About this listing
This Balinese influenced minimalist villa is located in the central province of Gianyar. This villa was built on this magical location because it sits surrounded by rice fields has cooling ocean breezes and is within walking distance of a typical Balinese village. The villa’s location is additional enhanced by the following; ocean and rice fields views, only a 15 minute walk to a quite beach and the world famous surf beach (Keramas), it is a thirty minute drive to the well known diving and snorkeling area of Blue Lagoon and a quite small cove white sand beach, a twenty minute drive to one of the most famous central cultural and tourist areas known as Ubud, twenty minutes drive to Sanur which is another well know Bali destination and lastly the world famous Bali Marine Safari is only a five minute drive.
The guesthouse has air conditioning, small private garden, private bathroom with shower and a queen size bed. The guests have access to the 18-meter swimming pool and the main house kitchen and cable TV. We do have wireless Internet that can be used free of charge when you have the need to “keep in touch”.
We have a full time maid who does the cleaning and laundry. She can help with food shopping and renting motorbikes. And she can prepare Balinese dishes if you would like. Also we can recommend a trustworthy Balinese driver who can pick you up at the airport and bring you to the villa.
The closest big super market is called “Hardy’s Super Market” located in Gianyar city. This is only 10 minutes drive from the villa. However, there are also a few mini markets closer by which can provide some basic items.
The sense of being away yet being in touch can be enjoyed here. We hope that while you are relaxing by the pool, with cooling ocean breezes, you will be reminded why it is nice to be away from the hustle of the tourist areas and in the calming experience of the magic of Bali.
Please Note: Breakfast is not included but you can ask our maid to cook for you. Our house is not suitable for younger children between the age of two (2) to eight (8) .

For a young couple, like me and my girlfriend it was THE place to be in Bali. We were allowed to use their motorbike for a very good price and that made us very flexible. We really enjoyed the beaches in Padang Bai which is maybe half an hour from their property by bike. Half an hour in the other direction is Sanur from where you can take the boat to Nusa Lembongan or Nusa Penida. Half an hour towards inner Bali you reach the Tegenungan Waterfall where you can swim inside. 20 minutes from there is Ubud the famous village in inner Bali with the monkey forest and nice architetural palaces.
The guesthouse is beautiful, with a very comfortable matress, a big and clean bathroom and a little terrace with beautiful view on the rice fields.
Last but not least they have a lovely maid called Ketut. She made us very good breakfast and helped us whenever she could.
I would definately recommend this stay!
By far the best homestay experience of our entire SEAsian trip! Ayu & Alfonso are warm and generous hosts, and the beautiful home that they've built in Gianyar provided us rest, relaxation, and an intimate look at Bali -- away from high traffic areas, massive hotels, etc. Everything about our time at their home was memorable and exceptional; from the 18 meter pool, to meals cooked by their housekeeper, to a seamless airport pickup we arranged. Travelers be warned, one stay here and you'll never want to leave.
From the moment we were picked up at the airport we felt very welcome as personal friends. We shared house and life for three days and it was lovely. Ayu and Alfonso do everything to help you find your way in Bali. It is a very quite and peaceful place away from the masses. There are restaurants and beaches in the neighborhood where there are hardly any tourists. The house, the pool, the dog, the bed; it's all five star. Hope to stay there again one day.

The hosts, Ayu & Alfonso have created a little bit of nirvana here with great care and devotion. I loved staying here and was made incredibly welcome by them and their helpful and kind maid, Ketut. I felt a bit sad leaving as it was like leaving family. The house is 10 mins walk from the beach but the beautiful pool is right there should you wish to do laps or just take it easy. A highly recommended place to stay - you won't be disappointed.

Best place we've stayed at in Bali! Such a beautiful and peaceful spot owned by two extremely kind people- Ayu and Alfonso. The guesthouse is just as it looks in the photos, if not nicer. Very clean, open and airy. A/C and hot water, clean sheets and towels, really just a dream spot. The housekeeper, Ketut, took us to the supermarket to get groceries and proceeded to cook us delicious meals with our food everyday. She taught me how to make amazing curry and fried rice. It was so sweet. She cleaned our house everyday and taught us Indonesian words, we love her! We rented a scooter from Ayu and Alfonso for about 5 dollars a day and went on day trips to snorkel and explore. But the best part was swimming a mile every morning in the lap pool and then lazing about. After traveling for about 3 months, this spot was paradise and exactly what we needed to feel refreshed and clean. Such a sweet spot. Definitely a gem!!
Great stay. Perfect host ... Just haven on earth ! Or should I say paradise ! Thank you Ayu and Alfonso!

About the Host, Ayu
My name is Ayu and I am from Bali, Indonesia. Alfonso and I have built our home here in beautiful Bali after having lived in several countries. We chose to live here away from the tourists’ area and all the noise that encircles them. For us the natural beauty is the best of Bali.
Most sunrises or sunsets you will find us walking on the beach with our dog Tango. We enjoy the fresh air and the beautiful colors of the sky reflecting on the sand and water with only the sounds of the ocean breaking the silence.
We still travel a lot and often rent out our entire house while we are away. We also enjoy having travelers staying in our guest room when we are there. Being a Balinese, I enjoy providing information about places that are not on the tourist map. I like making visitors experience to, my home country, Bali both gratifying and culturally rewarding.
