By far the best guest house experience Iv ever had. Davette is a true host and Gloria made our stay even better. After leaving Davettes to stay in the south we quickly realised that the West Coast is the prettiest, calmest and most easy to get around part of BIM.. The yellow buses are cheap, safe and fun and take you to paynes bay and holetown quickly. This is also one of the most affordable options on the island and I think the best. After some exhausting travels, to arrive at Davettes and be looked after so well was like a dream, thank you for having us. Fitts village will be the place I day dream about when I'm back at my desk.
Becky's by the Sea is truly fantastic. The sea is right across the street and it is absolutely beautiful and not a busy beach by any means. The house is just as the pictures show; clean, great layout, beautiful decks to chill on, full kitchen, and great location! There is a bus stop right outside the house which makes it perfect for getting around. Jordan's supermarket just a few minutes walk up the road has everything you need including lots of RUM. Our host Davette was a fantastic hostess and full of information on what there is to do. She was more than helpful and a great lady just to chill and hang out with! I highly recommend staying here, best time ever!!! Love my new Barbados family.
My favorite part about staying at Becky's by the Sea was the house and how beautiful it was, the architecture is simply breathtaking and beautifully decorated. The location is a perfect location is you want a early day swim, with a relaxing beach. It is accessible to the bus stop which is right outside of the house, which is great for those who like to enjoy night life, and see other places on the island. I think breakfast should be included however in the package for the home. Be sure to bring bug repellent as Davette advises. Overall Barbados is a beautiful island and Becky's by the Sea is a nice stay.
What can I say about Davette? It was love at first sight!
From the moment we arrived to the day we left, we had an absolute blast hanging with her and the Becky's by the Sea crew.
The location was incredible, right across the road from a gorgeous (basically private) beach.
Her home was wonderful - spacious, comfortable, inviting, relaxing.
Davette is now a friend for life - we can't wait to come back on visit our Bajan mother.
Davette is a fantastic host. There is what is practically a private beach a literal stones throw (cross the street, walk around one house and voilà) away. If you want to interact with tourists, a short beach walk brings you to a variety of resort front beaches.
The location is excellent to access the west coast. I used the bus to get everywhere and no wait was longer than 10 minutes - most buses arrived in a few minutes of getting to the stop.
There is a supermarket nearby which has almost everything you need (no bug repellant here for some reason, just bug spay) including a shuttle service if you really don't want to walk a few blocks carrying your groceries (or beer, in my case).
Davette is a fountain of knowledge about the local area and getting places. I was on a vacation / work visit and I am really glad I stayed with her first before moving to my business accommodations - I feel much more seasoned on the island thanks to her.
Davette became my newest and dearest auntie. She made my Barbados experience a supremely memorable one and took very good care of me with nice breakfasts and shared dinners. The beach across the road is a classic Caribbean dream, pretty much the best on the island. It's right on the bus route between Bridgetown and Speightstown, so a great base and really easy to explore from. You will love it.
Housekeeping things: I have to say that the mattress was amazing. Like, amazing. I slept so well. And the house is really clean and airy. I am allergic to cats so was concerned but with tiles and the clean way the house is kept it was fine. In fact the ginger kitten was kind of cool. Enjoy.

About the Host, Davette
I am a former resident of Brooklyn, New York, now living in Barbados for the past five years. I love what I am doing and have been told I do it well. I am available to answer questions, make suggestions, give directions and even accompany my guests around the island. I can guarantee you a true Bajan experience.
Becky's is a single owner occupied private home, located just 50 yards from the beach where there is great snorkeling, very close to public transportation, restaurants and rum shops are right up the road, down the road, all over the island.
I love it when I have someone to cook for, so you may wake up to my potato egg casserole, some fresh baked bread, or you may come in from a island touring and find I made you some bajan fish cakes along with a glass of rum punch.
Would love to host you and show off my beautiful island.
