Queen size bed with great mattress and foam topper. Maple wheel head and foot boards. Fan and air conditioning in summer. Hallway bathroom with tub is designated for this bedroom. If you'd like another space, there's a sweet twin bedroom on the 3rd floor -- also possibility for air mattresses (in keeping w/ "air bnb")!
Private backyard and small porch with swing chair; three-season porch; dining room - other areas upon agreement.
We enjoy greeting guests and providing suggestions for enjoying the area. How gregarious we are depends on guests' needs. We both work during the day but can be available, as needed.
Great neighborhood with historic homes. Near downtown (5-minute walk). It's quiet with trees and gardens. Friendly neighbors. Pleasant all around!
Largely a walking area. Public buses are available. Amtrak is about 1 mile away. Pick-up can be arranged.
Garbanzo, the mini-Goldendoodle, is friendly and lively when people first arrive though does quiet down. (He quickly gets the hint if you ignore him.) He's "hypoallergenic" and does not shed.
Three-season porch, private backyard, living room and dining room.
We enjoy greeting guests and introducing them to our mini-goldendoodle, Garbanzo. We defer to guests' needs for peace and/or conversation. We both work, but can be available, as needed.
A charming, historic neighborhood near arts-oriented, downtown Brattleboro and outdoor activities. Very much a neighborhood-feel - plus safe and quiet.
Largely a walkable area. There is a public transit system and Amtrak is 1 mile away (pick-up can be arranged). Private parking space provided.
Friendly dog on premises. Bedroom is on the 2nd floor.
No smoking on premises. Thank you.
My friend and I had a wonderful time! Kate and Paul were very welcoming and warm. We enjoyed the company of Garbanzo the dog, a wood fireplace, and great restaurant suggestions. The 15 minute walk downtown was convenient and the house was beautiful. Coffee and breakfast were great as well.
Kate and Paul were as welcoming and as accommodating as any host could be. They treated us like real VIPs! Great location, great room, great breakfast; the house was super clean and tidy, with beautiful hardwood floors.
Kate and Paul welcomed us with tea and wonderful recommendations. They even called various reasturants and helped plan our further itinerary. The breakfeast was wonderful and we love their dog! We will certainly be staying with them if we're in the area again! Thanks!
Kate and Paul were gracious hosts, who greeted us the night we arrived with a cup of hot tea, while telling us about events and restaurants in the area. The breakfast the following morning was perfect, before we set out on foot for downtown Brattleboro, with its indoor winter farmers market, eclectic stores, and beautiful view of the river.
Lovely hosts, perfect location, comfortable bed...perfect!
My son and I stopped by for one night on our long weekend "road trip". We both enjoyed our stay. Kate and Paul were very gracious, friendly and accommodating. While I finished up some school work my son read books from their library. If you are looking for a friendly comfortable place to stay, I would recommend their house.
This home is just as advertised---very close to the center of town, yet quiet with large yards and big trees surrounding. I only met Paul briefly and Kate was very pleasant and accommodating about my arrival time and a bedroom radiator that took awhile to kick in (and when it did, the room was toasty warm). The home is absolutely clean and welcoming, and the sun room is a great place to chill out and read. The only negative was the beautiful wood floor throughout the house. While it looks great, you unfortunately can hear everyone coming and going on the floor, which is tough for a light sleeper like me. I unwittingly left my white noise machine behind and was kicking myself for not bringing it. You will need one if you're a light sleeper. I don't fault the hosts for their floor and will definitely stay here again if I return to B-boro, but next time I will bring the white noise!
Kate and Paul are excellent accommodating hosts and have a warm, clean and cozy home. Would definitely stay there again. 7 minute walk downtown.
We are an active couple who enjoy being outdoors (hiking, biking, skiing) with our mini-Goldendoodle (Garbanzo). We love living in our neighborhood - just blocks from downtown Brattleboro; yet quiet with little traffic, lovely gardens and friendly neighbors.
Our charming three-story house (1930s) has wood floors throughout; a brick fireplace; a three-season porch with views of Wantastiquet Mountain; and other pleasant features making it cozy year round. There's a private backyard; fruit, vegetables and flowers abound on the property; and we are located in the most desirable neighborhood of Brattleboro near the Connecticut River and easy walk past historic homes to the colorful downtown.
Kate has worked throughout her career in the field of health & wellness. She works nationally on childhood obesity and conducts trainings and coaching as a consultant. You can ask her about helping you create a wellness plan or participate in life coaching. Paul is a carpenter and has lived in Japan and Iceland and he sings in a small early music group.
To enjoy staying in our home, you must have ease with stairs as bedrooms are on the second and third floors. If you are not taking the whole house, being comfortable with a friendly dog is important. Garbanzo will enthusiastically greet you and then "chill out." He's 5 1/2 years old and 45 pounds. He's supposedly hypoallergenic and does not shed.
All three of us can help you discover the gem that is Southern Vermont including recreation, food, music, the arts, yoga, meditation, massage and more.
