The West Fjords are a magical place and this apartment is an excellent place from which to explore them. It is not only beautifully decorated, but also cozy--felt like a real home, with everything we needed, including lots of coffee and a bowl of fruit left for us. The apartment is well-located--near the center of town, close to an excellent bakery and the local pool, as well as hiking/kayaking (etc) outfitters. Dagny communicated regularly before the visit, so that even though she was out of town when we arrived, I felt like she was there. And her description of Tjörhúsid as the best fish restaurant in the world (which I thought must be an exaggeration) turned out to be true!
This apartment was fantastic! Really spacious and fully equipped. Everything is perfectly set up for guests to know where to find things and how to use all household items. Dagny is great, went out of her way to accommodate for our arrival time and gave us useful travelling advice. Too bad we couldn't stay any longer.
Dagny offers a comfortable and lovingly furnished apartment with a full equiped kitchen (which we unfortunately didn't used). We felt very welcome. Many thanks!
Nice flat and great location right in the center of Isafjörður! And many thanks to Dagny for her kindness and convenient attitude. We will be back!
Dagny is a marvelous and welcoming host! She is likely the most attentive, skilled, and organized host I have ever had the pleasure of renting from Airbnb. She is a top notch host, and she manages her rental apartment professionally with charm and warmth. I can't rave enough about her and the apartment. Her place is inviting, comfortable, thoughtfully furnished, nicely decorated, clean, and well located. We were four adults, and the space felt very pleasant, though truthfully the kitchen was a bit too cozy for all four of us at the same time. The beds and furniture were very comfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom were quite functional. The entire apartment is well organized and includes all of the information and amenities you need for your stay. Dagny anticipates the needs and inquiries of her visitors, and she has everything prepared for you before you even think to ask. She is communicative and responsive as well. We also met her at her beautiful gallery/shop. The art that she creates and curates really shows her creative spirit and talent. She was also an invaluable resource for Ísafjörður activities. She directed us to wonderful restaurants, bakeries, activities, and sights.
Please contact Dagny for your next stay in Ísafjörður. You won't regret it.
Dagny was very friendly, apartment was nice, location was good (quiet, easy to find).
Dagny was incredibly kind, and made our stay beautiful in one of the most amazing parts of Iceland. As well, she recommended one of the best restaurants in Iceland to us, and I can't thank her enough for that. The apartment was great, and she made everything super easy for us. We arrived late, it's a long drive from most places to Isafjordur, but she left us easy instructions for getting into the apartment and so getting in late turned out not to be a big deal for us. There was great light in the apartment, it was super cheerful, and she was a delight to meet. I really can't say enough good things about her, and how nice our time in Isafjordur was, in large part because she made it so easy for us.
There are no such thing as a problem. There are only a solutions :-D
I am a gallery owner, glass artist, framer, cabinetmaker and allot of other things. I live in a grate town called Isafjordur along with approximately 3000 other people. I live in a big house along with my husband Halldor and my mother.
We can get in touch with a lot of outdoor enthusiasts such as kayaks, horse-riders and sailing activities. We have our own little fishing boat and we could take you out for a trip. We love skiing. It is only five minutes to the skiing area. If you like to photograph the surroundings we can contact one ore two photographers that can give you some hints.
I have a fully fitted workshop for glass fusing. If you are interesting to stay for a month or so you can send me a line and I can give you an offer for renting the apartment and my workshop. I have two small kilns -50cm x 50cm- and a big one -90cm x 120cm- I have a grinder, driller, and so on for this kind of glass working. The west fjords are an endless source of inspiration any time of the year.
This little town is well known for our music and art. The rock festival "Aldrei fór ég suður" is very popular and held every Easter and the annual music festival and summer courses Við Djúpið are held in the West Fjords of Iceland around summer solstice, offering series of concerts and master classes. The master classes are held in close cooperation with the Iceland Academy of the Arts, and are accredited by it´s Department of Music.
We are very helpful and will do our best to make your visit unforgettable. We can help out with any questions you might have. You just try :)
