Two bedrooms and two bathrooms with an open floor, a large kitchen, and a pleasant backyard. Located close to downtown, coffee shops and restaurants, our house is also in a fairly quiet area of Central Austin near the Rosewood park.
- 1,400 sqft. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths.
- Washer and dryer
- Clean linens and towels
- Flat screen tv and apple TV
- iPod connection to audio system in living room
- Espresso machine
- Plenty of free parking on the street and one spot in our driveway
- Outdoor fireplace
The master bedroom has a king bed and a bathroom. The guestroom/office has a queen bed and our son's room has a full bed (and changing table). The second bathroom is between the guestroom and kid room.
The area is fairly quiet for a downtown home. There are coffee shops and good restaurants walking distance such as the Hillside Farmacy, the Blue Dalhia Bistro, Salty Sow, etc...
The Rosewood Park has baseball fields, a pool, there's also a little green belt to take walks.
The backyard is fairly large for a downtown home and makes our place unique.
Interaction with Guests
Depending on arrival time, we meet guests at the house and provide the keys or if we're out of town, our neighbors will do the same.
Conveniently located in Central east Austin, walking distance to downtown.
1.5 miles from the Capitol, 2 miles from the Convention center and a 10-15min cab ride from the airport.
There are many bus routes near the house and we're a 15 min walk from the MLK light rail station. We also have a couple bikes available.
- Please do not smoke inside the house, you can smoke outside.
- We have very friendly neighbors, please keep volume low after 10pm.
- Welcome to Austin, make yourself at home!
Steph and Ben were great hosts. They were very accommodating to our plans, easily contactable and their place was great. Very trendy, looks exactly like the pictures. We were in town for the Formula 1 Grand Prix weekend, it was also Halloween. We went downtown most nights, it was a $9 cab from the house to downtown - too easy.
Steph and Ben left us bagels, orange juice and some other bits to get us going which was perfect for day 1 breakfast.
The place had 3 decent sized bedrooms, again just like the pictures. All nicely decorated and the house was very clean. An easy sleep for 6, 8 would work depending on configuration, plenty of space though. Heaps of parking in the street in addition to the single parking spot they left for us.
The layout of the living space/kitchen and back deck was a nice setup for hanging out and having a couple of beers in the night.
All in all a great trip and helped by a great place to stay. Will look these guys up again if in Austin again.
We found a great hipster coffee place very close called figure 8.
The house was absolutely gorgeous with three spacious bedrooms, a nice kitchen, and a cozy backyard. It was conveniently located near the University of Texas and downtown, which made it easy to get around. We really enjoyed our few days at Stephanie and Ben's place and would definitely stay there again.
Was a wonderful accommodation, within walking distance to downtown Austin. We ate eggs from the chickens everyday and the bikes were great to have also. Backyard fire pit also! Highly recommended.
I stayed at Stephanie and Ben's place with a band of 5 during SXSW.
Their home is a little slice of paradise. It's spacious, open and clean. The backyard was our favourite part. The pictures don't do the large, very relaxing patio justice. We also found it pretty novel that they have a chicken coop, and took a few eggs to fry up during our big band-family dinner/BBQ. We also made use of their backyard fire pit, which was a perfect way to wind down after a long day. Their absolutely lovely house cat, Lola, was very friendly and actually made the stay even more enjoyable.
Not only was the house great, but you couldn't ask for better hosts. They left thorough instructions and recommendations for local eateries, and invited us to help ourselves to the food and beer in the fridge (which we definitely did :)).
The house is about a 40 minute walk from downtown, but that's really not all that bad since during SX you usually leave in the morning and don't come back until the evening. We usually walked in a group down 11th ave home every night or caught a cab (which ran us under $10 total for a trip from downtown).
Overall great experience and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Austin! Thanks so much Stephanie and Ben!
Very cozy home and in the perfect location! Stephanie and Ben are great and they are very gracious hosts. Their pianos and beautiful backyard provide an ideal environment for small children. My wife and I were very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend them to others.
Beautiful, clean, comfortable, spacious, welcoming house. We really enjoyed our stay at Stephanie's & Ben's lovely home. Extra points for the piano that we got to play. Warmly recommended!
We stayed at Ben and Stephanie during SXSW. This was an ideal place. Located in a quiet neighbourhood. Just ten minutes with the bus to Downtown Austin.
The house itself is spacious and lovely decorated. The garden is huge, with a big tree to shelter from the sun if you want to.
Their were a bottle of wine and a first day breakfast when we arrived. Wich made us feel at home on arrival.
So if you're looking for a place to stay in Austin. Look no further.
