shops. A variety of restaurants and shops line Beach Boulevard and you'll find everything from hotdogs to crabcakes on the way to the beach. Boca Ciega Bay is only 4 blocks from 27th Ave. S. and the marina district is close if you have a boat to moor or a kayak to launch.
I am an avid bicyclist and I can advise you about the best cycling spots. (And I'll probably tag along if you want....) I work with Adventure Cycling staffing some of their events and I have done long tours myself in France and Florida. I have a bike stand and most bike tools...and the Gulfport bike shop is 5 blocks away. I am a mile from the Pinellas Trail, a paved rails-to-trails path that goes from downtown St. Pete to Tarpon Springs.
It is furnished with a futon, desk, dresser, TV (with cable access) and small dresser/closet combo. It has its own bathroom and shower and an apartment-type sink/stove/refrigerator in one corner. Wi-Fi is free but you might need to get a booster--the signal gets lost sometimes. There is ceramic tile throughout and a vaulted ceiling in one of the many angled areas with a combo ceiling fan / light. I-275 is approximately a mile and a half from 27th Ave. I have a very large fenced-in backyard with a jacaranda tree and an organic garden you would be more than welcome to share.
The one-room studio is self-contained and has its own entryway.
Interaction with Guests
I work from home so am usually home to assist with all questions. If not, I can be reached by cell phone all of the time and have someone who can assist you if I'm traveling.
I am on a brick street so traffic is minimal.
Parking is off-street in the driveway. There is a bus stop 100ft. away at the corner.
Other Things to Note
Gulfport is a quirky little town with events almost every weekend. Because the downtown is within walking distance, you can enjoy the unique ambiance without getting in your car.
No smoking on premises.
