Located within blocks of downtown, Gulfport, you don't need a car to explore the area.
Centrally located between St. Pete and St. Pete Beach, this converted garage is perfect for someone wanting a little retreat from the hustle and bustle of Tampa or St. Pete. This quiet location on 27th Ave. S, would only be 2 blocks from the Gulfport library and 3 blocks from the historic downtown area with its quaint and quirky shops. A variety of restaurants and shops line Beach Boulevard and you'll find everything from hotdogs to crabcakes on the way to the beach. Boca Ciega Bay is only 4 blocks from 27th Ave. S. and the marina district is close if you have a boat to moor or a kayak to launch.
I am an avid bicyclist and I can advise you about the best cycling spots. (And I'll probably tag along if you want....) I work with Adventure Cycling staffing some of their events and I have done long tours myself in France and Florida. I have a bike stand and most bike tools...and the Gulfport bike shop is 5 blocks away. I am a mile from the Pinellas Trail, a paved rails-to-trails path that goes from downtown St. Pete to Tarpon Springs.
It is furnished with a futon, desk, dresser, TV (with cable access) and small dresser/closet combo. It has its own bathroom and shower and an apartment-type sink/stove/refrigerator in one corner. Wi-Fi is free but you might need to get a booster--the signal gets lost sometimes. There is ceramic tile throughout and a vaulted ceiling in one of the many angled areas with a combo ceiling fan / light. I-275 is approximately a mile and a half from 27th Ave. I have a very large fenced-in backyard with a jacaranda tree and an organic garden you would be more than welcome to share.
No smoking on premises.
It was my first time using this service as well as traveling to Gulfport, Florida. My goal for this trip was to stay for a few of days in a comfortable, secure & private residence where i would be able to use my bicycle to & from St. Pete. My expectations were met 100% & beyond. Karen was very courteous, friendly & made me feel as if her home was my home.
Karen was a a wonderful hostess, provided information on the area and was there if we needed her. The studio apt was very clean, nicely decorated and all of the amenities were there: coffee, tea, sugar. Very nicely done! The location is excellent, just walking distance to beautiful Gulfport. One word of warning, the futon mattress is very firm. I slept well on it but my wife struggled.
We will most likely return!
Karen's place was great! I had a long term stay there through a summer job and her place could not have been better. Karen was a wonderful host and extremely helpful with anything I ever needed.
Karen was a fine hostess and she even shared her tandem bike and lock with us for help in getting 'round and about. Good location; we could easily walk to "the strip" in Gulfport and our mother-in-law's closer to Clam Bayou. The photos published on Airbnb were accurate. Thanks for a fine, easy stay.
Beautiful, peaceful, large backyard with a sweet smelling orange blossoms and a large grapefruit tree. The studio is small, comfortable, & clean and Karen is thoughtful and gracious. The town has a friendly main street with interesting shops, a dance hall, and fun bars. Tennis courts are right up the street, near the public library. If you are looking for a peaceful place to spend any amount of time, this is the place for you.
I really enjoyed my stay, Karen was very friendly and helpful, I would come back there if I had to. The flat is very nice, kitchnette, (email hidden)e wifi connection is very handy
