  • Excellent place to stay. Great location next to bus stop. Simon was very helpful before the trip providing directions and made sure there was always someone around to help if we needed it. Would definitely stay here again if in Zermatt. Would highly recommend!

  • Simon was perfect: available (even late!!) and always there to give advice!
The flat is very well located , walking distance from train station, groceries and the bus to go to gondolas is just in front of the flat!
We enjoyed zermatt a lot and will come back for sure!!
Thanks for everything simon! See you!!

  • It was very easy to communicate with Simon after making our reservation. He met us at the train station late in the evening which we appreciated a lot! He is very friendly and made us feel at home in this basic accommodation. He gave us several maps of the town and the mountains/ski trails, and recommended which ones to go see. Simon also gave us good restaurant recommendations. Basic bathroom amenities were provided, although I'm not sure if there was a hair dryer (I had brought my own). A simple thing that would make this a better accommodation is to provide free WiFi (we used the free WiFi at the Tourism Office next to the train station, and Simon told us there was free WiFi at many of the restaurants & bars). I would recommend Simon's apartment for anyone who has basic needs.

  • Simon was an excellent host. Even though we were arriving in Zermatt at almost midnight, Simon still met us at the train station to take us to the apartment. He even had some food in the refrigerator so that we could have breakfast and hit the slopes in the morning. The house is perfect for a couple of guys looking for a place to sleep while spending all day on the slopes. Just come home with enough time to shower, sleep, make some breakfast in the morning and do it all over again. Great place to stay and I hope I can come back soon and get another day with 70cm of snow and then a perfect sunny day the next day. Best powder day of my life.

  • Simon was an excellent host. He met us at the Zermatt train station and walked us to his apartment, which is less than a 10-minute walk in the snow from the station. It's in a very convenient location, right next to a bus stop. We didn't have any issues with the place, but Simon was readily available if we did.
The apartment is a small studio, but a great deal for the price compared to most of the hotel resorts. The complex also has a ski equipment room, so that provides a little more space. We had a party of four in the room, and at first glance it seemed as if it would be too crowded, but we all fit without any issue.
Simon even left some Zermatt visitor guides on the table for us to help with our vacation.
If you're looking for a convenient, less expensive way to enjoy Zermatt, I would highly recommend going with Simon.

  • Me and my 3 friends had a fantastic time in Zermatt.
Simon was very noce with us, making sure he was always contactable if any issue. He gave us a lift from the train station to the flat, which was definitely appreciated from our end given the number of luggages we had to carry.
The flat is very well located, very easy to find, very clean and well-heated. I disagree 100pct with the negative commentt made about the location and dark street.
I will definitely recommend this flat and will use it again if I ever go back to Zermatt.

  • We unfortunately did not have as a resoundingly positive review as others; a few things caught us a little off guard... The apartment is not easily findable, as its located down an alley way of sorts, in the industrial part of town, behind garages, machinery, and construction debris. While we never needed to take caution, it certainly was an unpleasant and rather creepy walk in the dark in the incredibly stark complex. And we are from New York City - no strangers to a shady walk. Also, we were told after arriving that there had been an issue with the apartment concierge and the wireless information had been changed and that we would receive updated information by email that day. After three days, several texts, several calls, and several emails, I was told by Simon that he could unfortunately not do anything to rectify the situation, and that we would have no internet. His solution was to find a spot in town. It unfortunately came to that, as one of us had to walk around town at midnight, in the snow, so as to send work correspondence from a computer. We chose Simon's place on good faith - based on his ad that there would be internet - and notified our employers that we would still be available should anything come up. When it did, the only solution was to stumble around town hoping to find a signal... Simon's ad also advertised laundry. His apartment COMPLEX has laundry, for which you have to have a key, which requires scheduling your day or evening around coordinating with Simon to gain access. Overall, Simon's apartment is what it is: budget accommodation. It doesn't pretend to be luxurious or spacious, and we knew that going into it. But the overall experience was lackluster, and knowing what I know now about the size, the location, the furnishings, and Simon's uber-lax approach, I would not in good conscience recommend the apartment, even to someone just looking for a cheap stay.

    Response from Simon:

If 7 minutes strait walk and turning left ones from the trainstation is not easy findable i really dont know how u get arround in New York!? About the internet im very sorry and i mentioned several places with wifi. This problem has been sort out by now. Also im sorry that u had to walk trough snow in a mountain village...

  • Simon was a very kind, friendly and generous host. We enjoyed our stay in Zermatt very much. The appartment was clean and tidy and can be recommended.
Thanks for everything, it was a pleasure to meeting you!

  • Simons is a lovely host, courteous and helpful and kind ( he met us with the key as well as milk and bread and prosecco ) and his apartment is very clean and well organised with a separate well equipped kitchenette, perfect for making your own breakfast and evening meal if you are on a tight budget as Zermatt is quite an expensive resort on the whole.
The studio room is spacious with good storage and a large double bed as well as a fold down sofa so perfect for couples and also 2 people sharing as was the case with my sister and I, we were very very comfortable. Simon also has an iPod dock and TV so again if you prefer to stay in you are well equipped.
The bathroom is also spacious and warm with tons of hot water for a lovely soak in the bath or a shower and plenty of room for ones stuff.
There is small balcony but no real view or sunshine, but Zermatt is in the shadow most of the winter as its so close into the high mountains.
The apartment is not luxury nor is it in the most salubrious part of town but it is exceptional value for Zermatt and very clean and well presented and also well appointed with an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of town, the bahnhof and gonergrat, railway satiation and the sunnegga funicular and lift system and the bus stop is right outside the entrance to the building complex which will take you into town or to the matterhorn express lift system if you prefer not to walk.
You will also find a small well stocked supermarket 5 minutes away along the main spissstrasse and the very good ski hire shop close to the sunnegga lift where they are very helpful and good english speakers. Florian was endlessly patient with us.
Its all very easy making contact with Simon to make arrangements for arrival and departure and of course as he lives and work in Zermatt he can advise on the best ski hire and places to go should you need this.
All in all Simon;s place is a perfect option for a very comfortable budget holiday in one of the top ski resorts in the world. I would highly recommend both simon and his apartment.
