Our newly renovated 1 br/1ba apartment is centrally located in Guanajuato's historic center. Guests enjoy their own private patio garden with fruit trees, modern kitchen, natural light, wifi, and other amenities. We hope you enjoy your stay!
The apartment is great to stay for rest and health, due to fresh air and many steps for walking. The manager Camilla is very responsible and hard worker for her guest. I would`nt be hesitate to come back.
The Buena Vida apartment was perfect for my fiancé and I. Tastefully decorated and spacious with a small backyard/garden area. The kitchen is fully stocked so I was able to do some cooking. Also, there are some breathtaking views of the city from the patio above. The apartment is very centrally located, nestled in the hillside (be ready to get a good calf workout!) and a 5-10 min walk from Teatro Principal. We would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Guanajuato!
The apartment was really nicely decorated and was in a great location. We had plenty of space and the bed was comfortable. The manager who greeted us was very welcoming and happily answered questions we had. The only issue was a problem with the hot water which wouldn't have been a problem in warmer weather. However, they were planning to fix this after we left.
Beautiful home in a great location. Short walking distance to the main sites. Great views and there were citrus trees so we had fresh picked oranges and tangerines everyday. Check in was easy Michael and Sam were very helpful. We did have a minor issue with the lock but it was new and I'm sure has been resolved. Overall great experience and would definitely choose this place again next time we are in Guanajuato.
A week has passed since we left our week's stay at Buena Vida. A little time to cool down from the infatuation the apartment evoked.
The place is fantastic! Open, airy, well lit, spacious. The photos and description are an understatement. Not mentioned at all is the graciousness and helpfulness of manager Julie. She:
* was more helpful than some hotel concierges we've encountered.
* provided a folder full of recommendations for restaurants, massage, and things to do during the stay.
* checked in to make sure everything was going well
* seemed to be available anytime
* was very flexible about meeting us at check in/out
* answered every question accurately and completely
Julie's a total gem.
The photos don't show the living room portion of the apartment. A couch and love seat are comfortable places relax if, for some reason, you don't want to be out back on the patio under the citrus tree.
It truly is close to central Guanajuato. However, like all of Guanajuato, it is also up the side of a hill.
There is access to an additional garden terrace providing wonderful views of the city.
The kitchen is complete with a gas stove including a griddle for making pancakes or warming tortillas.
Dual locks make it very secure.
I love tile showers with plentiful hot water and a window to open. Such a treat.
Over the eastern wall the neighbor keeps chickens. Rooster crowings add to the ambiance.
Our October stay found the temperatures to be excellent in the apartment. Natural light fills it from end to end.
There's a clothesline on the patio.
An abundance of electrical outlets. No problem to iron clothes (bring your own) or charge camera batteries or mobile devices.
To sum, Buena Vida is a very comfortable, beautiful apartment with an excellent manager.
Julie was very accommodating. Our bus came in later than expected, but it was no problem for her to meet us and take us up to the apartment and show us around once we finally made it. The apartment was clean and well maintained and there were even some locally made chocolates and coffee waiting.
nuestra experiencia ha sido excelente. la casa esta preciosa y julie ha sido super amable y disponible. recomendamos la casa .... es una joya en una linda Guanajuato. ..

Avid travelers and Expats living in México. We spent a few years traveling the world and ended up in Guanajuato, Mexico about 5 years ago. Within 2 days after we arrived, Sam announced to Mike that we were staying. I know they say you should rent in a city for 6 months before you buy but we broke rule #1 and bought an old casita a few weeks later. We spent the next few years renovating the casita and building a larger house on the property as well. We love our little barrio (neighborhood), and the location. We're located right above Plaza Mexiamora and just a few minutes from most everything you could want in Guanajuato. We adore Guanajuato and make every effort to ensure our guests will as well!
