Barbados, the easternmost island of the Caribbean Lesser Antilles, is a coral island formed in prehistoric times by erupting volcanoes. All of that activity has left modern-day visitors a 21-mile-long playground. And Becky's by the Sea is perfectly placed for play, just 50 yards from the beach in quaint Fitts Village, St. James. Close to public transportation, restaurants, super markets, duty free shopping and water sports. Just a 35 minute drive from Grantley Adams International Airport and 20 minutes from the cosmopolitan capital of Bridgetown.
Wake with the sun, lunch on the beach, dine under the evening stars....relax you're at Becky's by the Sea, Guest House.

We stayed with Davette for a week in February 2014 and had a lovely time. The house is great, big rooms, very good beds, great kitchen, beautiful porch and sea view terrace, all immaculately kept. Davette is a wonderful host, warm and welcoming and very helpful with anything you need. The location in Fitt's Village is ideal, an easy ride to Bridgetown, Holetown, Oistins, or anywhere else you could need to go on the island. Wendy's restaurant and bar is just around the corner and is great for an easy, inexpensive meal. Jordan's supermarket is like two blocks, and the sea is right across the street. The only thing I could possibly say is that there is some traffic noise (as there is everywhere in Barbados when you're close to the sea and the coast road) but it really didn't bother us. Davette's gardens are beautiful, they make the house feel like a little private oasis. All said, we loved Barbados, and staying at Becky's by the Sea was a wonderful way to experience the island.
My friend and I stayed at Beckys by the Sea for a couple of weeks in January 2014 and had a great time. Our host was very friendly and helpful, guiding us to various places on Barbados - she even took us out to some of them! The location is fantastic, just across from the Caribbean Sea. It's also on the main bus route into Bridgetown and along the west coast to Speightstown and beyond - so we were able to explore very economically.
On a practical note, the kitchen is spacious and well equipped and the rooms are very clean. There is a supermarket a short walk away and a good fishmarket just along the highway on the bus.
Had a great time with Davette, a wonderful and warmhearted host. Got good insider tips where to go and what to do and enjoyed our stay on the island with locals and good Bayan cuisine. Many nice beaches nearby, the sunsets right across the street are amazing. Bus stop right in front of the house. 3 days of car rental are enough to explore the rest of the island.
If you are sensible to noise be shure to book the room with the air condition as its windows show to the garden. Especially yellow busses are very noisy and often pass by with loud music on. Plus this room has its own bathroom. Beds in both rooms are really big and very comfortable.
Thank you for the stay!

I chose to stay with Daveette in Barbados prior to leaving on a 10 day sailing trip in the Grenedines. I loved staying with Davette she was a complete and total delight!! I arrived late in the evening around 11:30 pm. Davette had a taxi come get me at the airport which was such a relief traveling as a single woman to a place I had never been before! She showed me around the area, we travelled by bus to some great places to eat, we chatted, enjoyed each other's company and became good friends. I am truly grateful for the time I spent with Davette! She made my whole trip wonderful!!
Thank you Davette! Happy Holidays!

Having spent a number of years living in Barbados, I thought that I had seen all there is of Barbados.... Thankfully, I was wrong and I can only thank Davette for her warm and very generous hospitality. Her knowledge of the island is second to none and she was always more than happy to take the time to show me her Barbados.
I was looking for a complete break away from my routine hotel experience and I was hoping to find a relaxed "home from home" guest house. I found that and much more at Becky's by the sea... My room was very comfortable and to a very high standard... In line with a number of high end hotels that I have stayed at on the island. There is a beautiful beach literally across the road from the guest house, a bus stop right in front and ample parking if you wish to hire a car whilst on island.
I have no reservations in recommending Beck's by the sea to anyone travelling to Barbados. I have not stopped talking about my experience since returning home.
Thank you once again Devette for your warm and gracious hospitality.
Upon arriving at Beckys by the sea I received a warm greeting and Davette made me feel welcome immediately.
The location is fabulous and just across the road from the beach (60 seconds and you're on the sand ! ) a bus stop just outside the front door and there are plenty of places to eat and drink.
Davette is a wealth of information on places to go and thing's to do, so pick her brains.
Evenings were beautiful where can sit on the large veranda or go up to the cabana on the roof where you have amazing views of the sunset of Caribbean ocean .
Davettes home is very spacious, and airy with high cathedral ceilings for those Caribbean breezes to flow through , she creates an atmosphere where you feel relaxed and you can come and go as you please .
My room was huge with a large en suite, also ceiling fan and air-conditioning and there was nothing I needed, bedding, bath and beach towels supplied so leave your beach towel at home.
All in all I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I return to Barbados for my next vacation.
It was just a pleasure to stay at Becky's by the Sea! Especially for me traveling by myself I can really recommend it. Davette always makes you feel as someone who cares for you and helps you to get along there. Guestroom House 2 ist a nice and large room. In addition the kitchen and the porch provides way enough space for everybody so you feel actually as you would have rent a large vacation home. Davette pays attention that everything is neat and clean so that makes you feel very comfortable there. The house is located next to a major highway which makes it easy to get around but one should consider that heavy traffic which comes along with that.
Davette is an outstanding host with much knowledge on Barbados, which she is always happy to share. I spent a wonderful time in her house. She also took me on little trips, which gave me a good insight into Bajan culture. The house is clean, full of beautiful African art and has a great location, really just across the road of a wonderful beach. I spent a great vacations and would recommend Davette's place to everyone, who wants to experience Barbados on a local level.
I had a fantastic stay with Davette. The house is wonderful -- large bedroom with high ceilings, a big kitchen (perfect since I love to cook), and a rooftop terrace with views of the ocean. The beach is literally across the street, and such a sweet very private feeling beach with shade from lovely overhanging trees! The grocery store is 6 blocks away, and the neighborhood is safe and quiet. The local bus stop is literally outside the house -- the public transportation is quick, efficient, and frequent. Davette was a wonderful host -- we had great conversation and she was generous with her space, time and knowledge. I would go back to Barbados in a heartbeat and stay with her!!
Becky's by the Sea is a delightful guest house close to the sea, public transport and a local supermarket. Best of all, Davette was a a delightful host, who was a mine of information about the island and local customs. She was also great company and joined us on many of our expeditions and for Mojitos on the front porch in the evening.
I'm looking forward to my next visit to Barbados and my next stay at Becky's by the Sea.
