What we have to offer you, and even a small family, is a lovely spacious 20 sq. m., south-facing room in a 160 sq. metre Berlin apartment in the well-known Kollwitzplatz area in Prenzlauer Berg, Berlin.
The bedroom has a double bed 160 x 200. We can put in an extra single bed for a third person. The room adjoins a private breakfast area, which faces south-east and has large French windows. There is WiFi and we supply towels and blankets and will try our best to fulfill any other wishes. Please ask.
The apartment building is located on the fourth floor of a building built in the 1870s and refurbished in 2002. Hanno + Zaki moved in right after. Their daughter Suraya joined them six years ago. Suraya is a well-travelled little girl and is very used to being a host herself.
The kitchen separates the guest area from the family area. You are more than welcome to enjoy our very relaxing bathtub-room, cook in our well-equipped kitchen, use the washing machine and dryer, and all other amenities. You will be sharing with us the shower / bathroom. The shower is an open concept, which means the floor does get wet. But if you do not mind this, neither do we. You are also more than welcome to enjoy our front balcony which overlooks the sycamore trees.
The apartment is very close to major public transport lines - the U2 underground and M2 tram lines take you to Alexanderplatz, one of Berlin's major transport nodes. The M10 is also just a few minutes away and connects to the just as interesting Berlin districts of Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg. You can even walk it to the city centre (Mitte).
There are restaurants and cafes, public squares with playgrounds. On Saturdays, the Kollwitzplatz market boasts a range of exquisite stands, that offer fine foods, organic fruits and vegetables, handmade wares and much more. A highlight here is a stand specialisng in a finer version of the renowned Berliner Currywurst. On Thursdays, the Kollwitzplatz organic market offers a smaller selection, which nevertheless covers all your needs. The well-known flea market, open on Sundays, at the Mauer Park is also walking distance.
We look forward to having you with us, and also to help you during your stay in whatever way we can.

Airbnb is about staying in someone's home as your home for the period. Hanno, Zaki and Suraya could not have made Tim and me more welcome. We were visitors with a long list of things to do in Berlin and were always greeted with a cheerful cup of coffee in the morning and the chance to chat with them over dinner in the evening. I particularly liked their industrial cooking range.
We couldn't be happier with our stay in berlin, perfect room, comfortable bed, beautiful apartment in a beautful part of the city, we walked or rode everywhere, it is centrally located and close to great shops, restaurants and markets in the weekend. Hanno & zaki were fantastic. We were made to feel at home, coffee was made for us every morning, and they were very helpful with all of our questions, we didnt want to leave! we will definitely be back next time in summer and will pass it on to friends thanks again!
HaZaSu Baethe was excellent hostes.. My sister and I felt so welcome and they really helped us with how to get around and gave nice local tips to Berlin. We would defently recommend this place if you want an extraordianary stay, while feeling like staying at a very expensive place for not much money in their wonderful apartment :)
The room was very nice, thanks for the good coffee and for helping us to park the car !
You couldn't ask for better hosts or a more beautiful and welcoming place to stay. If you want to go to Berlin, you should stay here.
This was our first time using Airbnb, and we were so fortunate to stay with Hano and Zaki. The correspondence through this site was very fast, everything was easily arranged and quickly (within 24 hrs of signing up, Zaki had accepted to host us). We had our 6 months old baby with us, and Hano and Zaki helped to make it a very relaxed week end, in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, perfect location in a very hip yet family-friendly neighborhood. The room is bright and clean, just as you can see in the photos. Hano and Zaki were very accomodating with the baby, letting us use their fridge for baby food and offering us the use of the bathtub. It was a perfect base for us to enjoy Berlin from, even though we had a bit of an issue with our huge pram with the steps (the elevator starts on the first floor). [Obviously not an issue for everyone, just families with young kids and pram].
Hano and Zaki are relaxed, kind hosts, and gave us excellent advice for visits in the area and places to see (with the baby, we are of the 'Slow Tourism' movement, you know, like 'Slow Food'...). We loved our time in Berlin and that is due in no small part to Hano, Zaki and Suraya's hospitality.
Amazing place to stay in Berlin! Wonderful hosts, apartment and neighborhood. Clean, quiet, charming and private. Would definitely stay again and recommend it! Thank you for the great stay!
Not only is this large room in an absolutely gorgeous, spacious, and modern apartment in a fabulous location, Hanno and Zaki are above and beyond amazing hosts. So helpful, clean, and generally lovely people to be around, our vacation was not only improved by having such a great place to stay, but by meeting such a wonderful family.
The apartment itself is in a great neighborhood and close to every type of public transit, making it easy to explore berlin. The room has great energy, as does the entire apartment. The hosts were even so kind to move an extra mattress into our room so my friend and I could have our own beds.
If you want to have a great trip, I would highly recommend renting this room.
The perfect place to stay in Berlin. Beautiful home, in a beautiful part of a beautiful city! Hanno and Zaki are gracious hosts; kind, helpful and friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough.
They were the perfect hosts! They make you feel completely at home (that is at home with people who make you coffee and ask about how your day was) I will absolutely return to visit!
