The host is well traveled and experienced in B&B operations in Manhattan NYC where he used to live, and looks forward to meeting you. His interests include photography (his works have been exhibited and published, and in private collections in the USA, Canada, and New Zealand), stain-glass making, and providing trained therapeutic massage for weary travelers, on a massage table.
Rudyard has a lovely home. A really nice space has been created for his guests, a lovely room, access to a great bathroom, a good internet connection and breakfast in the morning.
I would certainly stay there again and recommend it :)
The bed and room were comfortable and the facilities very clean. Breakfast was laid out and comprehensive. I would stay again.
Rudyard has an extremely comfortable house with a very comfortable bed. He allowed us to watch television in the loungeroom in complete privacy. There is only one thing that you should be aware of. That is the fee listed on Airbnb was substantially different to the final fee. I was travelling with my mother and we shared a bed. The listed rate was $80 but having paid, Rudyard told me this was incorrect for 2 people and it should be $120. Considering there was no extra washing of linen required I felt this was rather excessive. I paid half this price for a shared bed right next to Auckland city also in a very nice house. So just be aware that the listed price for 2 people sharing a bed is incorrect and you will need to pay more.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
