This was my first Airbnb experience and Geraldine and Noel have set the bar high for future experiences! They both are such lovely, genuine people and we wish we could have stayed longer! We were greeted with tea and scones and lovely conversation and Noel drove us to the wedding we were attending at Glenlo Abbey. The house is a 15 minute walk back from Glenlo Abbey and set in a very beautiful location. Geraldine catered to my vegetarian diet in the morning with a wonderful breakfast and another wonderful chat. We really felt like we got to know the area better because of getting to know such lovely people and hear about the area from them. After breakfast, Noel drove us in to the city centre and directed us on where to go to get the most out of the time we had left in Galway.
We really enjoyed the experience and highly recommend Geraldine and Noel's home to anyone else wishing to stay in the Galway area!
Accueil très chaleureux et hôtes très attentionnées. Nous avons reçu de très bons conseils pour votre visite du Connemara et de Galway. Chambre spacieuse.
It was a delight staying at Noel and Geraldine's lovely house. They are amazing hosts and were extremely helpful in providing us with useful local information. Geraldine's cooking and baking is legendary and catered for my gluten intolerance through the use of home baked spelt bread, and puffed Quinoa breakfast cereal!
Geraldine and Noel are such kind, genuine people. We loved every minute of our stay with them. Our only regret was that we didn't stay with them longer. Geraldine fixed a delicious breakfast for us, while Noel kept us entertained with his fantastic sense of humor. Actually, I have one other regret--that they don't live next door so I can visit them more often. They are truly wonderful people. I fell in love with their calico cat, Zoe.
The hosts were AWESOME (so was their cat, Zoe)! They made us feel at home as soon as we got there. It was like staying with family. They helped us plan out our tour of Connemara. Without their advice and pointers, we would have not been able to see so much in the limited time we had in the region. They were so accommodating! We were supposed to stay 1 night and ended up staying 2....and WE ARE SO HAPPY WE DID! This was our first AirBnB experience and honestly, because of them, it will not be our last. We could have spent hours and hours talking with Geraldine and her husband!
Bottom line: Great place! 10 minutes from the City Centre...and a marvelous house! If we are in the area again, we will certainly try to stay here again!
We really enjoyed staying with Geraldine and Noel. They were both very friendly and welcoming, as was Zoe the cat.
The room was clean and warm and the bed was extremely comfortable.
The breakfast's were generous and delicious.
They were really helpful with suggestions of places to visit, and had brochures and maps we could use during our stay.
We highly recommend anyone visiting the Galway area to stay with Geraldine and Noel.
This house was absolutely the perfect place to stay. Everything in the house was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was significantly nicer than mine at home. The Bretts were without question the warmest, most welcoming couple I have ever come across in my travels. I actually gave Geraldine a hug on the way out. I would recommend that anyone in the Galway area stay here, doing so will give you a taste of Ireland that you won't be able to find in a hotel room or a hostel. If there was a 50 star rating, that's what they deserved.
