About this listing
Cosy and sunlight ROOM in my home located in old charming building, in the trendy centre neighbourhood (Born). Balcony views to amazing square. Great location close to the beach and old town sightseeing. Excellent connections
What make the room unique is the sunlight and a beautiful view from the balcony to the large square, because it is so difficult to find in the old town (as well than the tinny lift).
Another strong point is the great location, between the beach and trendiest centre area. You can get everything walking!! . I always recommend to the guest just get lost walking through the small Gothic streets and squares, or the beach.
The flat in the old charming building, with old ceiling and wood floor, is really cosy and warm.
The guest room is equipped with a 1,50m bed (so comfortable in my opinion), one trunk, some hook on the wall and chairs, to drop your stuff. But in case you need more, it is no problem at all to use the wardrobe in the hall.
The square is safe and quite but the traffic. There are wide glass in the window so in my opinion it doesn't disturb.
You have full access to the apartment (living, bathroom..etc), including kitchen and all its stuff... except my room, of course.
There is a tinny but really helpful elevator in the building!!
You have your own keys, so you have free access (just respect neighbours please)
Interaction with Guests
In the apartment there are two rooms. The double one I rent, and an individual one where I stay.
I will be present when you arrive to know you and show you the room, the flat and the city.
I am usually out of the apartment all day long until dinner, but don't hesitate to ask for recommendations, talking,..etc, otherwise not problem to give you your space if you do prefer.
I like to go out and I have a really deep sleep, so it is really difficult to disturb me.
"Born" is one of the three old town areas. Is definitely the trendiest one, full of bar, restaurant and art galleries, markets,...etc. A lot of building have been renewed in the last years and it became kind of art quarter of the city (sometimes little bit snob in my opinion) . It has the old town atmosphere but at the same time a lot of contemporaneous events.
You have a train station just one minute walking, with connection to the airport.
As close than "Barceloneta" yellow line metro station to get any place of the city.
And an interesting tourist tour bus stop, just in front home...you can see it from your window of your room.
Other Things to Note
I give you clean towels and sheets, and I take care of the apartment excepting your room ( I keep out when there are guests)
You have full access to the kitchen and all its stuff in case you want cook.
Long hot showers are also possible
The apartment is in a second floor but there is a small lift.
For the coldest days there is a small electric heater.
I don't like setting up rules and I trust in your common sense, and just expecting respect towards neighbours and home.
Please don't invite strangers or friends to the apartment for dinners or parties.
It is not allowed on whole building to put towels or clothes to dry in the balcony.
Let the bathroom door open when you are not using it in order to have a better ventilation and to know that it is not occupied.
And in case you use the electric heater, please remember to switch off when you leave home.
About the Host, Carles
I was born 43 years ago in BCN, my city, your home.
I'm living in an amazing apartment in my favorite area of BCN, the Born neighborhood, in the old city, close to the beach, the sea and my job. I work as architect, and every day I ride bicycle towards my little own architecture office, located in the heart of the city.
I have travelled around Europe and lived for some years in Roma and Galicia, living together with people from different countries, a lot of them are good friends and we are still in contact.
I'm easy going , friendly, with a youth spirit, and above all I don't like problems at all.... They bored me!!.
I spend so much time out of home, in contact with the street and sun....and the sea. I love to sail and to feel that time slow down, but unfortunately I can't do it so often as I would like.
I like architecture (of course), as well than reading, movies, music, and go out to dinner and take some drinks with my friends, ... but my favorite hobby is football... to watch on the stadium or tv, and to play it with friends some sunday, just for fun.
