About This Listing
Set in the medieval hamlet of AUDABIAC, surrounded by the Garrigue, a wonderful vast wildlife and peaceful area, just 15 minutes from Uzes and 40 minutes from Avignon, the house is a former Protestant house from XIX century made of stone and restored with a respect to its origin providing you, the guest, the charm of yesterday and the comfort of today.
The property consists of several houses. In the main house "Bastide" we propose two large rooms with 2 double beds 160x200 and big bathrooms. You will certainly enjoy a nice view from windows, as well as bells of sheeps in the evening and birds songs in the morning.
You may choose between self catering and bed & breakfast. If you choose to have bed and breakfast with us (8 euro/person), we use biological and local food to prepare you a healthy and flavoursome breakfast which is served on the terrace during the summer time and around the fireplace in the winter time. Dinner is available on request, for in between 18 and 24 euro.
We can advise you where to buy local specialities like goat's cheese, olives, olive oil, wine, vegetable, fruit, lamb directly from the village (available only in certain periods) . On request we organise an initiation to the Mediterranean kitchen or simply we propose to participate in the kitchen when preparing diner.
We speak French, English, Russian, Czech and some German.
After a brilliant but exhausting kayaking trip along The Ardeche Gorge, my family and I arrived at idyllic Domaine Audabiac to a wonderfully warm and friendly reception and the most superb pre booked meal, which we ate on Alexis and Jitka's delightful terrace. This is a truly beautiful house set in quintessential French countryside not far from stunning Uzes. Our rooms were spotless with gorgeous views over the pool and distant rolling hills; Opera/classical music floated throughout the house along with wonderful baking smells. Breakfast consisted of the most amazing homemade and homegrown plum and apricot tart.......many superlatives I know but Alexis and Jitka are simply the most delightful and helpful hosts and their home is very special. Highly recommended!
Jitka & Alexis made us feel very welcome in their beautiful home. We had a lovely, spacious, airy room overlooking the countryside. Websites cannot describe the breakfast Jitka would prepare daily - home made conserves, pastries, fresh juice and coffee - mmmm! Our hosts provided handy advice on where to visit and what to avoid. We were also able to organise an evening where we cooked together learning some lovely recipes. We will treasure our experience always.
We had a wonderful extended stay at Domaine Audabiac. We were traveling by car and used it as a home base for sightseeing excursions in the area such as Pont du Gard, Avignon, Nimes, and Orange.
The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated, with plenty of privacy. Jitka and Alexis were warm, friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. They were tolerant of our late arrival when travel took much longer than expected, provided extra comforts in our room (like a fan and docking station), put in extra effort to cater to all of our needs, and had good suggestions about local events.
Although we did not have breakfast at Domaine Audabiac, we did eat dinner there twice. Jitka is a wonderful cook who understands how good fresh ingredients and simple flavors will make a superior meal. We were thrilled to enjoy delicious food which (at our request) used lots of produce instead of meat.
This one's a keeper. We'll be back if ever we get the chance.
Alexis' home is an authentic historic group of buildings on a hill in the country hamlet of Audabiac. His love of all things old really creates an atmosphere of rustic charm with his collection of antique decor. Our room was on the first floor with large windows opening onto a beautiful view of the vast surrounding countryside, and the elevation provided a refreshing breeze at night. The room was very large and spacious, as well as the bathroom with roman shower, which is like a room in itself. We couldn't wait to get home from exploring each day to use it! We really appreciated the use of an adjoining foyer with table, fridge and tea making facilites....very important. Breakfasts were generous and delicious, with fresh local goats cheeses and home made organic confitures. Alexis himself prepared a delicious (pre-ordered) dinner for us on the first night of local organic chicken, vegetables, cheeses and fruits (those fat, fleshy, sweet yellow tomatoes with basil and buffalo mozzarella...YUM!). The nearby attractions of the Pont du Gard and the town of Uzes were so interesting and rich with history, and a great day out by car. We loved coming home to our peaceful domain. I would definitely recommend this place if you want peace, space and a bit of luxury!
We had a phantasitc time. Both of them were very warmhearted and helpful host. The house is gorgeous. We just feld like in paradise.
