Kate and Paul's house was the perfect retreat for our short visit to Brattleboro. Even more lovely than the pictures (if that's possible), the rooms were spacious and pristine, and our hosts went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Kate thoughtfully prepared a delicious breakfast for us to enjoy on the porch, and we quickly made friends with Garbanzo. A quick walk to downtown, a beautiful garden, the most gracious of hosts, all the amenities of home - I can't say enough about Kate and Paul's place!
We had a wonderful time in Brattleboro. Kate and Paul are very welcoming and gave us so much good advice on things to do in the region or places to eat. Kate even arranged some bikes we could rent with the local bike store. We felt really at home in their beautiful house and breakfast was amazing. And Garbonzo is the sweetest dog ever!
Our first airbnb experience was fabulous. Kate and Paul could not have been more warm and welcoming, and they went above and beyond throughout our 3-night stay. Turned out we had very simiar interests and compatible views, which was just icing on the cake. The house is, as advertised, delightfully quiet yet within a short walk of downtown Brattleboro, a wonderful destination any time of the year. One night, we had tickets to a concert in Marlboro, and the trip there and back was easy and scenic. We live in Indiana but have New England roots, and we look forward to a return stay with the Links in the near future.
The house is conveniently located a 15-20 minute walk to downtown Brattleboro, on a quick residential street. Kate and Paul were warm, generous, and extremely helpful, going out of their way to make us happy and meet our needs. The room was cozy with an adjacent private bath. Breakfasts were varied and tastefully presented. We highly recommend this airbnb and hope to return.
My husband and I had a wonderful time staying with Kate, Paul, and Garbanzo! Kate was very communicative and flexible about our arrival time. They both made delicious breakfasts for us and were very helpful about finding things around town. Their house was clean and comfortable. We could have sat on their porch and looked out at their beautiful flower garden for hours! All around, it was an incredibly pleasant visit that we would soon repeat!
Kate was a great host, we good not ask for beter. She made us feel directly at home, gave us good advises what to do. We enjoyed the garden, the house, the town and especially Gonzo the dog! He made us feel happy. The breakfasts we're fantastic we loved it, thank you Kate and Paul for the good time we had in Brattesboro.
This was exactly as described on Airbnb. But better. Kate and Paul were perfect hosts. The house is darling, clean, inviting, and the welcoming committee, Garbanzo is a keeper.
The location is walking distance to anything you could want or need. Lovely neighborhood. We will be back.
About the Host, Kate & Paul
We are an active couple who enjoy being outdoors (hiking, biking, skiing) with our mini-Goldendoodle (Garbanzo). We love living in our neighborhood - just blocks from downtown Brattleboro; yet quiet with little traffic, lovely gardens and friendly neighbors.
In spring 2015, we walked the 500-mile Camino de Santiago de Compostella from the French Pyrenees across Spain. We stayed in many "albergues" and know how important hospitality is.
Our charming three-story house (1930s) has wood floors throughout; a brick fireplace; a three-season porch with views of Wantastiquet Mountain; and other pleasant features making it cozy year round. There's a private backyard; fruit, vegetables and flowers abound on the property; and we are located in the most desirable neighborhood of Brattleboro near the Connecticut River and easy walk past historic homes to the colorful downtown.
Kate has worked throughout her career in the field of health & wellness. She works nationally on childhood obesity and conducts trainings and coaching as a consultant. You can ask her about helping you create a wellness plan or participate in life coaching. Paul is a carpenter and has lived in Japan and Iceland and he sings in a small early music group.
To enjoy staying in our home, you must have ease with stairs as bedrooms are on the second and third floors. If you are not taking the whole house, being comfortable with a friendly dog is important. Garbanzo will enthusiastically greet you and then "chill out." He's 6 1/2 years old and 45 pounds. He's supposedly hypoallergenic and does not shed.
All three of us can help you discover the gem that is Southern Vermont including recreation, food, music, the arts, yoga, meditation, massage and more.
