Where you’ll be

Nea Stira, Greece

There are numerous places to visit archeological, prehistoric and many possible activities such as hiking, mountain climbing, cycling, numerous beaches and picturesque villages with locally grown produce. Additionally possibility for:
- Scuba diving capabilities
- Dragon House: hiking excursions to these megalithic monuments
- Dimosari Gorge: enjoy swimming in the crystal waters of the gorge and under the fantastic cataracts in the area
- Armeno Castle ruins: trekking to the old castle ruins up to 650m altitude in the Ochi mountain
- Archaeological monuments: many archaeological sites all over the island of Euboea.

The “must do’s”
Swim at the nearby beaches of Diliso area and the beaches located at the Aegean side of Evia (Limnionas, Petries, Mourteri, Korasida and Kalamos), visit “Drakospita”, go for a night out to Karystos!

The “can do’s”
In a 10 min drive you find yourself at the village of Nea Styra (port area) where a variety of restaurants, fast-food, bars and cinema are available. We suggest:
“Akrogiali” for excellent fish food, don’t miss to try fresh fish soup (kakavia), sardine on the grill, prawns in white sauce and grilled octopus always accompanied with Ouzo.
“Matina” for traditional cooked food (mousaka, pastitsio, gemista etc) and fresh fish.
“Linardos” for greek “meze” and nice pizza, for sitting down or take away
“Gardenia” for pizza and burgers (includes child play area)
“Taverna-Palyvos” at Ano Styra for grilled steaks, fillet and other local meat based flavours (kokoretsi, kodosouvli) all from their own farm.
Gourounitsa&Sardelitsa if you want to taste great fish food and meat from a big variety of dishes at the same place. The “politiko kebab/giaourtlou” and “eggs with pastourma” are a must-try!
“Arias Beach Bar”, all day and night beach bar
“Kafenio Samartzi” at Ano Styra, where you can enjoy traditional greek coffee accompanied with orange pie and other freshly prepared local sweets

The Shopping
There are bakeries, small super-markets, butchers, fish market, fruit and vegetable market available at the Nea Styra Village. We suggest “Palyvos” butchery with excellent quality meat derived from their own local farm, “Linardos” for fresh fish, “Spitiko” for local sweets and biscuits, “Dodoni” for divine ice-cream. Don’t miss to buy home-made pasta (Goglies), soups, herbs, cheeses and many other local gourmet tastes from the “Ergastirio Zimarikon Goglies Styreon”, found on the main road connecting Styra to Karystos just outside the village of Nea Styra
