With the feel of a studio apartment, this guest room has a Keetsa Organic queen bed, office area, bathroom, private entrance, gardens and mini-fridge only one block from Open Eye Cafe, restaurants, nightlife, Steel String Brewery, Weaver St Co-Op.
Enjoy a well-lit, cozy guest room with a private entrance, private deck overlooking gardens and patio and a private bathroom. This is a dedicated Airbnb space that includes a mini-fridge, stove burner and kettle.
The guest room is situated between my living space and a separate apartment that is rented out long term (to the left of guest room in picture). Your area is completely contained for your autonomy and privacy. You are free to come and go as you please without disturbing us.
This space is at the edge of downtown, but is on a winding road that feels rural with an abundance of trees, gardens, birds, butterflies and frogs croaking in the summer.
This is a perfect space for one person or two who would like to share a queen bed.
Guests will have access to room described, deck off of entrance, and patio with eating area below. For longer stays, I may be able to arrange a day of the week to use the laundry facilities.
Interaction with Guests
You can easily have complete privacy, or possibly have interaction with me if the opportunity arises. I run a local movement/circus studio a few blocks from here and am sometimes quite busy with work or creative projects. Then, other times I am blessed with spontaneous free time. I love living here in Carrboro and would be happy to guide you towards fun spots and good food. I do ask that you come to me with questions rather than the neighboring tenant so she can maintain her privacy. Even if I'm not at home, I am readily available by text if you need assistance.
While we are a few steps from great daylife (Open Eye, Farmer's Market, Weaver St Co-op Market, ArtsCenter, All Day Records) and nightlife (Steel String Brewery, OCSC, Acme, Glass Half Full, Cat's Cradle) in downtown Carrboro, our views feel very organic and country overlooking mill houses, a creek, and many trees. The Flowjo, my local dance/circus/flow sanctuary, is a few blocks away with weekly Ecstatic Dance as well as hoop & aerial classes. The home in Carrboro is also close to UNC Campus.
This home is conveniently walkable to everything in Carrboro and very close to the bike path to UNC campus. We are less than a block from the J bus, and two blocks from the F and CW buses. Local buses are free. The town is very bike friendly.
You may park in the drive-way.
The closest airport is RDU (Raleigh-Durham).
Other Things to Note
This space was previously rented by Daniel, the owner of the property. I am now taking over this house and continuing to rent out this precious space. Here are a few reviews from previous guests while Daniel was the host.
"Overall, it was a great experience! Daniel's room was exactly as described on the website, and I had no trouble finding or accessing the apartment. The room was ample, and the bed was comfortable."
Thomas - June 2014
"The location was excellent, right off the main drag of Carrboro. The private room was great, especially with its own entrance. Walking distance to Weaver St. market, Open Eye Cafe, Steel String, etc."
Kaiser - June 2014
"Can't say enough good about this place. Highly recommended! We had an outstanding time in Carrboro and loved staying at Daniel's house. The apartment is very private, clean & well kept. Daniel & his family were fantastic and welcoming hosts, his kids are awesome, and the location can't be beat: just a block from great coffee, bars, restaurants, and our favorite: the Weaver Street Co-Op where you can get food and eat outside in the public park. What a wonderful place to visit! We'll be back for sure."
Rachel - May 2014
"Fantastic place in Carrboro! My son stayed here for three weeks in the springtime, and we visited several times. Daniel and his family have created an oasis of country and sustainable living right at the edge of downtown Carrboro. Walks to restaurants, fabulous grocery store/cafe, coffee shops, nearby parks for walking. Also a ten-minute walk to UNC for the hardy walker.
Living area is light, airy, has it's own deck overlooking the architecturally captivating "compound" complete with workshops and gardens. Country living in the heart of town.
Daniel couldn't have been more accommodating and gracious, and all transactions were clear and timely."
Sandra - April 2014
"Really enjoyed a week at Daniel's. Excellent
facility for the two of us. Also Daniel was a
very friendly and helpful host. Very convenient
location in Carrboro. Would certainly go back."
Bob - March 2014
"Our stay at Daniel's place was perfect. The private little apartment was cozy, clean, and more then what we could ask for, especially considering the price. Daniel was great too. He hooked me up with a pair of pedals for my bicycle and met us out at Cats Cradle for a drink before our show. Looking forward to returning back to his place for the next show in Carbarro. Thanks Daniel and family!"

Another great stay at Julia's place. Second time I have stayed here and loved the stay again. Very comfortable and great location close to everything in Carborro. Hope to stay again.
Great location 5 mins from the UNC campus. Everything was as described and I had a great stay. Julia was also very quick in her responses to my questions which was very helpful as this was my first Airbnb experience.
Julia's place was exactly as pictured and described, clean, and welcoming. We appreciated her flexibility with check in and check out time. The room was private and very conveniently in walking distance to the heart of Carrboro.
I booked with Julia for my dad, who ended up in the hospital with pneumonia when he arrived. Julia had the room open for a few days after his reservation and so kindly offered the place to my dad to make up for the days he missed. Great location about a block from downtown Carrboro.
Loved the location of Julia's place! An easy walk to the brewery, Weaver St Market, and other good restaurants and bars in Carrboro. We were in town visiting family so we didn't spend much time in the room, but it was just as described. A hot plate with dishes, toaster oven, mini fridge if we needed it... Clean bathroom, comfy bed. Didn't get to meet Julia but her place was lovely and she responded quickly to any questions! Thanks again!
I had a lovely stay at Julia's. It was private, peaceful and quiet- just what I was looking for! She was a very sweet host with a charming space. Thanks, Julia!
This was our first Airbnb experience and was excellent. The room and amenities are lovely and the location ideal for us. A great home away from home. Being able to walk around Carrboro or short drive to get to other places was great. We had our privacy and Julia was available by email or text. We hope to stay there again on one of our periodic visits back to this area. Thanks again, Julia.
