Betsey’s place is fabulous. It’s clean and comfortable and in the best part of the Bywater neighborhood. It’s right around the corner from some great new restaurants and super-close to the newly-opened Crescent Park. Quiet and safe, but close (especially by bike) to the bustle of Frenchman and the FQ. Access is set up for ultimate convenience. Keyless entry makes arriving late or leaving super-early effortless and you never have to remember your key. Amenities range from nice towels and bed linens, to snacks, coffee and tea. The recommendations Betsey's travel guide were excellent. Betsey was quick to respond the few times we did have to contact her during our stay. We’ll definitely stay here again if we can, but once the secret gets out, it might be difficult to find availability.
Wonderful place!! This is a charming, beautifully decorated cottage in a perfect location in Bywater - in the neighborhood of many bars and cafes but far enough from the throngs of Bourbon St. We really enjoyed having the bikes to get around. Betsey was an incredibly gracious host, very responsive and had suggestions for places we might check out. Highly recommend!
Overall, the space is comfortable and has great energy... It's a good 8-10 block walk through the quarter (or you can borrow the bikes) though we'd recommend a cab late at night for safety. It provided us with all we needed for an enjoyable weekend in NOLA.
We had a fabulous experience! Betsey and Jack were exceptionally helpful and responsive to our questions and requests, both before and during our stay. The property was just as described and was clean, comfortable and well-appointed, right down to the basket of snacks! The comprehensive guidebook they have assembled was a great resource for first-time visitors. The Bywater neighborhood itself has lots to offer as well as being conveniently located within easy walking or cycling distance to the French Quarter. If we ever get back to New Orleans, we will definitely be looking to stay here again! Thanks, Betsey and Jack, for a great experience.
Hi! I'm Betsey I'm a born and bred New Orleanian back from a 10 year stint in NYC where I met my New Yorker hubby -Jack and easily convinced him to move back to my hometown. We bought our first home - this 150 year old Creole Cottage nearly 5 years ago and have been lovingly bringing her back to all her glory!
We are very social and love meeting new people and telling them all about this beautiful city! We also totally respect privacy and leave guests be unless they would like any info.
We take great pride in our home and plan to host people who respect it as well.
