I’m a working artist and avid live music fan. My house has been featured in the Oct. 2013 Tribeza magazine. Ive hosted weddings, commercials, music videos, commercial photo shoots, house concerts, graduations, wrap parties, fundraisers, “after-the-gig” salons and the infamous “1st Sunday Potluck” every month for 10 years. If walls could talk they’d tell you to come on in pull up a chair and have a good time. This property has been most often described as the real Austin deal.
The Bouldin neighborhood is one of Austin's hippest areas with plenty of fun things to do and places to eat, drink and be merry. All of the pictures of the Bouldin Neighborhood on Airbnb's site, are within 4 blocks from my home. It's a great walking/biking neighborhood and very close to many things I like to say you're within 3 miles of most anything you would probably want to do in Austin.
This is a 2 bedroom 1 bath house on 1/3 of an acre, 1.25 miles from downtown. My decorating style is eclectic and artsy. Or as my grandmother calls it, “Early Garage Sale”! My art studio is on the property as well as a 600 sq. ft apartment. Plenty of privacy between both. It's also on Airbnb. The apt sleeps 5. The whole compound is also available for big parties. And then there’s “The Porch”. I’m proud to say it’s inspired songs and paintings. Someone showed up one time with a painting of my porch as a hostess present. It’s a wrap-around that’s 14' wide on the North side.
Most important to ACL and SXSW, and F1 attendees is the house is super close to the center of the action. It has a walk score of 83 out of 100. ((website hidden) walk score) It takes 10 minutes to get to the convention center by bike. Coming home is uphill, so it's more like 15. The #5 bus is 20 yds. from my door. I’m 2 blocks from S. Lamar- lots of venues and restaurants. 4 blocks from South 1st-lots of trendy food trailers and restaurants and boutiques. And 8 blocks to the now world famous South Congress Ave. A stones throw from my property is Thai Fresh and Thrice coffee house and venue. It's a short walk Bouldin Creek Cafe, El Chile, Magnolia Cafe, the original Torchy's Tacos, Polvo’s and otherAustin Institutions. Zilker Park- 1.5 mi., The Long Center-1 mi., Convention Center- 2 mi, Capitol 2.5 mi.
-Sometimes I'll be on the property with my terriers and will stay in my studio. At other times I'll be gone.
- It's a 15 drive to Circuit of the Americas racetrack which hosts the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
- The house is about 10-15 minutes from the airport and is a cheap taxi ride.
- On official City of Austin bike path. Part of an extensive inner city trail.
- #5 Bus is right next to my house

I'm an Austin native and a wealth of resources and information. Knowing a local is like gold when you’re traveling so ask anything. I want to show you why Austin is the best place in the world to have fun and see great music.
Laundry room, picnic table.
Interaction with Guests
However much or little you want to interact with me is fine.
Gentrification and property taxes have moved out a lot of what others considered "weird" but I've always considered pretty normal. There are still enough movie stars, rock stars, and vatos to keep things interesting. They are the new "weird" or "normal". However you want to look at it.
Bus in front of my house. Walk to some of the best restaurants in Austin.
-No smoking inside. The security deposit will be withheld for smoking inside the house. There are ashtrays provided outside. No butts in the yard. Bag the butts when you put them in the big trash. I'm very serious about enforcing the no smoking fine.
-Respect the guests in the front house as well as other neighbors.
-Keep the farm fence closed. When I have to stay in my studio my 2 terriers will be here. The are harmless but the brown one escapes. You can park inside the gate if you have more than 2 cars.
-Please no parties (other than booked guests) unless we talk first.
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful house! It's so charming, vibrant and comfortable inside. We loved sitting out on the porch and hanging out with Betty, who is quite possibly the sweetest little dog around. Gigi was such a great host! She kept the place in perfect condition, welcomed us with a smile, gave great recommendations for what to do in the area and was available if we needed anything. We thought the location was just perfect. There were so many great restaurants, bars, cafes and music venues within walking distance. Then getting to downtown was just a 5-10 minute car/ bus ride away. We really had such a wonderful time at this place and thought it was the perfect way to experience Austin and all of the character, food, music and fun it has to offer. We're in love with the house and the city! Thanks, Gigi being such a helpful part our wonderful, memorable vacation!
Gigi's place is terrific. It's in an amazing part of town, with great coffee shops, restaurants, and neighborhood architecture nearby. Beautiful running trails are very close, too. But the real draw is the home itself and its amazing porch. Relaxing, quiet, and a lot of fun. Gigi is a kind and accommodating host, too. I hope to be back sometime.
Gigi's house is truly awesome. Comfortable, stylish, and featuring the deck to end all decks, it's a great place for a small group when visiting Austin. We passed many happy hours there.
Be aware that there is another building on the property in which Gigi and her dog(s) will be staying. Those expecting complete privacy should look elsewhere.
After you enter the farm fence, you enter into a magical world curated by the lovely host Gigi and her beloved Betty, a Boston terrier. The place is cozy, colorful and full of playful art. The fans keep it nice and cool. Thanks for a great stay!
Gigi and her pupparazzi were fantastic. She made our family feel so at home. We wish her gorgeous digs were our home. So colorful and centrally located. We miss being there already!
Gigi was very welcoming and gave a lot of information about Austin. We loved the house. It was chock full of interesting art and objets d'art and painted in vivid colors. The porch was an ideal place for hanging out with friends and playing some country ditties. Gig's dog Betty, the Boston terrier, has a great personality and was a sweet companion. The neighborhood is full of interesting architecture and within walking distance of great restaurants, shops and places to hear music. I highly recommend Gigi's house to any Austin visitors.
My daughter and I stayed here for six days and loved it! The location is perfect for getting to anything in or around Austin. It was great to enjoy the porch when we were too tired to do anything else. We found all the necessities--wi-fi, AC, dishwasher, all working perfectly. The TV in the main bedroom was a bonus. Loads of room to spread out and comfy furniture to relax on. Definitely a great find.

About the Host, Gigi
I'm an "old school Austin" native. I'm a natural raconteur and love nothing more than meeting people from
other cultures. I love all creatures with 4 legs but especially canines. I'm an artist and all the cliches that apply. Live music and politics are my passion.
