"The Porches", is 9 miles north of Fredericksburg on RR 965 (Enchanted Rock Hwy). "The Porches" is on a 20 acre longhorn cattle ranch and is actually 2 Ranch Houses (Enchanted Porch and Grandmother's Porch) perfect for family reunions, bridal parties and wine tours. The Gazebo at Grandmother's Porch is perfect for an intimate family wedding or event (requires a rental agreement). Each house has a wrap around porch, fire pit, gas grill, lots of seating and acres of Texas Hill country to roam.

The space
10% Discount to Teachers, Military and First Responders (ID required). The 7% county occupancy tax is included in the rates and No cleaning fee is charged. This listing is for TWO houses.
Enchanted Porch sleeps 14 and Grandmother’s Porch sleeps 14 (the two houses are about 50 yards apart with a line of trees between them). The entire property is fenced and ready for you to enjoy Texas Hill Country at its best. When ready to go to town, its only a few minutes away to Main Street, or call one of the many Wine Tour services and have them pick you up at the ranch and leave the driving to them.
Each house has a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, large gathering rooms, comfortable beds, enough bathroom facilities to handle up to a total of 28 guests. Longhorn feeding areas are marked and most will eat out of your hand for an up close look at a Texas Legend!

There are lots of things to enjoy at Enchanted Porch (the first house). The living area has a cathedral ceiling and large limestone fireplace to enjoy with family and friends. The fully equipped galley kitchen with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, reverse osmosis filtered drinking water, granite counter tops, Keurig coffee machine (K-cups not provided), drip coffeemaker with coffee and teas for guests to enjoy.
Next to the kitchen is the laundry room which also includes a 1/2 bath. Across the hall is the downstairs master bath with a jetted bathtub and separate walk-in shower using softened water. There are two bedrooms downstairs. One has a king bed; the other has a queen and single-bedded bunks. Climb the stairs to the upstairs loft bedroom overlooking the living area and dining area. There's a game table, a sofa and a bunk bed that has a double lower and a single upper and single trundle bed as well. There is a bathroom (the 3rd one) with a shower off the loft bedroom. As you leave the loft bedroom guests enter the upstairs master bedroom with a king bed as well as a daybed in the corner sitting area. There is also an en-suite master bathroom with a shower (that's bathroom #4).
Electric central heat/air

More things to love about Grandmother's Porch, the second house:
The large galley style, fully equipped kitchen includes electric stove/oven, refrigerator, reverse osmosis filtered drinking water, microwave, coffeemaker (drip & Keurig), dishwasher, washer/dryer utility closet.
Coffeemaker and coffee are provided. Water softened water.
Downstairs en-suite master bathroom has a large walk-in shower. The downstairs master bedroom has a king bed with a Tempur-Pedic mattress. Upstairs you will find a open study area with two twin beds. The upstairs bathroom has a shower/tub. There are also two bedrooms upstairs, one bedroom has a king bed plus a day bed, the other bedroom has two queen beds.
Electric central heat/air
Propane grill, small charcoal grill and outside firepit on rock patio (perfect for grilling a steak or making s'mores). Wood is provided (charcoal is not) except during periodic county-wide burn bans.

Pets allowed at both homes. (if bringing pet, please indicate so that $25.00 per pet per night can be added to your portfolio after your initial reservation is complete.) Yard is fenced, but not for small dogs, but each house has a 600 sq ft fenced/gated area steps away for them to enjoy the outside. While inside the houses they should be kenneled.
Smoking allowed outside only!

The Gazebo at Grandmother's Porch is available for small family weddings. For weddings or special events, a rental fee agreement is required and both houses must be rented during the event. Request details from owners.

Please note that while Airbnb allows more guests than 16 to book a property, their website is set up to calculate a maximum of 16 guests per listing, so there are a few ways to book The Porches with more than 16 guests. One way is to book 16 guests at The Porches and the remaining guests at either the Enchanted Porch listing or the Grandmother's Porch Listing. The other way is to book up to 14 guests at Enchanted Porch, then go to the Grandmother's Porch Listing to book up to 14 guests. The cost is the same either way. There are several ways to search for Enchanted Porch and Grandmother's Porch on the airbnb site:
1) Go to the ranch website at gplonghornranch or liddellproperties followed by the most COMmmon extension. That will take you to the AirBnB links for Enchanted Porch, Grandmother's Porch and The Porches (both houses).
2) Do an internet search for "Enchanted Porch" airbnb and then "Grandmother's Porch" airbnb. Be sure and put the double quotes followed by airbnb.
3) The airbnb room number for Enchanted Porch is 34573598 and for Grandmother's Porch 34539655 and you can do a internet search that way by searching for "airbnb room 34573598" for example. I would tell you to "Moogle" it (change the M in Moogle to a G), but airbnb does not allow us to use that G word :)
Sorry for the inconvenience, but Airbnb's restriction on booking more than 16 guests makes us get creative.
Please note the base rate shown is for up to two guests per night. Additional guests will increase the cost and the rates are different depending on the time of year. The total cost will be calculated by AirBnB when dates and total number of guests are selected. Note that if you know the dates but not the exact number of guests, you can estimate the number of guests and make the reservation in order to lock in the dates (highly recommended during popular dates). If the number of guests changes, simply notify us and we will issue a revised reservation for your approval. Same applies for the discount. Make the reservation at the published rates, then message us a picture of an id of a teacher, military (active or retired) or first responder and we will apply the discount on a revised reservation. Contact our manager, Jerry if you have any questions or need help. Thanks, and hope to see you soon at the ranch.

Where you’ll be

Fredericksburg, Texas, United States

Texas Hill Country is quiet, peaceful with lots of stars at night. Located 9 miles north of Fredericksburg, you are far enough away from the city to have dark skies and bright stars and no city noises. Night noises might be a cow moo, or the cicadas buzzing, a whip-or-will, or maybe just quiet. And, you are also close enough to town to be there in a few minutes or have one of the wine tour companies come pick you up. If you go 9 miles farther north, there is Enchanted Rock State Park where you can climb the rock or hike around it...or just stay on the ranch and walk down to the crystal clear creek and enjoy the limestone bluffs...or watch the longhorns graze from the wrap around porch...or cook up some s'mores on the firepit...or just sit and do nothing! A great place to relax and recharge.

I have lived in Fredericksburg for the past 17 years, enjoying the wonderful life here in the Hill Country. Born and raised in Amarillo, I moved to Austin my junior year in college, stayed there for 32 years, and then followed my bliss to the Burg!
