The house is spacious and perfect for a relaxed stay, ideal for a small group of friends or family, looking for an escape or unique vacation.

The space

The open living area invites you to spend time together, lounging or cooking a meal while gazing through the large picture window or french doors at the desert landscape. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, dishwasher and cooking tools. The living room turns gold as the sun begins to go down and is the perfect spot to enjoy dinner and play games.

The Homestead Bedroom has a cozy king bed, seating area, large porch and 6ft bathtub with a view.

Wake up in the Master Bedroom in a queen size bed and gaze out of the french doors with a view of Joshua Trees and Cactus. Grab a book and relax on the swing and enjoy your private en suite bathroom.

Cozy up in the Nook Bedroom and enjoy the full sized bed.

++All bedrooms have memory foam mattresses, down pillows + duvets and premium Morrow Soft Goods bedding.

The house sits on 4 acres of natural landscapes overlooking the mountains and valley. You can enjoy watching sunsets on the back patio, surrounded by Joshua Trees, cactus and incredible wildlife. After the sun sets, head to the front porch for a glass of wine and enjoy the last bits of color before the sky turns dark and the stars emerge.

The name comes from my favorite childhood book, Roxaboxen by Alice McLerren. Roxaboxen celebrates the imagination of children who, no matter the time or place, can create whole worlds out of what they find around them in the desert. To me, the desert is a magical place, where no matter what’s going on, you can escape to and return to yourself.

Fun Note: Joshua Tree is in the desert ;) and with the desert comes lizards, snakes, scorpions and prickly cactus. The landscape is beautiful but also fragile so we ask that you respect that and be conscious of noise levels (especially after 10PM), fires, and your impact on the trees, water and wildlife.
