Interaction with Guests
We are a household of three: a retired couple, Brad and Pat, and middle aged housemate Joe. We're friendly and quiet, happy to tell you about the city and the neighborhood, and have good conversations over a cup of tea.
We are in the historic Powelton Village section of West Philadelphia, just north of the Drexel Campus. The neighborhood has many large Victorian homes built in the 1860s and smaller homes like ours built in the 1890s.
This is the best neighborhood for getting around! We are within 1 1/2 blocks of three bus lines. 10 minute walk to Market Frankford Subway, to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to the Riverwalk along the Schuylkill River. 15 minute walk to 30th Street Station and a Megabus. Near the Spring Garden exit of the Schuylkill Expressway. Easy door-to-door limo from the airport.
No smoking or pets. Turn off auxiliary heat when you go out for the day.
Brad Patricia and Joe were all great hosts! When I first arrived, I met with Joe. He was very pleasant, informative, and eager to answer any questions I had about either the room or Philadelphia itself. The room itself was quite nice. It was neat, comfortable, and the door had a dead bolt lock on it which made me feel very safe. I was provided a towel and wash cloth and they even went above and invited me for their weekly Friday night family dinner (which I was unfortunately unable to attend). The neighborhood is quite safe. They live near Drexel University which has campus police around the area at night. The location is great. I was easily able to walk down from the apartment, starting at PMA all the way down to Spruce Street Harbor park with stops in between in one day. Another big plus is that live only about a 15 minute walk from the Mega Bus station and major public transport if you don't want to do too much walking.
I had a wonderful time at your place. I was very well rested for my conference and all your timely messages.
Brad and Pat were excellent hosts. They were always available, helped me find parking upon arrival, gave me directions, and knew of places in the area to find food. I even got fresh tomatoes upon my leave!
The room I stayed in was relatively small but cozy; bed was very comfortable. It worth to mention that there was no air-conditioning in the room; it was quite warm the second night I stayed. Generally, it was good value and the hosts were very friendly.
Hi Brad, Pat and Joe!
I'm back in the Netherlands and feel homesick... I miss the States! Especially Philadelphia and New York!
I had such a wonderful time in your warm, cosy house. The food you made was delicious and nutricious :)
I really wanna go back to Philadelphia ASAP!
I will send you the pictures and wish you guys all the best!
Brad and Pat are very friendly and host me warmly!
The location is very good as almost everything is walkable.
The building is well-decorated with beautiful garden.
The room is spacious, clean, bright, and comfortable. Brad and Pat prepare the towel, water, and storage place in fridge. And they provide all the best answer for my questions!!!
The most enjoyable part is that they had very great conversation with me. I learned a lot from the conversation. They also introduced the other guest family to me and we have become friends!!! I really enjoyed this nice Airbnb experience!
