Interaction with Guests
We are a household of three: a retired couple, Brad and Pat, and middle aged housemate Joe. We're friendly and quiet, happy to tell you about the city and the neighborhood, and have good conversations over a cup of tea.
We are in the historic Powelton Village section of West Philadelphia, just north of the Drexel Campus. The neighborhood has many large Victorian homes built in the 1860s and smaller homes like ours built in the 1890s.
This is the best neighborhood for getting around! We are within 1 1/2 blocks of three bus lines. 10 minute walk to Market Frankford Subway, to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to the Riverwalk along the Schuylkill River. 15 minute walk to 30th Street Station and a Megabus. Near the Spring Garden exit of the Schuylkill Expressway. Easy door-to-door limo from the airport.
No smoking or pets. Turn off auxiliary heat when you go out for the day.
Brad, Patricia, and Joe were great hosts! I arrived later than expected and they kindly accomodated. Joe even helped me find parking! The space was as described. They even provided a welcome letter and pamphlets about the area! I would most definitely stay with them again!!!
Pat and Brad were so kind and helpful! They gave me many tips for visiting the city. The room was nice and everything was clean. The house is beautiful and quiet and I felt very welcome there! The neighborhood is safe. Thanks for having me and for the great stay!
Brad and Patricia are really kind, warm and friendly and their house is really convenient if you need to stay at the University City. I stayed 3 days in Philly for a mini-fellowship. The location is near the UniversitY area (both Drexel and Pennsylvania ), to many bus stops and to the 34th subway station. Close to the City center. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to visit the City so I had only a brief tour near the City Hall. I really enjoyed stay at Patricia and brad's house. You can use the fridge and the kitcken but if you want there are many different restaurant in the surroundings and the area is safe and quite. I heartly recommend brad and Patricia accommodation.
Nice place, old house but clean and not far away from tourist attractions. Friendly hosts. Would come back again.
Very affordable and good location if you're arriving from the airport or train station. The walk from 30th St Station starts off a bit sketchy, but gets better once you approach the colleges. Walls are a bit thin, but no one made much noise during my stay
My partner and I felt very welcome at Brad and Pat's. They were kind, flexible, and hospitable.
No frills, this is a great place for a simple stay.
